Chapter 125

Chapter 79 Part 1

A long night, with the intention to sleep.

Yet someone wants to tease the dog.

Dogs also have dignity, they can't always obediently let themselves be teased. When pushed to the limit, they will resist.

So the battle between teasing the dog and the dog teasing back was quite intense.

They were both panting heavily.

The bed sheet was also twisted into wave patterns during the fight, and the quilt was thrown onto the floor.

To be honest, when Yan Hang jumped off the bed and rushed into the bathroom to take a shower first, Chu Yi sat blankly on the messy bed, feeling this didn't look at all like a dog teasing scene, this looked exactly like the scene after doing it once.

"Puppy, change the bed sheet!" Yan Hang called out after entering the bathroom.

"Why should I?" Chu Yi sat cross-legged on the messy bed sheet.

Yan Hang ignored him and closed the bathroom door.

Chu Yi sighed. He's not bullied by everyone now, just bullied by one person.

Before Yan Hang finished showering, he obediently got off the bed to take out a set of clean sheets and changed them, considering Yan Hang's level of fussiness and tendency to bully people, the quilt cover that was dragged onto the floor would definitely need changing as well.

So he changed the quilt cover too.

When Yan Hang came out, Chu Yi was hugging the old bedding about to take them to wash.

"So obedient." Yan Hang went over to give him a kiss.

"This kind of small, um, small favor won't curry favor with me." Chu Yi said as he left the bedroom.

"Let me scrub your back." Yan Hang said from inside the room.

"No need." Chu Yi sighed. "I'm afraid you'll hit me."

Yan Hang lay in bed laughing for a long time.

Chu Yi stuffed the bedding into the washing machine, then squatted in front of the washing machine.

His family had a very old washing machine. When washing clothes, it felt like forced demolition. It was supposed to be fully automatic, but if no one participated in the washing, it basically wouldn't finish washing by itself.

This was his first time using the rolling drum type. Yan Hang was the one who operated it before, washing and then taking the laundry out to hang dry.

Although he was unrefined, his brain worked well. After watching for a bit, he understood how it worked. He poked around and chose what seemed to be the most water and electricity saving option, then went back to the bedroom.

Whether it was from teasing the dog or being teased by the dog, Yan Hang had already fallen asleep tilted to one side in the short time he was taking things to wash.

Chu Yi quickly and quietly got into bed and pulled up the covers, pressing mute on all his actions.

Listening to Yan Hang's steady breathing, he felt relieved.

From finding out about his dad's news all the way to asking about what happened and now, he always felt like he was just about to relax but that relaxation never seemed to fully come.

Now hearing Yan Hang's sleeping breaths, he finally truly relaxed.

In any case, this matter could be considered finished for the time being.

Although Uncle Yan was still missing, and Old Ding's accomplices were not caught, at least the matter that changed their lives has been made clear.

Chu Yi also slept very soundly.

But he woke up suddenly in the middle of the night, because Yan Hang beside him made a big movement all of a sudden, as if wanting to sit up, yet he didn't actually wake up.

Chu Yi groggily reached out to hug him, patting his arm lightly.

Yan Hang was probably having a nightmare. He wanted to say something to comfort Yan Hang, but before he could think of what to say, he fell asleep again.

When he woke up in the morning, he felt pretty good, especially when seeing Yan Hang doing lazy stretches facing the soft golden sunlight on the balcony, he didn't even have morning grouchiness anymore.

"Did you sleep well?" He asked, still lying in bed.

"Not bad," Yan Hang said. "But it seems I had a nightmare."

"Yeah." Chu Yi nodded. "You did."

"I dreamed of my dad." Yan Hang tsked. "I should be happy to dream about him, but I ended up dreaming about the case, pretty scary."

"He's fine now." Chu Yi said. "His injury healed long ago."

"Yeah." Yan Hang turned and came into the room, giving his butt a slap as he passed by. "Get up, I need to go to the hotel early today."

"Why?" Chu Yi sat up.

"I'm going to the kitchen today to make some dishes." Yan Hang said. "Preparing to enter the back kitchen."

"Really?" Chu Yi jumped off the bed, following behind Yan Hang. "Then, then you'll be Chef Yan from now on?"

"You sure know how to think big." Yan Hang laughed. "I won't be chef just from getting an opportunity to follow in the kitchen, if the head chef heard you say that he'd glare at you."

"You will, in the future." Chu Yi said.

Yan Hang turned back and kissed him on the lips. "Quite the sweet talker."

Yan Hang's journey in the back kitchen went rather smoothly. In less than a month, after several assessment dishes, he finally got to work in the kitchen like he wished.

For Chu Yi, although the pay wasn't as high as being a head waiter, as long as Yan Hang was happy, it was a good job.

The only tiny regret was...the uniform wasn't as good looking as the front hall!

Yan Hang stood in front of the changing room mirror and took a picture for him in the chef's garb.

- White clothes fluttering

- Don't glorify the chef uniform like this, these clothes don't flutter

- The black apron is still beautiful

- Is that an apron? I thought it was a skirt, you didn't take the full picture

Yan Hang then took another full body picture over, with black pants.

- This outfit can only be saved by your face

Chu Yi replied.

- Doesn't matter since you can't see it when you come eat anyway

- If I come eat, would I be able to eat dishes you made?

- No, at best you'd be eating dishes I assisted with

Chu Yi smiled at his phone for a long time.

Actually after looking some more, it didn't seem that ugly anymore. After all it was Yan Hang, he could pull off any clothes.

Yan Hang adapted to the back kitchen job very quickly. Chu Yi could feel that he was happier in the kitchen compared to when he was head waiter. He would also talk about what he did every day, what dishes he secretly learned and such.

When he was head waiter, Chu Yi barely heard him talk about work.

When life settles down, time passes quickly. Chu Yi always felt like the semester had just started, he didn't even realize finals were almost upon them.

Today their group went with the teacher to the auto repair shop for some hands-on experience. The teacher drove them over in the school's beat-up car, and the dorm mates were more excited than if they were going on vacation.

"Do you think there might be a car today that actually has a problem for us to tinker with?" Hu Biao asked the teacher.

"You can listen and see," the teacher said. "If you want to get your hands dirty fixing cars, it's still too early."

"But what if we're geniuses?" Zhang Qiang said. "We never get a chance to work on full cars. How else will we discover our talents?"

"Of you auto shop guys, the only one who shows any promise," the teacher said, "is Chu Yi. The rest of you just know how to chat up girls."

"That's not true," Gao Xiaoyang said. "I don't chat up girls. I just sleep. No time for romance."

Everyone laughed.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Chu Yi felt somewhat sentimental. Aside from the one car the principal uses occasionally to keep up appearances, none of the school's cars were in good shape. Just turning them on resulted in all kinds of clanking noises.
