Chapter 8

The Big Shot in the Wheelchair 8

If it weren't for the fact that he contracted a terminal illness and had to go to the Naxi Port Hospital on Beta 68 Centauri for treatment, Su Jinzhi felt he would probably never have left Earth. And his only regret before his death was probably failing to return to Earth and die on that land.

Fortunately, his drawing skills could still be put to use here—either to relieve his own boredom or to please his patron.

Su Jinzhi was so immersed in the world of art that he forgot the time, painting for more than an hour straight. Qin Yezhou was patient enough, sitting upright in the wheelchair for more than an hour with a smile on his lips, just to act as his model.

Qin Yezhou actually could have continued sitting, but Su Jinzhi's health was poor. Seeing that it was almost 11 o'clock, he turned his wheelchair and moved in front of Su Jinzhi, pressing down on his pen. His voice was still gentle, but carried an irrefutable firmness: "Alright, it's very late, you should sleep. I will continue to be your model tomorrow."

Su Jinzhi froze, raised his head to look at the clock on the bedside table, then lowered his head and sighed in disappointment: "It's actually 11 o'clock already..."

The young man's fine, soft hair was slightly curled from his sleep, the tips forming small loops. His drooping eyelashes concealed those beautiful, clear, light tea-colored eyes. And that delicate little face, which looked as if God had personally sketched it stroke by stroke, under the illumination of the warm-colored wall lamp, made him look as pure and innocent as an angel.

Qin Yezhou looked at him with slightly darkened eyes, but the corners of his lips had been raised the entire time. He raised his hand and gently rubbed his head: "Be good, it's not like you can't draw tomorrow."

"Then I'll show it to Mr. Qin after I finish drawing tomorrow." Su Jinzhi closed the sketchbook upon hearing him say this and put it back in the drawer.

Hearing this, Qin Yezhou just smiled and agreed, "Okay."

After the two washed up, they quickly lay on the bed together.

It had to be said that this room was built really well. Although they turned off the lights, the room was not dark at all. The vast starlight poured down from the night sky like a torrent. They traveled tens of millions of light-years through the silent universe, tearing through the confinement of time to arrive here, meeting and converging with his line of sight. And perhaps at the very moment he saw it, that star on the other side of the universe had long since fallen in the furious torrent of cosmic tides, turning into dust beneath the throne of God.

Therefore, even though Su Jinzhi had seen such a beautiful starry scenery millions of times and would no longer be amazed by it, he would still be awed by it.

"Does it look good?" Qin Yezhou suddenly asked him.

Su Jinzhi was puzzled: You've obviously already asked this question once, why ask it again now?

So he answered indifferently, "It looks good."

The tone of his voice was calm and flat, sounding entirely lacking in sincerity, more like a casual brush-off.

Su Jinzhi stiffened his body after his words fell. He paused and was just about to say something to remedy it, when he heard Qin Yezhou continue to ask him: "Then do you think there are really aliens in this world?"

"Of course there are!" Su Jinzhi answered at a rapid pace this time, his voice sonorous and forceful to show his firm belief.

Qin Yezhou fell silent for a while, turned his head, and asked him with a smile, "Why is Jinzhi so certain?"

Bullshit, I've fucking seen one, and that alien looks exactly like you.

But even if Su Jinzhi was given a hundred times more courage, he still wouldn't dare say these words out loud.

He thought about it, recalling how he used to alleviate his loneliness when he lived alone on Earth. After being quiet for a while, he said softly, "Because in another place, there is another person waiting for me."

These words were what his mother, in his memory, had said to him while holding his hand before she left.

She said, "Jinzhi, you must live well, because in this universe, there is another person waiting for you. When you meet him, you should run towards him regardless of everything, and speak your love out loud, because our lives are so short, you don't know when you might suddenly leave, making him wait forever and never get to see the you he loves."

They were humans from Earth; their lives were only a short hundred years. What was even more unlucky was that in his previous life, he couldn't even live to be a quarter of a hundred years old...

But using these words to answer Qin Yezhou made it sound as if he was going to find an alien to spend the rest of his life with.

And hearing him say this, Qin Yezhou turned his head with a smile, gazing at the young man meticulously molded by God.

The man's black pupils, exposed under the starlight, were still gloomy, so black that they were scorching, like a massive black void at the center of the galaxy. Although it attracted thousands of light specks and nebulas to eternally revolve around him, it would forever remain as dim as yesterday.

But he slowly moved his burning lips to Su Jinzhi's ear. His voice was deep, like the profound murmurs of the earth in response to the rare warm winds brushing through the valleys during the time Su Jinzhi stayed on Earth. He asked, "Then has Jinzhi met the person he was waiting for?"

Hearing this, Su Jinzhi's eyes suddenly widened, but his pupils contracted slightly. However, Qin Yezhou obviously had no intention of asking him to answer quickly. He was still smiling, then raised his hand to embrace the slender and flexible waist of the person beside him, gently resting his head on the young man's shoulder, sighing, "I think I have already found that person I was waiting for, because there is no sea of stars in my world."

Su Jinzhi murmured in confusion, "Why..."

Qin Yezhou closed his eyes and dropped a kiss on his temple: "The moment I met you, all the stars, because of you, will turn to dust."

As soon as Qin Yezhou's words fell, his total salvation progress immediately skyrocketed by 15 points. Added to the previous points, it was 47 points in total, just 3 points away from reaching halfway.

Su Jinzhi was stunned by this sudden Progress Value, completely ignoring what Qin Yezhou had just said.

