Chapter 11 - Chapter 10 Part 2

"I've already reported what just happened to President Qin. He told us to stay in the hotel and rest for the next two days. Safety comes first. Everything else can wait until the storm passes. If you want to go out for a stroll, remember not to go far, and contact me anytime if you need anything."

No team-building meant everyone had two days of free time.

They were in no mood to cheer "Long live the boss," each dragging their tired and heavy bodies upstairs to rest.

Bo He, wearing a clean bathrobe borrowed from a colleague, walked from there to her own hotel, entered the elevator, swiped her card, and rubbed her reddened eyes. She casually pressed her floor button, leaned her back against the elevator wall, and let out a long breath.

She suddenly remembered something.

This afternoon, her disciple in the game had told her that he had another, main account.

And that main account was number one in combat power on their server.

Bo He found it hard to describe her feelings at that moment.

It was like a friend ran into trouble, and you helped fend off that trouble, even prepared to become a fugitive with them, only for that friend to suddenly transform and tell you they were actually the emperor traveling incognito.

The moment the account "An Endless Stream" was revealed, all their troubles were instantly solved, and all discordant voices gradually vanished.

Even that gang from "Shield of Zeus" would definitely not dare to provoke them or cause trouble again. At most, they would just mutter a few things behind their backs.

Bo He felt a little strange.

As for the anger of being deceived, it didn't seem to be that strong. But it was certainly impossible to say she was thrilled.

It seemed that only such a powerful account would fit her disciple's self-proclaimed identity as a rich, beautiful girl.

But, seeing her well-behaved, sensible, and quiet little female disciple suddenly transform and no longer need her protection, Bo He thought to herself, this strange feeling was probably what a doting father feels.

Oh well, a three-legged toad is hard to find, but two-legged disciples are everywhere. If she wanted to take on a disciple, she could just find another one later.

The elevator doors opened.

Bo He walked out, heading towards her room from memory.

She felt her eyes might be having an allergic reaction from the seawater. They kept itching, and though she knew she shouldn't rub them, the itch was unbearable. She repeatedly lowered her head to rub her eyes and, without realizing it, arrived at her room door.

She swiped her room card. It didn't open.

She swiped it again, but there was still the "beep-beep" sound of a red, failed attempt.

Huh?

Bo He was about to take two steps back and look up at the room number.

The door opened.

Boss Qin stood in the doorway, dressed in a bathrobe.

The two stared at each other.

They were too close. Bo He could almost smell the scent wafting from him.

It was the warmth of someone who had just showered, mixed with the fragrance of shower gel and a man's own hormones.

A sense of pressure washed over her.

She couldn't help but take two steps back.

Her soaked long hair clung to her body. To Qin Chuan, her bare face and bathrobe also made it look like she had just stepped out of the bathroom.

Boss Qin had a strange expression on his face as he looked her up and down. "Surprise?"

Bo He was baffled and subconsciously repeated, "Surprise?"

Her question, however, sounded more like a statement of fact.

They locked eyes for half a second.

Qin Chuan couldn't even be bothered to scrutinize the expression on her face.

Sarcasm spilled from his lips.

"If you have the free time for this sort of thing, you'd be better off thinking about how to improve your intelligence and abilities. Don't spend all day looking for loopholes and thinking about how to climb the ladder. I wouldn't like a woman like you in eight lifetimes. I don't care if you got in through Shen Rui or some other connection, pack your things and get the hell out of Shengming Company tomorrow!"

The next second, the door was slammed shut with a bang!

If not for the doorframe, Bo He would have thought the door was about to slam into her nose.

Bo He: ???

Completely bewildered, she thought, *What just happened?*

As soon as he closed the door, Qin Chuan felt something was off.

He wasn't an impulsive person. It was just that his prior impression of Bo He was quite poor, and coupled with the phone call from Shen Rui just now, plus the fact that the storm might prevent the meeting from being held on schedule, he had lashed out without thinking.

Qin Chuan walked to the door and looked through the peephole. There was no one outside.

Well, if she's gone, she's gone. He had no need to apologize to an insignificant employee. At worst, he could just give her a few extra months' salary when he fired her.

In the game he had left running AFK, a friend message suddenly started blinking.

Qin Chuan clicked it open and saw that "Peppermint Tea," who had been silent for most of the day, had actually replied.

Peppermint Tea: I had to go out for something this afternoon. I just got back.

Qin Chuan: Master, are you mad at me?

He noticed a hint of distance in her attitude, different from before.
