Chapter 25 - Nine Nether Part 1

It took a while for Wen Hui's gaze to regain clarity.

Chi Juntian placed her hand on Wen Hui's forehead to examine him: "There are no abnormalities. Perhaps as a mortal, his mind is fragile and was entranced by the void."

Chen Weichen asked: "Ah Hui, what happened just now? Did you see anything?"

Wen Hui's voice was a bit hoarse: "I didn't see anything, nor could I hear anything. Everything around me was hazy gray, there was nothing."

Chi Juntian said: "It's the void."

Her gaze was sharp as she looked at Chen Weichen: "Do you know his date of birth?"

Chen Weichen told her the birth date and added: "He was born at midnight."

"Where is his home, and does he have any blood relatives?"

After Chen Weichen reported everything, Chi Juntian used her finger as a brush to draw many intricate lines on the stone wall. After a while, she withdrew her hand: "The date is unusual, but his life path is smooth. There should be no major issues."

Seeing her actions, Chen Weichen asked: "Senior, do you know a lame old man?"

Chi Juntian was taken aback and sized him up: "An old charlatan who swindles in the mortal world?"

Chen Weichen: "Yes."

Chi Juntian's long eyebrows furrowed slightly, but relaxed after a moment. She laughed freely at the void: "It seems the time has indeed come, even that old thing hiding in his tortoise shell has come out to stir up trouble - where did you meet him?"

Chen Weichen thought for a bit, but in the end didn't tell the truth: "When he was doing fortune-telling, it was similar to senior's methods, so I remembered it. He stayed in our city for a few days, but I haven't seen him since."

"Back in the day, that old thing in the tortoise shell and I made a bet on who would first find the method to transcend and ascend," Chi Juntian had a heroic appearance. Although her hair was completely white, there was an indescribable carefree spirit in her smile. "Since he's still an old charlatan fortune-teller who has nothing to do with ascension, it's only right that I should win."

She glanced at Ye Jiuya: "Ye Jiuya, you and I were never on the same path to begin with. Now that your disciple is also entangled with that old thing, we are even more incompatible. You open up a path through the void to send me out, and we'll go our separate ways. When the time comes, I will go preside over the Platform of Life and Creation myself."

Ye Jiuya: "We already have the Annihilation Incense, Kaiyang Blood, and Jinxiu Ashes. The remnants of the Heavenly Book are incomplete, what else is needed?"

"The Annihilation Incense and Jinxiu Ashes both represent the extreme prosperity turning into extreme decline, coming from the immortal path and mortal world respectively. The Kaiyang Blood comes from the immortal path, representing extreme decline turning into extreme prosperity. We need another item like this from the mortal world - it doesn't matter what it is. Besides that, we also need the Nine Nether Spring Water that bears the creation of the demon realm." Chi Juntian narrowed her eyes slightly: "The Heavenly Book actually has no one guarding it, with only remnants left. The immortal path must be in decline now."

"Chen Weichen." Ye Jiuya said.

"I'm here, Master." Chen Weichen looked over.

"It should have been Lu Hongyan originally, but now there's only you here." Ye Jiuya looked at him: "Can you do it?"

Chen Weichen said softly: "Master, don't worry."

He looked at Chi Juntian: "Senior, after you open the void, Master and I will go to the demon realm. Please bring Wen Hui back to the mortal world when you return."

Chi Juntian did not refuse: "Alright."

"Ah Hui, listen," Chen Weichen tidied up his servant boy's slightly messy hair and said gently, "Follow the Daoist priest and Lady Lu. We will definitely return within a year. If you don't want to wait, then go back to Yue City. I will go find you when I return."

The servant boy who had just regained clarity didn't immediately react to what was happening. He only knew that his young master was probably going to abandon him and go to some place that wasn't the mortal world. His eyes instantly reddened slightly: "I want to go with you to take care of you, young master."

"Be good," Chen Weichen affectionately touched foreheads with him, "You can't go there."

"You and I were born on the same year, same month, and same day. Since birth, I haven't been apart from you for even a single day," the servant boy said softly, "You only know arts and leisure, nothing practical. Without me, who knows what sorry state you'll end up in."

"I'll take good care of myself. You stay in the mortal world and wait for me to come back like a good boy." Chen Weichen's voice was gentle but brooked no argument.

Chi Juntian crossed her arms and glanced sideways at this scene: "Judging from your master's fortune, he was probably born at high noon that day, carrying who knows how much deadly ill fate. It's good that you're leaving him, your life path will surely be smooth and you'll avoid being dragged down by his misfortune."

"With Swordmaster Ye here, nothing will happen." Chen Weichen comforted Wen Hui one last time.

Wen Hui looked at Ye Jiuya.

Ye Jiuya nodded at him.

The servant boy with delicate, pretty features lowered his eyes slightly: "Young master, I'll be waiting for you to come back."

Chi Juntian stepped forward and stood beside Wen Hui. She said to Ye Jiuya: "He's also my disciple. I'll keep an eye out for that item in the mortal world."

Ye Jiuya: "Many thanks, senior."

Chen Weichen walked over to Ye Jiuya's side.

Ye Jiuya's entire aura slowly changed.

He closed his eyes, a faint glow rising from his body, sword qi swirling around him without dissipating.

That aura was familiar, extremely similar to the overwhelming momentum that filled the sky after the sword tomb opened on Mount Lulan above the Southern Sea.

Those rumors were true, the Southern and Northern Swords originated from the same source.

The heart method was divided into three realms - sword form, sword intent, sword heart.

The sword path had a pinnacle. After reaching the summit, one could transform their body into a sword.

That was why both the Southern and Northern Sword Sects had sword tombs. The swords were the previous generation's stunning geniuses who transformed into peerless precious swords after death, to be used when needed to protect later generations of disciples.

The immortal path had continued for countless years. The number of swords in the sword tombs had never exceeded twenty or thirty, showing how desolate the pinnacle of the sword path was.

Legend had it that these swords carried the Heavenly Dao and could slash through the void.

Specks of light gathered in front of Ye Jiuya, gradually condensing into a cold white longsword.

He himself no longer had a shred of cultivation, even weaker than mortals.

Although Chi Juntian's cultivation was powerful, it was used to deduce the workings of Heaven. She was not versed in sword techniques or intent, just like that fortune-telling old cripple. Despite her extremely high realm, she was not proficient in martial arts and never used Daoist talismans or spells.

At this moment, only Chen Weichen could be the sword wielder.

Chi Juntian assumed he was Ye Jiuya's disciple and naturally skilled with the sword, so she had no doubts.

Chen Weichen had long fantasized about Ye Jiuya. Now that the opportunity to get intimate with his beloved had finally fallen from the sky, he couldn't really feel happy about it.

The bone-like longsword was completely cold white. It felt chilly to the touch. The sword, one had to admit, matched the man.

"All your life's cultivation is contained within, for him—" He gripped the sword hilt, smiled slightly, his voice lowering as if sighing, "Master, I originally thought I would not be jealous."

Ye Jiuya slowly closed his eyes, his expression unknown.

Chen Weichen's hand tightly gripped that cold sword hilt, trembling slightly.

Raising his hand, he drew the sword, the sword light slashing towards the endless abyss.

In the past, someone used a sword to pull back the Heavenly River.

Now, someone uses a sword to sever the void.
