The Plough

Chapter 183 - Chapter 180 Part 1

"What are you all doing?!" Ling Shu shouted.

He suspected that he might still be hallucinating, so he didn't bother with his tone.

The three of them saw him, but they all reacted slightly.

"Mr. Ling!"

"Where did you just run off to?"

Ling Shu walked over.

"Now I'm asking you, what's going on?"

His gaze shuttled back and forth between the three of them, finally stopping on Yue Dingtang.

Yue Dingtang frowned slightly, also looking at Ling Shu, his expression revealing concern, all emotions conveyed silently.

It was still the familiar Yue Dingtang, but Ling Shu dared not believe him easily.

"Just now you ran too fast, we were looking for you, and Yang Chunhe suddenly attacked me from behind." Yue Dingtang said.

Ling Shu: "Are you injured?"

Yue Dingtang: "She bumped my shoulder, it's nothing."

Ling Shu noticed that his gun posture was not very natural.

Yang Chunhe pursed her lips and said, "I didn't attack Mr. Yue. He suddenly pointed his gun at us and said I was a spy for the Azure Dragon Society."

Ling Shu looked at Leader Ying behind her.

The other party immediately raised his hands to show loyalty, "I don't know anything, I am innocent!"

Ling Shu asked, "Who is lying between the two of them?"

The fake leader looked surprised because in his opinion, Ling Shu would definitely stand unconditionally on Yue Dingtang's side.

Who would have thought that he would ask such a question?

"I, I walked slowly just now and didn't see..."

Ling Shu reached out to Yue Dingtang, "Old Yue, give me the gun."

Yue Dingtang frowned slightly, "Don't you trust me?"

Ling Shu neither confirmed nor denied, "If you trust me, give me the gun."

Yue Dingtang didn't move: "How can I be sure that you are you?"

Ling Shu replied: "You can test me, but I also need to confirm that you are still you."

Yue Dingtang suggested: "Let's ask each other one question at a time, taking turns."

Ling Shu agreed: "Sure."

Yang Chunhe and the fake leader were both suspicious, their eyes shifting back and forth between the two, not knowing what they were up to.

Yue Dingtang asked: "How many sisters do I have and what are their names?"

Ling Shu answered: "You only have one sister, named Yue Chunxiao."

Yue Dingtang continued: "Who do I live with on a daily basis?"

Ling Shu said, "Chunxiao has gone abroad with her husband. You still have two older brothers, but they are usually very busy and hardly ever stay at the Yue Manor. Only you and the old housekeeper Uncle Zhou live there. Sometimes I also go there to stay. Uncle Zhou is very skilled, and sometimes I stay for two or three days. My sister often twists my ear and says I am like water poured out from the family. Do you understand now? You asked one more question, so I will ask two in return."

Yue Dingtang said, "Go ahead and ask."

Ling Shu asked, "Before you went abroad, you wanted to give me a book. What was the name of that book?"

"Romeo and Juliet," Yue Dingtang answered without hesitation.

Ling Shu continued, "I wasn't able to catch up with you to receive the book. If you could give me that book now, what would you want to say to me?"

Yue Dingtang was taken aback.

He looked at Yue Dingtang, who was also staring at him.

Yang Chunhe seemed a bit uneasy and moved slightly.

Yue Dingtang immediately noticed and turned his gaze towards her, with a hint of threat.

Yang Chunhe was anxious, "Can you hurry up? The pursuers are coming, we need to find a way out quickly!"

The fake leader surnamed Ying also said, "Yes, you two stop arguing. We are all in the same boat now, we rise and fall together, no one will betray anyone!"

Yue Dingtang coldly said, "That remains to be seen. I would rather be defeated by the enemy than have a backstabber appear at a critical moment."

Yang Chunhe was anxious, "Mr. Yue, what do I have to do to make you believe me?"

Ling Shu said, "Old Yue, you haven't answered my question yet."

After a moment of contemplation, Yue Dingtang said, "If I had seen you back then, I would have given up going abroad and helped you through your difficulties, or even left with you. I would never have left you alone in Shanghai."

Footsteps could be heard in the distance, gradually getting closer and closer.

Yang Chunhe became increasingly anxious.

She felt that there was some ambiguity between Ling Shu and Yue Dingtang, their relationship seemed deeper than she had imagined.

But at this moment, she couldn't delve into it, she could only watch as the group faced off, with the sound of pursuers' footsteps getting closer and closer behind them.

At this moment, Yang Chunhe heard Ling Shu say to Yue Dingtang, "Give me the gun."

He reached out his hand towards Yue Dingtang.

Yue Dingtang didn't move immediately.

Ling Shu slightly increased his tone, "Old Yue."

Yue Dingtang didn't answer, but instead asked, "If we were back in that time, with your family's situation, would you still come with me?"

Ling Shu replied, "Yes."

A small smile appeared in the corner of Yue Dingtang's eyes as he handed the gun to Ling Shu.

In a lightning-fast motion, Ling Shu aimed the gun at Yue Dingtang's heart and fired!

Blood quickly spread from under his shirt, staining the area with a large pool of red.

Yue Dingtang was betrayed in the biggest way possible, and his expression was one of disbelief, shock, and heartbreak.

He stared straight at Ling Shu, his gaze more painful than the wound itself, drowning Ling Shu in a sea of bitter regret.

Yang Chunhe and the fake leader were just as shocked as he was.

They instinctively stepped back, afraid that Ling Shu might suddenly go crazy and kill them too.

But Ling Shu didn't give them any time to react.

He immediately fired two shots, directly hitting them in the head.

Bang! Bang!

Their heads exploded, and the sound of their screams was like a warning alarm, shaking Ling Shu to the point where he couldn't stand and he fell to the ground.

Everything in front of him collapsed and shattered, including Yue Dingtang who was dying in a pool of blood, Yang Chunhe, and the fake leader. They all shattered like glass, and could never be picked up again.

"How did you find out? How did you find out!" The voice of the white-haired man seemed to come from nowhere, roaring and echoing in his mind.

"It's because of your answer," Ling Shu said coldly, his head pounding.

He tried to rally his spirits.

"My answer is the desire deep within your heart, it's your answer!"

"It was."

"What do you mean 'it was'?! That's impossible! You couldn't have figured it out!"

"Your hypnosis is indeed very clever. You planted suggestion after suggestion, creating illusions for me, making me believe I had found the answer I wanted. But you forgot, all answers come from my own thoughts. I can create them, and of course, I can fabricate them."

"You'll be caught if you lie, it's impossible!"

"So I used poison to fight poison. You can give me hints, and of course, I can also increase my memory protection. The first layer is appearance, and the second layer is the truth. Romeo and Juliet were right, but the second answer was wrong. Even if Yue Dingtang knew about my family situation at that time, he could not have asked me to go with him. Even if he did, I wouldn't have gone. We were not the same people as we are now. Wrong time plus the same person will not have the same result. This is the wrong answer I set for you, and you believed it."

Ling Shu laughed as he finished speaking. "Your hypnosis skills are truly remarkable. I have personally experienced it. No wonder Miss Feng was led by you and ended up on a dead end. Even someone as ruthless as Zhou Yulin could become your follower. You are indeed very capable, but it's a pity that you have gone astray and your heart is not right. It's all in vain!"

After speaking, he raised his gun without hesitation, aimed at his own temple, and pulled the trigger.

Intense pain accompanied by colorful lights suddenly exploded in front of his eyes, and everything returned to the beginning.
