Chapter 43 - Military Department

This request really wasn't too high…

Upon hearing this, Chu Sui's usually city-wall-thick face rarely showed a bit of embarrassment, which inevitably bruised his young master's pride. He irritably slapped the water's surface: “Then what do you think I should do?”

The System was just a sphere, you couldn't expect it to come up with any good ideas. It rewatched Chu Sui's past life experiences on its light screen, and finally discovered that not all Male Zerg were thrown into prison; there were a few who managed to escape the calamity.

First, those with a pivotal status. Second, those with a good reputation. Third, Zerg Cub who hadn't come of age.

The System screened all the conditions in its mind, directly passing on the third one. Out of a certain desire to let Chu Sui be independent, it felt the first one could be attempted: [Actually, it's not hard to survive. There are many ways, it just depends on whether you're willing to try.]

Chu Sui had a strange feeling this wouldn't be good and frowned: “What way?”

The System thought for a moment: [Achieve a certain social status.]

Chu Sui was stunned for a moment: “What do you mean?”

The System could only break it down and explain it to him clearly: [Financial power, political power, or martial power. As long as you have one of these, your future safety will be guaranteed. You can go into business, or you can join the military as a civilian official, or… forget it, no matter how strong you are, you can't compare to a Female Zerg.]

Chu Sui: “…”

He understood what the System meant. It was about going out and making a name for himself in society. Chu Sui bit his fingertip and thought for a long time, not very happy about it. Making a name for himself in society meant he would have to endure hardship and work from nine to five, which clearly didn't align with Chu Sui's hedonism.

Chu Sui glanced at the System: “Hey, have you ever seen a Male Zerg go out to work? You can count them on one hand, okay? If word gets out, people will laugh at me.”

The small wings on the System's back flapped vigorously: [Being laughed at is better than waiting to die. Besides, didn't you say you wanted to try everything you haven't tried before? It's not bad to experience life.]

Chu Sui glared at it: “I've never eaten shit before, do I have to try that too?!”

System: […]

Arno was outside making the bed. After finishing, he noticed that Chu Sui had been in the bathroom for a long time without coming out. He hesitated for a moment, then bent his finger and knocked on the door: “Male Master?”

Chu Sui came back to his senses, stood up from the pool with a splash, dried his body, and hastily put on his clothes. When he pushed the door open and came out of the bathroom, he saw that Arno was already fully dressed. He glanced at him: “Are you going to the Military Department?”

Arno proactively stepped forward to straighten Chu Sui's buttons. His gaze inadvertently swept over the Blue Star Necklace around his neck, paused for a moment, then he re-fastened his collar and said in a low voice: “Yes, breakfast has been prepared for you.”

Chu Sui seemed to be thinking about something. He didn't say anything upon hearing that and went downstairs for breakfast. After the meal, just as Arno was clearing the dishes and preparing to leave, he suddenly pulled back his chair, stood up from his seat, and straightened his cuffs, saying: “I'll go with you.”

Arno's steps paused, and he turned back in surprise: “You're going with me?”

Chu Sui knew this request was strange and felt incredibly awkward inside, but he didn't show it on his face. He just gave an emotionless "en", looking quite aloof and cold: “Just to take a look around your workplace.”

Hearing this, Arno thought he just wanted to play: “But the Military Department is heavily guarded, not like other places. I'm afraid you'll get hurt…”

Chu Sui pretended not to hear and had already walked out the door with his hands behind his back. Seeing this, Arno had no choice but to follow. Watching him get into the Flyer, he knew that persuasion was useless. He could only take a seat opposite Chu Sui, glance at the pilot, and signal him to depart.

Chu Sui had always had a sloppy posture, crossing his legs like a lord. Fortunately, his good looks compensated for it, so he didn't seem rude, just casual and languid. He rested his chin on his hand and saw Arno sitting upright and formally opposite him, a total iceberg. He couldn't help but wonder how a person's demeanor could be so different in and out of bed.

Chu Sui raised an eyebrow and asked him: “Sitting so far away, are you afraid I'll eat you?”

Hearing this, Arno subconsciously looked at him, then rose from his seat and knelt silently by Chu Sui's leg. His back was still straight, his figure slender and handsome. He said in a low voice: “You misunderstand, I did not mean that.”

