Stuttering Big Boss’s White Moonlight

Stuttering Big Boss’s White Moonlight

Chapter 75 - Chapter 75

In the dimly lit night, only a faint moonlight shone through.

Gu Miao's heart was surging, his almost collapsing heart beating wildly as he stiffened his hand and quietly looked down at her.

The beautiful girl leaned against him, a strand of hair brushing against his neck, bringing a tingling sensation. She slept soundly, in a dependent posture, as if they were already a couple who had been together for a long time, or a real husband and wife.

The room was very quiet, and the warmth made people drowsy. But Gu Miao could no longer sleep. Soft light shone in his eyes, his fingertips curling up, but he could not resist the inner longing. He quietly reached out and hugged the girl in his arms.

In the night, the holly in the garden rustled in the wind.

As Gu Miao's empty and confused heart was filled with surging emotions, a warm feeling washed over him.

The darkness covered everything, but he finally summoned the courage to hesitantly reach out and smooth out her messy hair.

Then, he quietly withdrew his hand and felt the warmth of his fingertips in the deep darkness.

That night, he watched the girl in his arms until a faint light appeared on the horizon, and then he fell asleep.

After a period of recovery, Gu Miao's cast was finally removed from his foot.

Without mentioning anything about separate rooms, the two of them naturally slept on the same bed.

Although they had separate blankets, the girl always silently rolled into Gu Miao's arms in the middle of the night.

He felt both sweet and pained. Often too excited to sleep at night, but the thought of sleeping in a separate room from her was unbearable.

Not long after his recovery, Gu Miao had to return to work at the company.

The weather had turned cold, and the chilly winter wind was blowing.

After dinner, Cheng Chu quietly pulled him into her old room.

As he watched their hands interlocked, a smile unconsciously appeared on Gu Miao's lips. But when the girl turned to him, he immediately suppressed it.

"Here, for you."

It was a pink and blue bag with a beautiful butterfly knot tied at the handle.

Was it a gift? Gu Miao's eyes lit up, and he almost couldn't wait to take it.

"Quick, open it and see."

He followed the girl's request, his fingers trembling as he untied the silk ribbon.

Inside the bag was a light blue plush toy, but he couldn't quite make out what it was. With a hint of confusion, Gu Miao took out the item and unfolded it, only to realize that it was a blanket.

His body stiffened for a moment.

Could it be that she had personally knitted this?

The man looked down at the blanket, noticing the not-so-neat stitches, and felt his heart skip a beat.

In the next second, the girl spoke up: "I knitted this. Even though your leg cast has been removed, you still need to keep warm in the winter."

The soft texture of the blanket in his hands made Gu Miao hold his breath for a second. His head felt dizzy, as if the sky had started raining candy. His heart, which had already lost control because of her, was now filled with sweetness, and he dared not even jump anymore.

The powder blue blanket was the color of the sky, with a few fluffy white clouds embroidered on it, giving it a warm and playful look. His nose tingled with a sourness, feeling like he had been living in a dream since waking up every day.

The usually aloof man was now lost in a warm reverie, feeling dizzy and unsteady, as if his steps were not real.

Was this real? His fingers trembled as he quietly looked up at her.

The sky tonight was adorned with a crescent moon, and the bright moonlight cast a gentle hue on everything in the room.

The girl blinked and said somewhat awkwardly, "Do you think it's childish, but I feel like you shouldn't use those gray and black colors every day, making you look lifeless."

His dark eyes flickered, shining brighter than the moon in the sky.

"Not childish," he said in a hoarse voice. "I like it."

Really, he liked it a lot. The next day at work, he packed the blanket into a small bag and carried it to work.

In the morning, the company was bustling with people, and many employees greeted Mr. Gu, whom they hadn't seen in a long time.

Mr. Gu remained as aloof as ever, responding to their enthusiastic greetings with only a slight nod.

But the pale blue paper bag he carried in his hand softened his cold demeanor somewhat.

