Stuttering Big Boss’s White Moonlight

Stuttering Big Boss’s White Moonlight

Chapter 31 - Chapter 31

Sunlight was streaming into the hallway on this chilly morning.

Cheng Chu looked up and saw the young man with a sharp and clean new haircut, causing her eyes to sparkle with delight.

"Wow, Gu Miao, you got a haircut!" She let go of Yu Yan's hand that she was playfully holding onto.

Her words were like a small hammer, easily breaking through the icy exterior of Gu Miao's eyes, and a warm feeling gradually spread across his face. He couldn't help but turn to look at her.

In the morning light, her peach blossom eyes were soaked in sunshine, and he couldn't help but openly admire her. His heart was beating fast, and he blushed, coughing lightly to cover it up and lowering his gaze. "I got it cut yesterday," he said.

Cheng Chu looked at him, her eyes curved into a crescent moon. "It looks great," she said. As they conversed back and forth, Yu Yan couldn't help but glance at this "Gu Miao" who was clearly familiar with Cheng Chu.

The morning light shone into the hallway, casting a faint white glow on his already worn winter school uniform. His high nose bridge was adorned with a pair of lifeless black-framed glasses, and his sickly pale skin was visible through them.

But the young man's handsome features and the slight sparkle in his eyes as he looked at the girl managed to suppress the gloomy aura around him.

In a split second, Yu Yan sensed the young man's hidden intentions towards Cheng Chu.

A slight discomfort stirred in the depths of his heart, and Yu Yan couldn't help but interrupt, "Cheng Chu, let's go."

As he spoke, his gaze swept over Gu Miao, revealing a strong sense of hostility.

Gu Miao couldn't help but furrow his brows. His dark eyes looked coldly at Yu Yan, emitting a thick chill.

Yu Yan turned around and ignored his gaze, directly saying to the girl next to him, "It's almost time for class, let's go."

The morning sun outside was covered by thick clouds, and a few strands of cold wind blew into the corridor.

Gu Miao's hand hanging by his side trembled slightly, feeling a bit stuck in his heart.

It was only natural for them to walk together since their classroom was not on this floor.

That cold wind seemed to blow into his heart in an instant, stirring up a shallow sourness in his heart.

He lowered his gaze, pursed his lips, and said nothing.

The corridor was extremely noisy, with people gathered around the red list, talking to each other.

Amidst the clamor, Gu Miao heard the girl's clear voice.

"You go ahead."

He looked up in disbelief. The clouds outside drifted and swayed, and finally, the bright morning light shone through the obstruction and spilled into the congested corridor.

In the brilliant sunshine, the girl tilted her head slightly and said to Yu Yan, "I left something in Class Three earlier, I need to go get it now."

Yu Yan responded with a hint of disappointment, "Oh," and a touch of reluctance in his tone, "Then I'll go first."

As they passed by Gu Miao, their eyes met in the air, and sparks flew.

On the side, Luo Qianqian watched the drama unfold with enthusiasm still evident in her tone.

She looked at Cheng Chu and asked, "Chuchu, what did you leave in class?"

"Didn't you borrow my math notes last time? Are you going to return them?" Cheng Chu replied.

"When did I--" Before she could finish her sentence, Cheng Chu grabbed her by the neck.

"Hey, you have a terrible memory. It's okay if you forgot to bring it, just remember to bring it next time," said Cheng Chu.

After speaking, Cheng Chu turned around and looked at Gu Miao standing beside him.

"Since she didn't bring it, I'll go up now," she said.

Gu Miao's lips curled into a smile as he nodded.

The girl walked lightly up the stairs and turned around, saying, "See you tonight."

A few leaves fell from the holly tree next to the teaching building and blew into the corridor with the breeze.

It wasn't until the girl's graceful figure disappeared at the top of the stairs that Gu Miao reluctantly looked away.

When he returned to the classroom, he heard Luo Qianqian's puzzled voice, "Did I lose my memory? When did I borrow her notes?"

The evening in the seaside city was always as beautiful as a dream.

In the dimly lit parking lot, a ray of crimson sunset shone through.

"Gu Miao, I'm sorry. Our teacher ran overtime again." The girl rushed into the parking shed like a gust of wind, still carrying a faint chill.

"It's okay." Gu Miao pushed his bike and turned to look at the girl, his eyes calm and gentle.

Cheng Chu jogged over, still panting from the run. "Let's go, let's go."

Gu Miao looked down at her.

The girl's fair and rosy face blushed like the evening glow, her long lashes trembling slightly, and her peach blossom eyes half-closed, but still showing a hint of exhaustion.

Gu Miao's footsteps came to a halt, his voice slightly hoarse with an indescribable tenderness. "How about taking a break before we go?"

Cheng Chu panted and wiped the sweat from her forehead. "It's okay, let's go."

It wasn't until they walked out of the school gate that Cheng Chu's breathing gradually calmed down.

She turned her head and looked at Gu Miao, asking, "Have you received the confirmation letter for the transfer?"

"Mhmm," Gu Miao nodded.

"Then you can come tomorrow," the girl's voice echoed in the cold wind, clear like a lark leaping onto a branch in spring.

