Chapter 9 - Second-Generation Heir x Illegitimate Son 9

Lin Sui still hadn't finished that cup of passion fruit milk tea; his taste buds were resisting it.

He didn't take it back from Yan Qin's hands, letting him hold it all the way to school.

Yan Qin stared blankly at the snow top beverage the entire way. Lin Sui had obviously long since left in another car, but it was as if he was still lingering in his mind.

The tip of his tongue curled with milky white, the faint, elusive smile, and those recklessly arrogant words—they were like a snow-white, unsheathed sword blade reflecting a chilling glint. Anyone who tried to touch it would be injured, yet it was hard to resist the temptation of possessing such a peerless treasure.

Yan Qin tried to recall his initial humiliation and embarrassment, but no matter how hard he tried, all he could remember were Lin Sui's soft lips and his supple, fish-like tongue, intertwining with a fatal allure.

Those fragmented memories were like the floating light skimming over a golden water surface, or like silver-scaled fish leaping out of the water.

He was a vibrantly colored poisonous butterfly, a beautiful snake that coiled tightly around people. He was an existence that should have clearly incurred disgust and avoidance, yet he made people uncontrollably sink into the trap of his seduction.

"Ah Yan, why do you look like you've lost your soul? And why is there cream on your nose?"

Tao Ting looked at the person who was unprecedentedly distracted and waved her hand in front of Yan Qin's eyes.

Yan Qin broke away from his thoughts. Snapping back to reality, he suddenly realized that he had unknowingly sat down in his seat in the classroom.

He wiped the cream off the tip of his nose with the back of his hand. The image of Lin Sui leaning in to lick it off surfaced in his mind again, his raven-feather-like eyelashes trembling over his lower eyelids.

Tao Ting asked helplessly, "Why are you spacing out again? Did something happen?"

Yan Qin reined in his expression and shook his head, saying, "No."

"That's good. By the way, where is the Little Master? Why isn't he here?"

"It's normal for the Little Master not to come," Chu Feng pouted his lips and asked Yan Qin, "Are you free tonight? Let's take a look at that program."

"Okay."

Yan Qin originally wanted to ask Lin Sui for permission after returning home in the afternoon before leaving the villa to find a place to look at the program. However, after school, that car didn't come to pick him up.

The afterglow of dusk illuminated the leaves on both sides, and the street was empty.

Yan Qin took out a bracelet made of the same material as the necklace around his neck from his pocket, dangled it a bit, and then put it back.

Had he already gotten bored?

Perhaps an overly obedient pet would wear away his sense of novelty.

Yan Qin lowered his eyes and stopped waiting for the car that might or might not come at some unknown time. He changed his route and went to Chu Feng's house instead.

"Run it twice, and if there are no problems, we'll see the results. Contact me later if anything comes up."

Yan Qin looked at the time on his wristwatch, grabbed his schoolbag, and headed outside.

"Hey, your homework! What are you leaving in such a hurry for? Ah Yan, you're not acting like yourself today."

Chu Feng stopped Yan Qin and stuffed his math homework back into his bag. Yan Qin had never been this reckless before.

Yan Qin thanked him and walked out without explaining.

It was almost time for his usual bath. He was always too lazy to dry himself off after bathing, and if he went to sleep dripping wet, he would definitely throw another tantrum.

When Yan Qin hurried back to the villa, the lights on the second floor were still dark.

"The Young Master hasn't returned yet?"

Yan Qin watched the clock hands point to ten o'clock, his brows furrowing slightly.

The servant who stayed behind nodded. Yan Qin placed his schoolbag in the living room, held a book, and spaced out.

In a private room flashing with dazzling lights, Lin Sui was drinking.

In the afternoon, he had returned to the Lin Family. Under the questioning of his parents and grandparents, he confirmed once again that he wanted to take the college entrance examination himself, and then he spent the whole afternoon reading a book on question type analysis.

He only needed to recall his memories, so rather than staying at school, it was better for him to study the question banks on his own. In the evening, just as he was preparing to go home, he was called out by a phone call from Yan Zhou to drink, who said it was a welcome reception for Song Yunqing.