Everyone was curious about what was inside the pale blue bag.

Jiang Xing had been hearing discussions about it since he arrived at the office in the morning, and he was also very curious. So during lunch break, he quietly slipped into Mr. Gu's office.

Mr. Gu was busy working on official documents, and when he saw Jiang Xing come in, he only glanced up and asked, "What's up?"

"Nothing, nothing," Jiang Xing scratched his head and laughed heartily, "Hey, it's already time to get off work. Do you want to try the new restaurant downstairs together?"

He still had the blue bag on his mind, and couldn't help but look around.

Gu Miao paused his pen and looked up at the computer, only to realize that it was indeed time to get off work.

He folded the blanket on his legs neatly and put it in the drawer before standing up and saying, "Let's go."

"No, wait," Jiang Xing stopped him, "That blanket you just covered yourself with, isn't it the one you were carrying in your bag this morning?"

Gu Miao asked curiously, "How did you know?"

"Oh my god," Jiang Xing exclaimed loudly, "How could you cover yourself with such a girly blanket?"

That, that girly blanket, was completely unsuitable for him.

Gu Miao's cold face stiffened, and after a moment, a hint of shyness appeared.

He pursed his lips and spoke with a hint of hidden pride, "She made this for me."

Jiang Xing's face froze, and the next second he understood who "she" was.

While others may not know the relationship between those two, he knew it very well.

He looked at the suppressed waves on Gu Miao's face and felt strange in his heart.

Miss Cheng always treated Gu Miao with a polite and distant attitude, so why did she make him a blanket now?

Jiang Xing wanted to ask but didn't dare to, and a strange expression appeared on his handsome face.

The office was quiet, and the phone on the desk suddenly rang urgently.

Gu Miao answered it, and after a few seconds, the corners of his mouth that were slightly raised could not be suppressed.

He hung up the phone and said to Jiang Xing, "I won't have dinner with you." He paused, a hint of unnatural anticipation mixed with shyness rising to his cheeks. "She's coming to have dinner with me."

Jiang Xing felt his throat tighten and took a few seconds to react before saying, "Brother, wait, what's going on between you two?"

Gu Miao's voice was filled with satisfaction. "We're doing great now."

"Tsk." Jiang Xing sighed. "Then please don't show affection in front of this single dog."

The words "affection" inadvertently made Gu Miao's heart tremble.

He blinked his dark eyes in embarrassment before looking up and saying, "You should go eat now."

Don't stay here, she's coming up.

Jiang Xing almost immediately understood his underlying meaning and glared at him in annoyance before leaving.

As soon as he left, Gu Miao took out the blanket from the drawer and obediently draped it over his lap. Not long after, there was a slight sound outside the door. Gu Miao immediately sat up straight, placing his hands neatly on the blanket.

With a "click," the door opened a crack and a girl poked her head in.

Upon seeing Gu Miao, the girl's eyes squinted with joy before she pushed the door open and entered the room.

"I brought your favorite sweet and sour pork, but it's made by the aunt. This dish is a bit difficult, and I haven't learned how to make it yet," the girl's voice was as light and cheerful as a lark, and Gu Miao felt his mood improve instantly.

In the winter, the office's heating was turned up high, and Gu Miao was covered in a blanket, sweating slightly on his forehead.

Cheng Chu walked over and saw the blanket, a smile appearing in the depths of her eyes. "You actually brought it to the office," she said, her voice low.

Gu Miao pursed his lips and didn't say anything, but his dark eyes revealed a sense of entitlement.

Of course he had to carry it with him! It was a gift from her!

"I feel like your office is quite hot, do you want to put away the blanket first?" Cheng Chu placed the lunch box on the table and said casually.

Gu Miao hesitated for a moment, his bright eyes slightly dimmed, "Okay."

He just wanted to show that he had listened to her and obediently covered himself with the blanket, but she didn't understand his meaning at all.

Gu Miao couldn't help feeling a little disappointed. He pursed his lips, put away the blanket, and then stood up to help Cheng Chu set up the dishes.

