Chapter 11

The Big Shot in the Wheelchair 11

Qin Yezhou glanced at the young man who was looking at him in panic. His originally soft and smooth hair was now resting messily on his forehead, and a pair of beautiful eyes stared back at him mistily, just like the innocent and pitiful look he had when waking up in the morning after being ravaged by him all night.

Qin Yezhou sighed and said to He Ziyue, "Are you threatening me?"

He Ziyue dangled a cigarette from his mouth, sat up straight, and said, "No, I just want to do a business deal with you, Yezhou."

Qin Yezhou remained silent, lowering his eyes as he continued to play with the mahjong tile in his hand.

He Ziyue gave a cold sneer and got down from his chair. He roughly grabbed Su Jinzhi by the hair, took a gun handed over by a subordinate, and knocked it heavily against his forehead. Su Jinzhi's skin was very fair, and He Ziyue's force was great, so it didn't take long for a bluish-red bump to appear on the side of Su Jinzhi's forehead.

Su Jinzhi first cried out in pain, but immediately gritted his teeth, holding it in desperately and refusing to let out a single groan. He Ziyue let out a sound of surprise, lifted his chin with the gun, and said with a smile, "I never knew Jinzhi was so good at enduring pain."

Hearing He Ziyue's words, Qin Yezhou was finally willing to raise his head and look at Su Jinzhi.

He completely agreed with He Ziyue's words; he knew just how delicate the young man was. More than once, he had laughed at the young man for having the pampered body of a rich man but the fate of a poor man. Usually, as long as he went a little rougher, this person would get red-eyed and softly beg him to be gentler, as if going any harder would make him like a plucked, delicate rose that would wither, fade, and die.

Yet at this moment, he had suddenly become resilient.

Like the immortal rose kept in a glass dome by the Beast Adam, it was so vibrantly brilliant that one couldn't look away, gorgeous almost to the point of its final bloom.

"He can endure it, but I cannot." Qin Yezhou suddenly smiled. Qin Luo, who had originally been pressing a gun against his head, seemed to have received some kind of command and suddenly turned his hand to fire a shot at He Ziyue. He Ziyue was startled and hurriedly pulled Su Jinzhi in front of him to block the bullet. In the next instant, his right hand holding the gun was pierced by another shot fired by Qin Luo.

At the same time, fully armed bodyguards from outside the hall rushed in rapidly, subduing everyone within mere seconds of the gunshots.

Su Jinzhi was shot in the chest. The severe agony instantly made him lose all ability to think. Panting lightly, he knelt on the ground and slowly raised his head to look at Qin Yezhou.

He saw the man, who had been sitting in a wheelchair ever since they met, raise his hand and remove the dark blue blanket covering his legs. With a light press of his palms on the armrests, he stood up from the wheelchair and walked over to them at an unhurried pace, like an emperor stepping down from his throne.

His gray eyes were still indifferent, as cold as a patch of thick fog in the dark night. He Ziyue could see loneliness, coldness, and ruthlessness in his eyes, but could not see any of the gentleness and doting he had just shown when looking at the young man at the dining table. It was as if the person currently lying on the ground gasping and bleeding was not the same person whose fingertips he had just kissed while vowing to spend the rest of his life with, now entirely a stranger without a single trace of emotion.

He Ziyue's eyes widened. Clutching his wrist, he looked at Qin Yezhou: "Qin Yezhou! Aren't your legs crippled?"

Qin Yezhou smiled and said to him, "Not as crippled as your brain."

Yun Feifei, who had watched the entire ordeal, was already paralyzed with fear on the carpet. She hadn't expected He Ziyue's plan to fail, nor did she know that Qin Yezhou was actually not disabled; he had been perfectly fine all along...

Su Jinzhi, whose consciousness was already somewhat blurred from the pain, his chest constantly heaving. Seeing this scene, he subconsciously murmured, "Mr. Qin..."

Yet Qin Yezhou didn't even look at him. He walked straight up to He Ziyue, forcing him to step back a few paces. Qin Yezhou said, "I told you, some money burns the hands; you shouldn't have taken it."

He Ziyue's pupils shrank slightly. He switched hands to raise his gun, preparing to fight Qin Yezhou to the bitter end, but was tackled and suddenly subdued by a bodyguard.

"M-Mr. Qin—I don't know anything!" Yun Feifei crawled on her knees over to Qin Yezhou, wanting to hug his legs, but Qin Yezhou dodged with a slight sidestep.

Qin Yezhou frowned and said, "Take her away."

Hearing this, the bodyguards hurriedly stepped forward. Ignoring Yun Feifei's hoarse, exhausted crying, they gagged her and dragged her out of the hall.

"Mr. Qin..." Su Jinzhi lay in a pool of warm blood, twitching his fingers, as if wanting to raise his hand to grab the man's trouser leg.

Qin Yezhou's gaze paused for a moment when it shifted to his chest. Then, he walked to his side and crouched down, reaching out to grasp Su Jinzhi's hand. When he inspected and discovered exactly where Qin Luo's gunshot had hit the young man just now, Qin Yezhou's expression drastically changed, and he roared, "Call a doctor over!" After saying that, he supported Su Jinzhi's upper body and carefully pulled him into his embrace.

Like a drowning man grabbing onto driftwood, Su Jinzhi tightly gripped Qin Yezhou's hand. The eyes looking up at the man were full of disbelief and endless confusion, lacking only in hatred.

"Mr. Qin..."

"Mr. Qin..."

Except, he refused to call his name anymore.

The young man was like a child taken to the hospital for a shot by parents he deeply trusted, who, upon finding out he had been tricked, cried with red eyes and constantly called out to his parents in a coquettish, weeping manner. He called out to him incessantly, over and over, as if doing so would grant him some mysterious placebo that could lessen the pain.

Qin Yezhou seemed to grow highly irritable from his calling, and growled at the people behind him, "Tell the doctor to hurry up!" After saying that, he frowned and raised his hand, somewhat tremblingly wiping away the beads of blood on the young man's cheek.

The doctor who had previously been prescribing medicine for Su Jinzhi rushed over. After examining the wound, he shook his head and said, "The shot went off target."

Qin Luo immediately lowered his head and said, "Sir, I'm sorry."

Qin Yezhou fell silent.

And Su Jinzhi had finally understood. The gunshot he took today had long been anticipated by Qin Yezhou.

It's just that he hadn't anticipated the shot going off target.

Su Jinzhi watched the total salvation progress value above Qin Yezhou's head flickering and changing between 50 and 0, only feeling incomparably exhausted.

He coughed twice, aggravating the wound on his chest, the pain causing him to continuously gasp for air.

Qin Yezhou immediately and anxiously raised his hand, gently patting his back to soothe his breath—just as gentle as usual.

But it really, really hurt.

It hurt even more than when the System punished him.

Su Jinzhi couldn't help but cry.

The sensation of having his heart pierced was not pleasant in the slightest. The intense agony of near-death seemed to carry an overwhelming, destructive force, churning his internal organs into a bloody mess with every breath he took, making him wish he could just die immediately.

Su Jinzhi knew that his mission this time was an absolute failure, and the fact that he still hadn't died yet, unable to even faint, was likely because No. 1 was punishing him.

Feeling extremely wronged, he tightly grasped Qin Yezhou's hand and softly cried, "Mr. Qin... Mr. Qin... It hurts so much..."
