Chapter 169

A Little Impatient Part 1

He loves you.

Those words from Rong Zhouzhong kept echoing in Shi Jin's mind even after they finished dinner and returned to their hotel room.

Fei Yujing, love, these two words were now somehow connected in his mind. It made sense, though. Fei Yujing was a human being, and like any human being, he could fall in love or hate someone without even realizing it.

But why couldn't Shi Jin imagine what Fei Yujing's love would look like? Every time he thought of the man's name, the first thing that came to mind was his cold and indifferent expression and gaze.

"Fei Yujing's love..." Shi Jin murmured to himself. Suddenly, a memory flashed through his mind of Fei Yujing leaning against the captain's room on the ship, looking disheveled and vulnerable.

It was perhaps the moment when he most clearly and intuitively felt that Fei Yujing really cared about him... But even in that moment of surviving a disaster, there was still no extra expression on Fei Yujing's face. Even before that, when Li Jiuzheng went crazy because their ship was surrounded, Fei Yujing was still able to tie him up rationally and prevent him from disturbing others.

How rational must one be to achieve such a level? Has Fei Yujing ever had emotional outbursts or breakdowns?

Shi Jin tried to recall the scene when he first met Fei Yujing, and finally realized that the biggest emotional fluctuation Fei Yujing had in front of him was actually two years ago at a conference, when they reunited and Shi Jin threatened to harm Fei Yujing's mother if he ever used him again.

[Out of everyone in this world who can make me give so much, my mom is the first, and you are the second]

The words that Fei Yujing had said that morning flashed through his mind. His finger trembled, and he shamefully felt a sense of joy - was he really that important to Fei Yujing now? Had he become someone who could affect Fei Yujing's emotions?

[You don't want a response from me emotionally, but rather an emotional need.]

His heart pounding, he raised his hand to his forehead and said, "Why did I remember that sentence..."

But... it was indeed a need. Fei Yujing had hit the nail on the head. The slight joy he had felt earlier was because he had suddenly realized that Fei Yujing might need him emotionally, that he valued him. "Why does Fei Yujing always seem to hit the mark? How deeply does he understand emotions and human nature?"

Suddenly, Shi Jin felt a pang of pain. He was ridiculous for indulging in such pointless thoughts and being so full of human weaknesses. Then he laughed at himself, realizing how silly it was to feel both joy and pain over such trivial emotions. He was a grown man, and yet he was acting like a fool.

If only he could be like Fei Yujing, effortlessly handling his emotions like a suave and sophisticated person...

Buzz.

His phone vibrated, interrupting his thoughts. He picked it up and saw that it was a text message from Fei Yujing. He paused for a moment, then opened it.

Fei Yujing: The caregiver left. Can you come to the hospital and keep me company?

Shi Jin's eyes widened in disbelief.

Can you come to the hospital and keep me company? Can you? Keep me company?

What, Fei Yujing actually spoke in such a tone. Fei Yujing even used the phrase 'keep him company', which sounds weak. Fei Yujing actually... took the initiative to make a request to him.

Isn't this the same person who always does a bunch of things on his own and then forces them on you without allowing you to refuse, and then leaves in a carefree manner? This kind of person actually wants someone to accompany him. Shouldn't this kind of person use a commanding tone that doesn't allow refusal when making such a request? Just like when he orders Rong Zhouzhong.

Buzz.

Another text message came in, still from Fei Yujing: My wound hurts a bit.

Shi Jin let out an "ah" without meaning to, looking at the text message, trying to imagine Fei Yujing's expression of pain, but in the end, he gained nothing.

After a moment of silence, he suddenly stood up and walked quickly towards the hotel room door.

"To go accompany someone I just argued with this morning...I must be crazy!" He scorned himself, but his steps quickened nonetheless.

......

Shi Jin practically ran to the hospital, but paused intentionally outside the ward. After taking a few deep breaths, he calmly pushed open the door.

Fei Yujing was resting with his eyes closed on the hospital bed. Upon hearing the door open, he opened his eyes and asked, "Did you run here?"