"Asleep?" Seeing that the young man had no reaction after hearing his words, Qin Yezhou looked down, only to see the angel favored by God lying quietly in his arms. The fan-like long eyelashes covered those radiant eyes, and the beautiful, delicate face glowed with a soft, moist white jade color under the starlight, tempting people to reach out and touch it.

Qin Yezhou stroked his silky, smooth face. Seeing that the young man still had no reaction, his crimson lips pursed and his warm body pressed closely against him gently rising and falling with his breathing, he twitched the corners of his lips and smiled: "You bad child..."

But the bad child Su Jinzhi hadn't fallen asleep at all; he was currently having an intense discussion with No. 1 about this newly increased 15 points of Progress Value.

"No. 1, look! It's 15 points!"

No. 1 was also a bit stunned: "This... doesn't seem quite right..."

Su Jinzhi didn't care. He was now so happy he was going crazy, and didn't care about what Qin Yezhou said at all: "Actually, this mission is quite easy to do."

No. 1 let out two "Hehe" laughs and stopped talking.

This night, Qin Yezhou and Su Jinzhi did nothing at all, just covering themselves with a blanket and purely sleeping. The next day, Qin Yezhou woke up early and called a doctor to check Su Jinzhi's body. Only after the doctor repeatedly assured him that his body was fine did he allow Su Jinzhi to get out of bed.

"Mr. Qin, is today a special day?" Su Jinzhi tugged at the exquisitely crafted gray suit vest he was wearing over his shirt and asked.

Qin Yezhou sat in the wheelchair, his snow-white shirt buttoned up to the top button. His lower body was covered with a dark blue cashmere blanket, and his slender fingers casually and elegantly overlapped on his lap. The gray-black suit he was wearing was the same shade as Su Jinzhi's clothes, making it obvious at a glance that they were wearing couple's outfits.

After Su Jinzhi finished getting dressed, he looked up at him, only to find that his deep eyes had been watching him the whole time. It was just that the two were too far apart, and those gray pupils were hidden in the shadows, so Su Jinzhi couldn't see the emotions in his eyes clearly.

"No." Qin Yezhou smiled and answered his question, "It's just that someone wants to treat you to a meal."

Su Jinzhi pointed to himself in confusion: "Me?"

Qin Yezhou raised an eyebrow and said, "Yes, to treat you."

Su Jinzhi chuckled twice, lowered his head, and said in a small voice, "Mr. Qin must be joking with me. How could I possibly have..." He didn't finish his sentence, but he didn't need to. After all, the people he knew on this cruise ship were just his former colleagues, but they would absolutely not invite him to a meal.

Hearing this, Qin Yezhou beckoned to him and pulled him to the side of his wheelchair. He held Su Jinzhi's fair hands, lowered his eyes, and almost reverently placed a kiss on the young man's fingertips. His voice was beautiful, extravagant, and deep, like the lowest fourth string of a cello: "Jinzhi is like an angel. Everyone yearns to catch a glimpse of you, how could there not be anyone?"

As soon as Su Jinzhi got close to Qin Yezhou, he smelled the scent of ebony and aloeswood on him, as if mixed with a trace of choking tobacco, sexy, mysterious, and deep, like an abyssal behemoth dormant in the ocean, beckoning to you in the depths of darkness, enticing you to fall into the bottom of the abyss. Therefore, even though the man's lips touching his fingertips were hot and soft, gently brushing across a certain corner of his heart, Su Jinzhi was still like a kitten whose tongue had been scalded by boiling hot juice, abruptly withdrawing his hand.

The young man's action was too violent. Qin Yezhou maintained the posture of kissing his fingertips and raised his head. The darkness at the bottom of his pupils made Su Jinzhi unable to help but take a step back. But taking a closer look, that darkness abruptly disappeared. The man was still smiling, his deep and handsome face full of doting affection: "Let's go, Jinzhi."

Su Jinzhi lowered his head, not daring to meet the man's eyes, softly gave an "En", and stepped forward, pushing Qin Yezhou's wheelchair outside.

Along the way, Su Jinzhi was thinking about how to explain what just happened to Qin Yezhou: "Mr. Qin..."

"What's wrong?"

Su Jinzhi hesitated: "Just now, I..."

Qin Yezhou smiled: "Does Jinzhi not like me?"

Su Jinzhi quickly replied: "Of course not!"

"That's enough." Qin Yezhou's fingers resting on the wheelchair gently tapped the armrest. "The rest isn't important."

Hearing these words, Su Jinzhi's emotions became even more complicated.

Qin Yezhou was his first man; before him, he had never been so close to anyone. People in the future interstellar era were very open-minded. It didn't matter who you slept with a few times. Some people, in order to seek thrills, would even specifically go looking for people from other planets with different morphologies within the Interstellar Alliance to have sex with.

He had stayed alone on Earth for a long time. It wasn't that he didn't have the thought of finding a companion to accompany him, but he had to give up due to various reasons.

The reason why he initially agreed to bind this system with No. 0 was not just because he didn't want to die yet and wanted to live a little longer, nor was it just to take another look at this prosperous and diverse world.

He was just afraid of loneliness; he wanted someone to be able to accompany him.

And as for Qin Yezhou, apart from having a face exactly like that alien, he seemed pretty good in every other aspect.

Anyway, he hadn't invested his true feelings, so if Qin Yezhou continued to treat him so well, could he try... continuing to live together with him after the mission was completed?

Regardless of whether Qin Yezhou's feelings for him were true or false, and regardless of whether he would suddenly have a change of heart someday in the future, please don't let him die all alone.

Thinking of this, a sudden suffocating pain transmitted from Su Jinzhi's heart, forcing him to stop in his tracks.

"Detected 5 points of Affection Value." No. 1's cold mechanical voice came, "Host, please control your emotions well."
