Chapter 2

The Big Shot in the Wheelchair 2

No. 1 was very seriously messing with him, giving him the most painful way for a heart disease patient to suffer an attack.

The body provided to him by the System was not only extremely prone to seasickness, but also a congenital heart disease patient. The Vice Captain originally didn't even agree to let him board the ship. It was only after he promised a lot of benefits he would give him once he got together with Mr. Qin that the Vice Captain agreed to let him on board.

However, Su Jinzhi himself actually wasn't sure at first whether he could really get close to that Qin Yezhou, but his face seemed pretty good in the Vice Captain's eyes, so he surprisingly agreed.

Su Jinzhi felt this was very unscientific, but after No. 0 told him that this was a cheat it had helped him unlock, Su Jinzhi felt there was nothing unscientific about it anymore.

However, to prevent Su Jinzhi's illness from causing him trouble, the work the Vice Captain arranged for him was relatively light and leisurely. And because of this, he solidified his reputation in the eyes of his colleagues as the "little slut who seduced the Vice Captain," leading him to be constantly ostracized and treated coldly. But while his colleagues spent all day cursing him as a slut who bribed the Vice Captain with his body, they didn't know that the only things he used to bribe the Vice Captain were money and empty promises.

The person Su Jinzhi truly wanted to "seduce" was Qin Yezhou, who had only boarded the Atlantis today.

As soon as Qin Yezhou boarded the ship, he went to the observation deck on the 15th deck, saying something about—wanting to watch the stars after sunset? It was said that he chartered the top three decks of this ship just to get away from the city with its ceaseless lights all night, and to watch a dazzling display of twinkling stars on the silent night sea.

If it weren't for this, Su Jinzhi wouldn't have needed to spend fifty thousand yuan just to get on this ship and bribe the Vice Captain to let him be the waiter serving Qin Yezhou.

But it was also exactly because of this that the Vice Captain specially instructed their team leader not to let him do any heavy lifting or take on too much work; just putting on a show of wiping a glass every day would be enough.

Right now, although this body of his had congenital heart disease, before today, the one controlling the System had always been No. 0. So, even though he hadn't been by the Salvation Target's side for three months, he had never suffered an attack—this wasn't normal at all.

Logically speaking, in order to supervise and urge him to actively complete tasks, it was impossible for No. 1 to go this easy on him.

But now, it seemed No. 1 wanted to concentrate all the punishments missed during those three months together, putting intense pressure on his heart.

Su Jinzhi curled up on the ground, panting heavily, but he felt the suffocating pain in his heart getting worse and worse. He tried hard to steady his trembling and numb hands, which were shaking like a seizure, and pulled out the heart medication he carried with him from his pants pocket.

But in the next moment, the medicine bottle dropped because his hands were shaking too severely, rolling into a corner by the wall that he simply couldn't reach in his current state.

Listening to Su Jinzhi's painful gasps, No. 1 said unhurriedly in an icy, mechanical electronic voice, "Because the host previously slacked off for three months, and twenty-five minutes ago it was detected that the host generated five points of hatred towards the Salvation Target, a level three punishment is specially implemented as a warning."

Su Jinzhi's body was being tortured, but No. 1 kept his mind clear, preventing him from fainting due to the onset of the illness.

Su Jinzhi cursed loudly at No. 1 in his mind: "Slacked off? Qin Yezhou was still abroad at that time. Even if he were in the country, how was an ordinary person like me supposed to get close to him?"

No matter how good Su Jinzhi's temper was, he really wanted to curse people right now. The body the System got for him had average educational qualifications, both parents deceased, and had grown up in an orphanage since childhood. The fifty thousand yuan he had saved up from doing odd jobs for two years after coming of age was entirely used to bribe the Vice Captain just to get this chance to approach Qin Yezhou.

When he first arrived in this world, he had very seriously been preparing a plan to save the Salvation Target. At first, he had planned to apply to be Qin Yezhou's calf masseur.