Chu Sui had no intention of making him kneel. He glanced down at him, then extended his right hand towards Arno and slightly crooked his fingertip. The latter hesitated before placing his hand on it, but the next second, Chu Sui pulled him into his arms, forcing him to sit on his lap.

Arno felt the scorching heat of his body, his back tensing uncontrollably. He let out a low sound: “Male Master—”

In the past, Chu Sui disliked this kind of oblivious and tactless person the most, but well, teasing him occasionally was quite fun: “Don't you think you're quite boring, like a block of wood?”

He spoke bluntly, without any pretense, which was inevitably hurtful.

Arno looked at him at his words, his fingertips tightening slightly. For some reason, the color drained from his lips: “I'm sorry… It's my fault for being so clumsy, unable to please you.”

'It's not that serious,' Chu Sui thought. His fingertips had only casually flicked Arno's collar twice, and the latter had already leaned forward on his own to facilitate his actions, his eyes lowered, concealing all his emotions.

Chu Sui remembered the gift he gave yesterday, and his words became less venomous. He said half-jokingly, “If you're more proactive next time, maybe I'll like you more.”

Arno remembered him saying something similar last night, and his heartbeat suddenly became chaotic for a moment: “Yes…”

But he didn't know how to be proactive.

Chu Sui guessed that he wouldn't know how to be proactive. He pinched Arno's chin and covered his cool lips. The soft touch made him linger for a while. Arno looked at Chu Sui's handsome face, so close, his eyelids trembling slightly as he gently responded to him. But his body remained tense, not daring to put his full weight on his legs, his voice low: “Male Master…”

He couldn't figure out Chu Sui's temper. Sometimes it was good, sometimes bad. Yesterday, when he received the gift, he had seemed displeased and angry, but in bed, he was gentler than ever before.

The Zerg Race was not a race skilled at kissing. The possibility of a Male Zerg kissing a Military Female was almost zero. Most intimate acts were for procreation. The bestial nature still flowed in their blood, making it difficult for them to be as tender and affectionate as humans.

Chu Sui wrapped his arms around Arno's lean waist, his fingertips slowly tightening over the fabric of his clothes. The neat military uniform gained a few wrinkles, and along with it, its owner's breathing began to grow erratic. Arno's kissing skills were clearly not as proficient as Chu Sui's. Before long, the corners of his eyes were red, and his body had softened.

Arno had been actively responding. His blue eyes were moist as he looked at Chu Sui with a hint of curiosity, asking in a hoarse voice, “Like this? Male Master.”

Chu Sui said, “Barely passable.”

Arno paused for a moment: “Then do you like it?”

Chu Sui glanced at him: “It's alright.”

As they spoke, they had already arrived at the Military Department. Arno got off Chu Sui's lap, quickly tidied his clothes, and re-buttoned the shirt that the Male Zerg had deliberately unbuttoned halfway. Only after confirming that nothing was out of place did he let out a subtle sigh of relief.

Arno still didn't understand why Chu Sui insisted on coming to the Military Department. Thinking of the pack of wolf-like Military Females inside, his steps faltered again and again, his tone hesitant: “Male Master, are you sure you want to go to the Military Department? There are many places inside where you can't walk around freely. I'm afraid I won't be able to look after you when I'm working…”

Chu Sui got out of the Flyer on his own accord: “Are you this indecisive on the battlefield too?”

Of course not.

Arno could only swallow the words that were on the tip of his tongue.

The Military Department was heavily guarded, with soldiers holding weapons patrolling everywhere. The guards at the gate saw Arno and, out of habit, raised their hands in a crisp military salute to greet him: “Sir…”

Before they could finish, they saw Chu Sui beside him, and their eyes all widened in unison, their expressions stunned as they lapsed into a daze. The guards once suspected they were hallucinating. How could a Male Zerg appear in the Military Department, and such a handsome Male Zerg at that?!!

The guards' gazes were scorching hot, stuck to Chu Sui like superglue, impossible to peel off. They stammered, “Sir, this is…”

Arno didn't answer, merely turned sideways to block their line of sight, frowning imperceptibly. His tone was cold: “Stand your posts properly.”