Lin Sui came, but when he arrived, Song Yunqing wasn't there yet.

"Yunqing is still on his way. Ah Sui, let's drink first."

Two young models—one innocent-looking and the other glamorous—squeezed in beside him, holding wine glasses and wanting to feed him drinks.

Although the original owner didn't play around with women, he wouldn't refuse a beautiful woman's flattery either. But Lin Sui was different.

His gaze fixed on the wine in his glass, and he softly spat out two words: "Go away."

There was no sign of anger on his face, but that visage, as stunning as peach and plum blossoms, appeared increasingly cold and wicked under the lights of the private room.

The women beside him didn't want to bump into the little ancestor's gun muzzle, so they very sensibly squeezed into the arms of others.

"Ah Sui, this is an apology drink from those guys. But they're still lying in the hospital and haven't come out yet. They were afraid that wandering in front of you would bring you bad luck. Those two were gifts, but it's fine if you don't want them."

Yan Zhou attentively poured wine for Lin Sui and spoke while observing Lin Sui's expression.

Lin Sui held his glass and sipped slowly. The wine was indeed good wine.

Seeing Lin Sui drink the wine, Yan Zhou finally asked cautiously, "They said you were venting anger on behalf of that little bastard and had him beat them up. Is that true?"

When Yan Zhou first heard it, he only thought it was absurd. How could Lin Sui possibly back up that lowly illegitimate son? That bastard clearly deserved to be trampled in the mud. He knew Lin Sui's true nature. He had unhesitatingly demanded the guy just to treat him like a dog, so how could he possibly be protecting Yan Qin?

Yan Zhou dared to say that if Lin Sui also had an illegitimate younger brother, his methods would definitely be a hundred times more ruthless than his own.

"Venting anger?"

Lin Sui sounded as if he had heard something funny, the end of his tone rising.

"Even when beating a dog, you have to look at its master. They slapped my face, and I actually think I was too light-handed with them."

Lin Sui swirled the liquor in his glass, his tone chillingly cold.

To Yan Zhou, these words sounded inexplicably wrong. It indeed fit the Young Master's style of doing things; since Yan Qin had become his dog, others arbitrarily touching him was indeed a provocation to him. But hadn't he sent Yan Qin over precisely hoping that Yan Qin would have a hard time? How come he was untouchable now?

However, the Young Master had always been domineering. Yan Zhou could only comfort himself in his heart that, given the Young Master's temperament, Yan Qin must be living a very miserable life.

"How come I'm hearing about people getting physical the moment I walk in? Who made our Young Master unhappy again?"

A clear male voice came from the doorway as a young man pushed the door open and entered. He was wearing casual clothes, with long silver hair tied behind his back, exuding a gentle and elegant aura.

"Yunqing! Come sit over here!"

Yan Zhou waved his hand and pointed to the seat next to Lin Sui.

"Some insignificant nobodies."

Lin Sui answered lazily, leaning against the sofa as he watched the man sit closer.

Song Yunqing had a good-looking exterior. Among their group of wealthy playboys, he was the most outstanding person.

To the original owner, he was a good brother, but for Song Yunqing, that might not be the case.

Song Yunqing's disguise wasn't very meticulous. The moment he leaned over, Lin Sui could feel the floating ice beneath his smile, even if it was fleeting.

In the plot provided by the System, the original owner later crazily caused trouble for Yan Qin and was ultimately reduced to cannon fodder by Yan Qin. This good brother had contributed quite a lot to that outcome.

Of course, from Song Yunqing's perspective, he was forsaking the darkness for the light.

Lin Sui had no objections to this point. After all, the original owner was a villain in the later stages, so Song Yunqing's choice was correct. But the one sitting here right now was him, Lin Sui, not the original owner.

Since he disliked the original owner's way of doing things yet could still patiently coax him, he truly was bearing a heavy burden of humiliation.

Looking at Lin Sui's black pupils, which were filled with coldness under the light, Song Yunqing's heart inexplicably gave a sudden jump.