But who the fuck knew that even if Qin Yezhou was looking for a masseur, he'd be looking for one with an advanced certificate. How could Su Jinzhi have the time to spend seven or eight years studying for a certificate? What if Qin Yezhou couldn't think things through and committed suicide during that time?

Besides, the punishments had a total of nine levels. What No. 1 was giving him now was only a level three punishment. Although Su Jinzhi's entire body was riddled with illnesses in his previous life, the place he lived in was the Great Interstellar Era. The hospital he stayed in wasn't too backward; it was even quite advanced, so he actually hadn't felt much pain during his treatment process.

"No. 1, No. 1..." Su Jinzhi softened his voice to call out to the System. "I was wrong, I'll go seduce... no, save Qin Yezhou right away. I promise I won't generate any more hatred towards him, not even a little bit..."

No. 1 didn't speak, but Su Jinzhi could feel that he was able to breathe again, and the agonizing pain in his heart also gradually subsided.

—The ice-cold floor tiles reminded him of the fact that he was still alive.

Covered in cold sweat, Su Jinzhi supported himself against the sink and climbed up from the ground. After picking up his medicine bottle, he walked out of the restroom. As soon as he stepped out, he was caught by the Vice Captain: "Where did you run off to? They've started serving meals over at Mr. Qin's place. I've been looking for you for a long time, hurry over there!"

It was only after the Vice Captain finished saying these words that Su Jinzhi realized he had actually been lying in the restroom for over an hour...

He really wanted to go back and take a shower right now.

But the Vice Captain didn't give him this chance. He dragged him directly over to the dining cart, shoved the handle into his hands, and lowered his voice. His eyes, which had turned brown with age, were filled with silent warning: "Don't you dare waste this good opportunity I found for you."

Having someone who had been lying on the restroom floor for over an hour go deliver food to someone—only their Vice Captain could do such a thing. Although their restroom was mopped every three hours and was very clean, Su Jinzhi still felt that he was very dirty.

Su Jinzhi pushed the dining cart and walked slowly forward, currently engaged in an internal tug-of-war over whether to take a shower first or seduce Qin Yezhou first. When he reached the door to the deck, the bodyguard who had previously pushed him away saw him and immediately stepped forward, saying, "Hey, why is it you again?"

As soon as Su Jinzhi heard his words, he immediately lowered his head, shrinking his neck for fear that this bodyguard would smell something he shouldn't.

Seeing the young man trembling continuously after being called out, his fingertips gripping the handle turning slightly purple, and the backs of his hands so pale they were almost translucent—even the dark blue blood vessels buried in his flesh could be clearly seen, coming into view along with his protruding, delicate bones—the bodyguard couldn't help but wonder to himself: was he really that terrifying?

The bodyguard sighed helplessly, walked to Su Jinzhi's side, and helped him push the dining cart inside, softly reminding him, "Don't knock anything over this time. Be careful."

After saying this, he closed the door, leaving the observation deck on the highest level of the cruise ship to Su Jinzhi and Qin Yezhou.

Su Jinzhi was a little surprised. He had originally thought this bodyguard would ask for someone else. If that had been the case, he would have just gone back to take a shower first and come back to save Qin Yezhou after the bodyguard changed shifts. He didn't expect to get in so easily.

Su Jinzhi withdrew his messy thoughts and looked at the man who made his feelings incredibly complicated.

At this time, the sun had just set not long ago. The place where the sea met the sky still had large, full, and rich patches of red twilight clouds. Looking far into the distance, one could also see a few snow-white seagulls breaking through the sky in an inverted 'V' formation, gradually fading away. Meanwhile, on the other side of the sky, where the blue was growing ever deeper, a few stars had already appeared, constantly refracting dazzling light like diamonds shattered by God.

His Salvation Target sat in a wheelchair, his legs covered with a soft dark blue blanket, his back facing him as he gazed out at the vast, boundless blue sky—this person was clearly here to see the stars, yet he now had his back turned to the starry night he had chased after.