The winter office was warm.

Cheng Chu looked up.

The man in front of her was full of disappointment, with drooping shoulders and eyes like a lost puppy who had lost its food.

She blinked in confusion and asked, "What's wrong with you?"

He didn't answer, just shook his head sullenly.

"Are you unhappy with work?" Cheng Chu picked up a piece of sweet and sour pork with her chopsticks and offered it to him, coquettishly saying, "Don't be unhappy, have some pork. Next time, I'll learn to make it for you."

He blinked his eyes and looked up. The noon sun was not glaring, but rather warm and gentle, shining down on the girl.

She smiled with her eyes and looked at him with her clear and bright peach blossom eyes.

Gu Miao felt stiff all over and unconsciously opened his mouth, chewing on the pork.

"Is it delicious?" She curved her eyes and spoke with a comforting softness.

He nodded, feeling like he had just been fed a mouthful of candy. The silly sense of loss from earlier disappeared instantly.

For the whole day, Gu Miao was immersed in happiness.

Even when he went to bed at night, the joy still lingered in his heart.

The stars in the sky blinked happily. The two slept together again tonight, and as expected, in the middle of the night, the girl drowsily squeezed into his arms.

Although there was a hint of struggle on Gu Miao's face, his hand was slightly open, waiting for the girl.

Her soft body leaned against him.

His heart melted, and the next second he surrendered and hugged her.

But today, her scent seemed different.

A faint fruity fragrance mixed with the coldness of winter, slowly entered Gu Miao's nostrils.

Then, it spread shallowly in his heart. The fruity scent was slightly sour and sweet, it was his favorite mango flavor.

In the quiet night, the sound of his beating heart was particularly clear.

The girl was still asleep, unconsciously rubbing against his neck and murmuring something.

He couldn't help but hold his breath and listen. On a cold and lonely night, the howling wind outside sounded like sharp blades.

But the girl's voice was soft and gentle.

"Miao Ge."

She whispered softly, with a hint of attachment and longing.

Gu Miao's heart stopped.

Was she calling him?

His hands trembled and he dared not even breathe, afraid to miss the girl's next murmur.

The cold wind slammed against the window, making a muffled sound.

The girl's breath carried a sweet fragrance, spraying on his neck with each exhale.

But she quieted down and didn't call him again.

Gu Miao couldn't help but feel a little disappointed, even doubting if he had just imagined it all.

Yeah, he lowered his gaze and thought with a hint of disappointment.

Although Cheng Chu no longer called him Mr. Gu as coldly as before, this intimate nickname was something he had never heard before.

It must have been his own confusion, conjuring up all these thoughts. In the pitch-black night, all of his senses were heightened.

Lost in thought, Gu Miao suddenly felt a warm sensation on his neck.

He still had his arm around the girl's shoulder, and it was as if he had been struck by lightning.

Was that her kiss? His eyes widened as he looked down.

The girl, still asleep, furrowed her brow and unconsciously twisted a few times, her soft lips brushing against his neck.

Gu Miao's heart was filled with waves of tingling sensations, and the skin on his neck felt like it was on fire, quickly igniting with heat.

Unfortunately, that scorching heat spread recklessly, seeping into his brain and slowly spreading throughout his body.

The air was filled with the girl's light and fresh fruit fragrance.

Gu Miao looked down at the girl, and the heat in his heart almost consumed his rationality.

Suddenly, he really wanted to kiss her. Just, just a quick one.

Secretly.

The little man in his heart drummed up the courage.

Gu Miao felt his heart pounding like a drum, unable to resist the longing in his heart. He lowered his head slightly and kissed the girl's forehead.

He suddenly felt grateful for the pitch-black night, which could conceal his blushing cheeks and ears.

That faint fragrance instantly permeated his heart.

It was his favorite scent.

And she was the person he loved the most.

The author has something to say:

Gu Miao: Just sneak a kiss, it won't be discovered!