Shi Jin's steps faltered, and he almost lost his composure. He retorted, "I walked here. You're not really going to make me collect your corpse, are you? You're not that important."

"But it takes about fifteen minutes to walk from your hotel to here. You would have had to walk fast to get here in nine minutes," Fei Yujing picked up his phone and checked the time before saying.

"Are you looking for a fight?" Shi Jin asked expressionlessly.

Fei Yujing glanced at his slightly disheveled hair, saw through his intentions but didn't call him out on it, and instead patted the edge of the bed, saying, "No, I don't want to fight. I can't beat you right now. Come over here and sit."

Shi Jin: "......" Suddenly understanding why Rong Zhouzhong always wanted to fight Fei Yujing, he also felt the urge to beat him up fiercely.

Shi Jin approached and sat down, and Fei Yujing poured him a glass of water, starting a conversation by asking, "Was dinner good?"

"It was. Third Brother always knows where the good restaurants are," Shi Jin replied stiffly, with a hint of defiance. Then he realized how foolish he was being and his expression became even more tense - he was being led around by the nose by Fei Yujing, like a complete idiot!

Meanwhile, Fei Yujing remained indifferent, while he was lost in his own thoughts. He was too foolish!

'Be tough!' he commanded himself in his mind.

"Still angry?" Fei Yujing asked.

"No!" Shi Jin replied quickly, feeling that he couldn't continue like this. He had to take back control of the conversation. So he immediately countered, "Aren't you in pain from your wound? Where does it hurt? Have you called the doctor?"

"I did. The doctor said the pain is normal and that the wound needs time to heal," Fei Yujing replied.

Shi Jin glanced at his expression and the hospital gown covering his chest and said, "You don't look like you're in pain at all."

"What kind of expression should I have when I'm in pain?" Fei Yujing softened his tone, "Actually, I'm already enduring a lot of pain."

Enduring? Shi Jin was taken aback, then frowned and carefully scanned him. Finally, he found a trace related to endurance on his body - Fei Yujing's forehead seemed to be sweating. His heart moved, and he leaned over to look at his back. Sure enough, he saw a slightly damp spot on the patient's gown. Unable to resist, he stood up.

Fei Yujing looked up at him and asked, "What's wrong? Do you think it's too boring to accompany me and want to leave?"

"Do you think you'll lose your flesh if you say something soft? You're in so much pain that you're sweating, yet you still have a nonchalant look on your face. Have you forgotten how to move your facial muscles?" Shi Jin scolded him, bent over to confirm the situation on his back, then turned to the bathroom to fetch a basin of warm water and gestured for him to turn around.

Fei Yujing glanced at him and obediently complied. His shirt on the back was already half wet, indicating that he had endured the pain for a long time. With his lips tightly pursed, Shi Jin took out a towel and carefully removed the patient's gown, revealing a huge bruise on his waist and several abrasions on his back. His fingers couldn't help but tighten.

"Scared?" Fei Yujing asked, still annoyingly calm.

Shi Jin had the urge to press down on the patient's wound and make him scream in pain. He pushed Fei Yujing's head back with a black face, carefully covering the patient's back with the towel and wiping it gently. "No," he replied.

Fei Yujing was honest for a moment, then asked, "Is it because you feel sorry for me?"

"I'd rather feel sorry for a pig than you," Shi Jin retorted.

Fei Yujing was amused by his defiant words and said, "So you like pigs."

Can you still laugh like that? Doesn't it hurt a lot?

Shi Jin was holding back his anger and couldn't help but say, "If you're not feeling well, tell the doctor. If it's really bad, you can take some medicine. Don't just tough it out. And when I came this morning, you were still working despite being injured. Resting more is the key to a faster recovery. Can't you take it easy on work?"

Fei Yujing explained, "It's precisely because it hurts that I wanted to shift my focus to work."

What kind of ridiculous distraction method is this? Shi Jin was really about to be driven crazy by him and said, "Then why are you just sitting there now?"