Qin Yezhou hadn't said a single word since boarding the ship until now, and Su Jinzhi didn't dare to guess his thoughts. He could only open a bottle of red wine, pour the tantalizing red liquid into a goblet, and gently place it by Qin Yezhou's hand: "Mr. Qin."

This time, Qin Yezhou finally turned his head to look at him.

His expression was cold, his chiseled, sharply defined facial features extraordinarily deep. His eyes were dark gray, with pitch-black pupils as tiny as needles that pierced straight into the depths of Su Jinzhi's heart, loftily weighing the value of his soul. Because his head was turned to the side, the lingering glow of the setting sun struck his other eye, coating that gray with a layer of reddish-brown. It was like the sunset before them, yet also like a gray blood mist interwoven from flesh and pervasive gunpowder smoke on a battlefield, constantly shifting around his abyss-like pupils.

The moment their gazes collided, Su Jinzhi almost thought he had once again seen that terrifying alien who made his whole body tremble and his blood run cold.

Su Jinzhi tried hard to steady his posture and gave him a faint smile.

But after he smiled, Qin Yezhou gently shifted his gaze away, no longer staring at him with those devouring, gloomy gray eyes. Su Jinzhi watched him raise the goblet filled with red wine and swirl it gently. It wasn't until the gorgeous liquid rolled along the glass walls, leaving streaks of brick-red wine tears, that he took a small sip—a truly small sip, just barely wetting his lips.

Su Jinzhi didn't continue looking at him. He lowered his head and earnestly placed the food from the cart onto the dining table.

"Do you know how to drink?"

A deep male voice suddenly pierced his eardrums. Su Jinzhi stopped the movements of his hands and froze for a few seconds before realizing that the person who had just spoken was actually Qin Yezhou. He hastily replied, "Yes, I do!"

The young man answered very quickly, and then, as if trying to cover up his eagerness, he lowered his head again just like when they first met, saying in a small voice, "A little..."

Qin Yezhou glanced at him. His gaze fell upon the hair whorl amidst the young man's soft hair, and the corners of his lips suddenly curled up. He pointed to a chair next to him: "Come over and sit."

Su Jinzhi jerked his head up, looking at him in disbelief. Qin Yezhou was still smiling, and he even raised his hand to pick up the bottle of red wine he had just opened to pour him a glass.

"Relax." Qin Yezhou's voice was soft and deep, sounding very approachable.

Su Jinzhi sat blankly in the chair, holding that glass of red wine with an even more dazed expression.

Seeing him like this, the curve of Qin Yezhou's lips deepened even further. Like the wicked queen tempting Snow White to take a bite of the highly venomous apple, he urged him with a hoarse voice: "Take a sip."

The man's voice was low and deep, like the sound of the lowest string of a cello being pressed, incredibly enchanting, but also seemingly very familiar.

Only then did Su Jinzhi realize that he was still somewhat different from that alien. That alien definitely didn't have such a nice voice—although he had never actually heard him speak.

Like a sailor bewitched by a stunningly beautiful siren suddenly appearing in the vast ocean, Su Jinzhi listened to his words and raised the red wine. He took a deep sniff from the glass, and a rich, subtle fragrance immediately wafted up, enticing Su Jinzhi to first take a sip, and then a second. By the time he put the glass completely down, it was already empty.

The young man's side profile was exquisite and pretty. When he drank, his eyes were half-closed, his long eyelashes lightly concealing the watery gleam in his eyes. His soft red lips pressed against the transparent glass, gently sucking as he drank the liquid from the cup.

Qin Yezhou stared at him with a profound gaze. Upon seeing the young man completely drain the red wine from the glass, his gray eyes became as deep as the velvet-like night sky of this moment.

"What is your name?"

He asked softly, the fingers of both hands interlaced and resting on his lap, his eyes looking back toward the dark sky where stars were gradually appearing.