Gu Miao's lips curved slightly as he couldn't help but turn his head to look at the girl.

A few strands of crimson sunset reflected in her eyes, and her sparkling peach blossom eyes were filled with unreserved joy and anticipation.

A strange sense of satisfaction surged in his heart like a tide, slightly sweet and tingling.

The girl continued to chatter, "Let me tell you, I'm sitting at the back of the class this time, and the seat next to me is still empty."

Gu Miao's heart trembled.

Does this mean they can still sit together?

As if she could hear his inner thoughts, the girl continued, "You need to hurry over when the time comes."

The evening breeze was light and gentle, brushing against his face in delicate strands.

He turned to look into the girl's eyes, but was overwhelmed by the radiance within them and quickly averted his gaze, murmuring softly, "Okay."

The air seemed to be sprinkled with powdered sugar, and with each breath, Gu Miao felt a dizzying sweetness that left him feeling intoxicated.

Taking a deep breath to steady himself, he spoke in a low voice, "I...I want to get a new pair of glasses."

During his last fight, the legs of his glasses had been broken.

Thinking they could still be used, he had tried to fix them with glue and made do with them for a long time.

But the young man who worked with him kept saying that his glasses were outdated and unattractive.

At first, he didn't pay much attention to it, but ever since Cheng Chu came to the store looking for him last time, the young man had been nagging in his ear every day, saying that even with these outdated glasses, he still managed to attract a girl.

He blushed and retorted, "She's just my classmate."

But his fingers, along with his heart, couldn't help but tremble slightly at these words.

The young man raised an eyebrow and said, "I think so too. She's such a beautiful girl, she wouldn't be blind to your good looks."

Gu Miao lowered his head, pursed his lips, and didn't speak for a while.

The young man felt like he had gone too far with his words and couldn't help but advise, "Hey, actually, your features are quite handsome. Just change these glasses, and you'll definitely be a charming young man who can attract girls."

The three words "can attract girls" were like a feathered hook that lightly tickled his heart.

That night, as he gazed at the pitch-black ceiling, he calculated his expenses for the next month and the money he had saved recently, secretly deciding to buy a new pair of glasses.

But when he walked into the glasses store, he was overwhelmed by the variety of frames and couldn't decide which one to choose.

The holly tree on the street swayed in the wind, and a few green leaves spun in the air before gently falling at his feet.

Grasping the handlebars tightly, his heart raced as he hesitated before finally speaking up, "Can you, help me, pick out a frame?"

"Sure," Cheng Chu agreed without hesitation.

A hint of surprise flashed in Gu Miao's eyes as he turned to look at her.

"Really?"

"What's the problem? When can we go see it?" Cheng Chu asked, her eyes bright with a warm smile.

Gu Miao lowered her gaze, seemingly pondering the timing.

She had piano practice on Wednesday and Thursday, and she didn't live near the school on weekends. Would it be too much trouble to go somewhere far away?

He thought and thought, but couldn't find a suitable time.

"How about we go now?" The girl's voice was light, like a cloud floating in the sky.

"W-what?" He was a little taken aback.

"It's the first day of school, so there won't be much homework. And you have a bike, so why not go now?"

Cheng Chu turned her head and looked at him, feeling like she might have been a little impulsive.

"If you're busy today, we can go tomorrow," she added.

Gu Miao shook his head repeatedly, "No, no, I have time, I have time."

A smile bloomed like fireworks from the girl's eyes, and she tilted her head slightly, saying, "Then let's go."

"Okay, okay." Gu Miao quickly got on the bike, feeling his clothes being gently tugged by a pair of hands.

He then pedaled into the sunset of the evening.

......

The eyeglass shop was not far from the school, only a dozen minutes away.

Two evergreen potted trees were placed at the entrance of the shop, full of vitality.

As soon as they stepped into the shop, the owner's eyes lit up and he greeted them with a smile.

"Hello, we want to see some frames that would suit him," Cheng Chu pointed to the boy behind her.

The owner looked at Gu Miao, squinted his eyes, and after a while, he hesitantly asked, "Young man, did you come here half a month ago?"

Gu Miao nodded. The boss instantly smiled, "Bringing your girlfriend to pick out frames this time?"

The bright incandescent lights in the store made Gu Miao's pale and handsome face turn as red as a baboon's butt in an instant.

He suddenly looked up and glanced in panic at Cheng Chu's back, stuttering to the boss, "No, no, not my girlfriend."

The boss looked at the two of them wearing high school uniforms and thought of his own youthful high school days.

Back then, he walked with the girl he liked and was also nervous, not knowing where to put his hands.

With a kind smile in his eyes, he said to Gu Miao, "I've been there before, I understand, I understand."

Gu Miao felt like the incandescent light above his head was like fire, making his face feel hot. The scorching heat slid down from his face, passed his neck and collarbone, and finally slowly spread into his heart.

He must be completely red now!

What is this boss talking about?

Saying such misleading words, what will others think!

Gu Miao's fingertips trembled nervously, the shop was quiet, and he could almost hear his own fast-paced heartbeat, following the surging blood, making him dizzy and enchanted.

He steadied his mind and couldn't help but look up at the girl's back.
