Chu Yi beside him was sleeping like a pig. The bed was small to begin with, and he kept squeezing over, so eventually Yan Hang just sat up leaning against the headboard.
But that didn't help him escape either, Chu Yi continued to squeeze over and hugged his leg.
"Damn, why are you so annoying," Yan Hang slapped his back.
Chu Yi didn't even grunt, completely motionless.
"You can't be slapped awake?" Yan Hang hit him again.
Chu Yi was still sleeping as if he had overdosed on sleeping pills, not moving at all.
"Dog!" Yan Hang continued slapping him.
Chu Yi smacked his lips.
"Wag your tail!" Yan Hang flicked his face twice.
Chu Yi scratched his face.
"You sleep god," Yan Hang sighed, rubbing his face. "It's so nice not to have worries."
Yan Hang was quite envious of Chu Yi's simple way of living. He did worry about things but not in an entangled way, and his emotions didn't fluctuate too severely. After all, he was a child who grew up in that kind of family and still didn't get ruined. His psychological endurance was stronger than Yan Hang's, who was doted on by his dad no matter what.
"Dog," Yan Hang pinched a wisp of Chu Yi's hair. "Dog, dog, gogogo! Gogogo..."
Chu Yi probably felt truly at ease now. Chu Jianxin was arrested and released without charge. Uncle Yan, whom he had worried about the most, could now be confirmed as safe.
For Chu Yi, he could let his guard down.
Yan Hang yawned. What about himself?
He could also say he felt at ease now. Even if the photos were taken when he first became the head waiter, it wasn't too long ago. Besides, the photos were old with frayed edges, indicating they had been in the pendant for quite some time.
Tsk.
To think his dad actually had such girly thoughts. He missed his dad so much but never thought of keeping photos in a pendant to look at from time to time... At most he would take a glance at them on his phone.
Yan Hang didn't know when he fell asleep. When he woke up, he was already lying down but still hugged tightly by Chu Yi.
"Damn, I've never seen a dog like you," Yan Hang was speechless. He grabbed Chu Yi's arm and flung him aside. "Get lost! No dog food for you today!"
After being flung by him, Chu Yi rolled over and fell straight off the bed with a thud.
Yan Hang froze for a moment before quickly sitting up.
Chu Yi's reaction was faster than a dog's. The moment he made the thud, he bounced up from the floor like he had springs installed and stood by the bed.
"Nice skills, little brother." Yan Hang looked up at him.
Chu Yi didn't speak. He stared blankly for a long time before coming to his senses. Staring at the bed then at Yan Hang, he gritted his teeth and said, "You, you bully!"
"You..." Yan Hang was very shocked, but still lowered his head to look at the bed. Only then did he realize he had already slept to the edge of the bed. Based on their position just now, Chu Yi would have definitely fallen off the bed if he hadn't been hugging him. He raised his head again and nodded at Chu Yi, "That's right, I'm a bully."
"I was dr,dreaming," Chu Yi said as he got dressed. "That I was on a cliff hugging a boulder all night, daren't let go..."
"Get lost," Yan Hang laughed while lying in bed looking at him. "I haven't settled scores with you for squeezing me all night yesterday."
"Too vengeful," Chu Yi threw his clothes onto the bed and turned to go into the bathroom to wash up.
Yan Hang laughed for a while longer in bed before slowly getting up. He walked to the window and drew the curtains. Then he stretched lazily.
The sunshine today wasn't bad. Going out would definitely cause one to sweat, but it'd be quite comfortable to visit attractions under the sun.
"Hurry up and wash! Brush teeth!" Chu Yi poked his head out of the bathroom and shouted.
"Fuck!" Yan Hang was startled and looked back. "You scared me!"
"How can you walk the Jianghu being so easily frightened," Chu Yi said. "The breakfast coupons probably expire at 8:30 right?"
"Bullshit," Yan Hang said. "9:30 or even 10."
"Let me see," Chu Yi, a 7th grader, took out his coat and pulled out the breakfast coupons from his pocket to take a look, "9:30, how did you know that? Oh you work at the hotel."
"You still kept the two breakfast coupons in your pocket?" Yan Hang laughed, not knowing what to say.
"It's a buffet," Chu Yi said.
"Silly dog," Yan Hang went over to hug him and rubbed him forcefully on his head and back, "Do you think the complimentary buffet breakfast is the same as the one we had at the revolving restaurant?"
"At least it's, it's unlimited," Chu Yi said firmly.
"Fine, hurry hurry!" Yan Hang let him go and dashed into the bathroom to quickly start washing up, "I'll have to pinch pennies out of you sooner or later."
"A 20 thousand, dollar car," Chu Yi said.
"Okay," Yan Hang nearly choked on his toothpaste foam.
The hotel's buffet breakfast was decent, with porridge, noodles, soy milk, all kinds of buns, dumplings and snacks. Chu Yi didn't actually eat that much.
"I thought you were going to eat everything on that table," Yan Hang said as he walked into the elevator, "Ambitious."
"Leave some for, for others," Chu Yi said.
A young girl in a staff uniform walked in after them and first asked, "Which floor?"
"First floor," Yan Hang said.
The girl pressed the button for the first floor and Yan Hang smiled, "Thank you."
"You're welcome," the girl moved to the side, glancing at their faces from time to time.
When they arrived at the first floor and exited the elevator, the girl followed behind them and softly asked, "You're Xingtian right?"
Yan Hang paused and turned around.
"Oh my god," the girl covered her mouth and whispered excitedly, "It's you right? Brother Xiao Tian and Puppy!"
"...Let's take her out and silence her," Yan Hang said.
"No no, don't silence me," the girl quickly waved her hands, "I won't take pictures or tell anyone, I'm just excited for myself. I really like you two, I think you both look very handsome, the puppy is so cute, too cute..."
Before Yan Hang could say anything, the girl had already turned and ran down the hallway softly shouting "So handsome! Cute cute!"
"You're completely, completely exposed," Chu Yi said.
"Yeah," Yan Hang smiled and turned to walk towards the hotel entrance.
"Can't maintain, anonymity anymore huh," Chu Yi said.
"Not maintaining it anymore," Yan Hang stretched his arms.
"Why, why?" Chu Yi said, "Gonna rely, rely on your face from now on?"
"I really want to hit you," Yan Hang sighed and put his arm around his shoulder, "From now on, it'll be different than before."