Then he looked at Chu Sui and explained in a low voice: “Male Master, the offices are inside.”

The guards nearby finally reacted. So it was Major General Arno's Male Master. No wonder he looked so familiar. They were already stunned by his celestial beauty when they saw him in the StarNet video, but they didn't expect the real person to be even better looking than in the video.

While their thoughts were wandering, the person in question had already walked away. Chu Sui was a man, after all, and had a natural interest in things like guns and soldiers. He didn't notice the scorching gazes cast upon him by the passing Female Zerg. He was just looking with interest at the huge training ground in the distance and the high-rise buildings that were comparable to those in an American sci-fi blockbuster.

The receptionist at the front desk of the Military Department was about to submit some documents when he saw Major General Arno leading a black-haired, black-eyed Male Zerg to the Light Elevator. He was so dazed by the latter's appearance that he almost collided with another Zerg in a moment of distraction, and the documents in his hand scattered everywhere.

What the hell, how could a Male Zerg appear in a place like this!

The usually lifeless Military Department was thrown into a small commotion by Chu Sui's appearance. Arno led Chu Sui into the Light Elevator, unconsciously loosening his collar as he thought of the Female Zerg who had been staring blankly at Chu Sui just now.

Chu Sui, however, was quite pleased, displaying the air of a playboy who flitted through a field of flowers without a single petal sticking to him, like in the human world. He said to Arno, “Your Military Department is quite interesting.”

Arno glanced at him, then lowered his eyes, lost in thought, unconsciously fiddling with his fingertips: “Actually, the Military Department is usually very busy with affairs and quite dull. I was afraid you would be bored.”

'Of course it's boring,' Chu Sui thought. As the saying goes, men and women working together makes the work less tiring. In the armies of the human world, there were at least female soldiers to feast one's eyes on. The Zerg Race's military was pitiful, consisting entirely of Military Females. Finding a single Male Zerg was harder than climbing to heaven. Of course it would be dull over time.

The Light Elevator arrived with a ding. Chu Sui thought this place was really high. Looking down from the transparent elevator door, the passing Female Zerg below became dense black dots. It was so high it pierced the clouds, almost triggering his fear of heights.

He stepped out of the Light Elevator. The outside was uniformly designed in cool tones. The floor was so polished it was like a mirror, reflecting the light from the crystal chandelier on the top floor, giving off a cool brilliance. The long corridors on both the left and right were divided into many office rooms.

Seeing Chu Sui's curiosity, Arno paused and said: “My office is on the right. Would you… like to take a look?”

Chu Sui was here to scout out the situation, so he said, “Let's go take a look.”

Then, as if remembering something, he asked, “Can outsiders go in?”

Although Male Zerg had a revered status, a military stronghold was no joke. Chu Sui might be audacious, but he didn't want to lose his life playing around.

Arno smiled: “Of course you can.”

The places where confidential documents were kept were heavily guarded. Even a powerful SSS-class Military Female couldn't completely break in, let alone a Male Zerg. Moreover, the Military Department had no explicit rule that family members couldn't visit. Occasionally, colleagues' family members would come to deliver things, but they were all Female Zerg, never a Male Zerg.

Arno walked to the office area, hesitated for a second, then grasped the doorknob. A faint red light scanned his face up and down, then the lock clicked open. He stepped inside, then turned sideways to wait for Chu Sui to enter before closing the door again.

He had thought the outer area was already vast, but he didn't expect the inside to be another world. The Military Department was indeed as busy as Arno had said. People were coming and going. In just those few seconds, Chu Sui had already seen four high-ranking military officers in different uniforms pass by him.

At first, no Female Zerg noticed them. Adjutant Fedi came out to make a copy and inadvertently saw Arno. He hurried over to salute: “Major General, you… uh…”

He was caught off guard by the sight of Chu Sui behind him. The words on the tip of his tongue got stuck, and he almost bit his own tongue. He couldn't help but widen his eyes. Because of his shout, the military officers working nearby also subconsciously glanced towards the door. For a moment, they all stopped what they were doing in unison. The originally noisy office suddenly fell into a subtle silence.

Chu Sui: “…”