"What's wrong, Ah Sui? You look so gloomy. I was gone for a bit long this time, but I didn't forget to bring you a gift."

Song Yunqing took a box wrapped in black velvet from his pocket; inside was a pair of diamond stud earrings.

This face was Lin Sui's own, but the body still retained the traits left by the original owner. The original owner had pierced ears but rarely wore anything in them, and Lin Sui was also indifferent to such things.

If this had been given by Yan Qin, Lin Sui most likely would have accepted it, but since it was from Song Yunqing, he would pass.

He cast a sidelong glance at Song Yunqing and drawled, "Nipple piercings? If they were pierced on you, I might consider them a gift."

The original owner had this exact wicked temperament, but he had always restrained himself around Song Yunqing. Lin Sui wouldn't, though. Since he had to play the character persona anyway, he might as well go all out.

The people around them couldn't help but laugh, and someone even egged Song Yunqing on, "Young Master Song, did you hear that? Young Master Lin is hinting for you to throw yourself into his arms."

Song Yunqing chuckled. "Alright. Young Master Lin can lie down first; I'll definitely be there."

Lin Sui raised an eyebrow. "Forget it. With you, I'm afraid I'd find it a bit hard to swallow."

His disdain was written all over his face. Song Yunqing reined in his smile and said somewhat helplessly, "Still fussing with me?"

Lin Sui was too lazy to be overly intimate with him. "To tell you the truth, you're not my type."

Seeing that the atmosphere was about to freeze and terrified that the two would start arguing right there, Yan Zhou immediately urged them to drink.

"Alright, alright, Yunqing just got back. Let's all drink, drink up."

Yan Zhou then held his wine glass and whispered to Song Yunqing, "You were gone for so long this time, and Ah Sui is in a bad mood. It's normal for his words to be a bit harsh; don't take it to heart."

Song Yunqing's eyes were dark and cold as he smiled. "How could I be angry with him?"

On the contrary, he felt that tonight's Lin Sui was exceptionally interesting.

As everyone continued drinking, someone brought up the matter of Lin Sui skipping a grade.

"High school seniors are graduating soon. Young Master Lin, since you skipped a grade, where are you planning to go to study?"

Lin Sui answered casually, "Wherever my exam scores can get me."

As soon as these words came out, the entire private room fell silent.

It was as if everyone had heard a joke they didn't dare to laugh at. No one dared to disparage him, and the person who asked the question braced himself to praise him for being amazing, which eased the atmosphere a bit.

"You skipped a grade? You're going to take the exam yourself?"

The astonishment in Song Yunqing's eyes couldn't be hidden. It seemed that something had indeed happened during the time he was away, causing the Young Master to undergo such a change.

Lin Sui propped up his head and looked at him. "Want to make a bet?"

"Still the same bet as before?"

Song Yunqing said enthusiastically. In the past, they always bet on serving each other tea and pouring water for a month. Lin Sui had never won, yet he refused to admit defeat and loved finding him to make bets.

"Let's change to a new one. The winner can make a request to the other party within reasonable limits."

Lin Sui knew that Song Yunqing would be interested in this bet.

Song Yunqing lit a cigarette, his eyes and brows carrying a smile. "I'll bet with you."

At eleven o'clock, Lin Sui returned to the villa.

The alcohol made his steps a bit unsteady. A servant walked over to help him, but Lin Sui waved them off and walked in by himself.

Upon hearing the sound of the car, Yan Qin came down from the second floor and supported Lin Sui's unsteady figure.

The servant opened their mouth to speak, but seeing that the Young Master showed no signs of rejection, they closed it again.

Yan Qin originally wanted to help Lin Sui upstairs, but he saw Lin Sui looking at him intently, not moving his feet.

Yan Qin pondered for a few moments, and an unbelievable thought emerged in his mind.

He tentatively wrapped his arms around the youth's lithe waist and picked him up bridal style.

Only then did the Young Master withdraw his gaze in satisfaction and somewhat wearily close his eyes.
