Chapter 16 - Chapter 13 Part 2

But he hadn't shown up for the opening sessions during the day.

Qin Chuan had thought he wasn't coming.

But as it turned out, not only had Wei Feizhou come, but he was also standing with Bo He, seemingly having a pleasant chat?

Filled with doubt, Qin Chuan walked over.

And then he saw that Bo He was indeed holding a phone.

Only, the phone's size didn't look like hers; it was Wei Feizhou's.

Wei Feizhou, meanwhile, was standing beside her.

Were these two... playing a game?

Not noticing Qin Chuan's arrival, or perhaps choosing to ignore it, Wei Feizhou didn't even look up, his eyes still glued to the phone screen in Bo He's hands.

"Hey, I think there's someone up ahead!"

Before the words were out of his mouth, Bo He had already opened fire.

An enemy peeking out from behind a tree was reaped with unerring precision the very moment he stuck his head out.

A one-shot headshot!

Wei Feizhou couldn't help but let out a cry of admiration.

"The M24 is so steady in your hands. How did you aim so quickly?" he asked.

"It's just a feel for it. If you play enough, you'll get it too," Bo He said with a smile.

Qin Chuan played games in his spare time, so he didn't need to ask to know what game the two of them were playing.

A globally popular shooting survival game.

He'd played it a few times himself. He wasn't an expert, but he had at least managed to graduate from the ranks of the noobs.

Watching the thoroughly engrossed Wei Feizhou, Qin Chuan fell silent.

He had been looking for all sorts of openings with Wei Feizhou, trying to cater to his interests, but he never, ever would have imagined that the man actually liked to play games.

To be precise, that he actually liked to play this particular shooter.

If I had known this earlier, Qin Chuan thought, wouldn't finding an expert to carry Wei Feizhou and boost his rank have been much easier than running around in circles?

Thinking about how he'd had people investigating Wei Feizhou's preferences for the past few days—to the point where he'd almost asked what brand of shower gel the man used—Qin Chuan couldn't help but find it a little funny.

Just then, Wei Feizhou looked up.

"Young CEO Qin, you seem to have thought of something amusing. Why not share it with us?"

Qin Chuan hated it most when people called him "Young CEO Qin."

Wei Feizhou should have known this, yet he deliberately chose that form of address.

The two men's eyes met—one with a half-smile, the other impassive.

Qin Chuan said, "I've been looking all over for my companion. Turns out CEO Wei has been keeping her here."

Before Wei Feizhou could speak, the music signaling the end of the game began to play.

Bo He handed the phone back to Wei Feizhou. The screen displayed "1st Place."

Out of the corner of his eye, Qin Chuan noticed that Bo He had killed fourteen enemies in a solo match.

The kill count sounded intimidating, but on second thought, it made sense.

Bo He was using Wei Feizhou's game account. Wei Feizhou's rank was very low, so the enemies she encountered were noobs on a similar skill level. Racking up so many kills wasn't that much of an exaggeration.

What left a deep impression on Qin Chuan was how Bo He had just used an M24. Right after switching scopes, when an ordinary person would still need a few more seconds to confirm the enemy's position, she had already gone from switching her view to getting the kill. She then quickly got up, ran over to loot the body, and in the next instant, shot down another enemy attempting to ambush her from behind.

It was as smooth as flowing water, all executed in one go.

A layman who had never played the game might not think much of it, but Qin Chuan had not only played but also used an M24 before, so he knew just how difficult it was.

Bo He's skills were truly at an expert level.

Qin Chuan couldn't help but look at her a couple more times.

Bo He's expression, however, remained normal; even when praised by Wei Feizhou, she showed no hint of pride or smugness.

Instead, it was Wei Feizhou who, upon hearing Qin Chuan's words, laughed heartily and turned to ask Bo He.

"Are you a friend of Young CEO Qin? Where are you working now?"

Bo He said, "I'm an employee at CEO Qin's company."

Wei Feizhou asked, "An assistant? I know Young CEO Qin has a habit of bringing his assistant to banquets."

He offered his business card.

Bo He glanced at Qin Chuan. Only after seeing him nod did she accept it with both hands and say, a little embarrassed, "I'm afraid I'm not much to look at. I'm not an assistant, just an ordinary employee in the customer service department. It was just by chance that I was fortunate enough to accompany CEO Qin and broaden my horizons."

Wei Feizhou laughed and said, "Then how about this: I'll offer you double your salary. Switch jobs, come be my assistant, and teach me how to play this game on the side. What do you say?"

Qin Chuan said with a smile that didn't reach his eyes, "CEO Wei, poaching my employee right in front of me... isn't that a bit out of line?"

Wei Feizhou replied, "People strive for better opportunities. My offer is better, and it's clear the young lady isn't being valued at your company. If I have her come over, she can both play games and get work done. Isn't that making the best use of her talents?"

With that, he turned to Bo He, his expression pleasant and amiable.

"So, young lady, what do you think?"
