Stuttering Big Boss’s White Moonlight

Stuttering Big Boss’s White Moonlight

Chapter 73 - Chapter 73

The hospital room was quiet, and the girl lying on the bed was thin and weak, her long eyelashes trembling.

Cheng Chu opened her eyes.

The faint smell of disinfectant in the air invaded her nostrils, causing her to frown involuntarily.

A person wearing a nurse's uniform was standing by the bed, changing the IV drip. Hearing the movement, she turned her head.

"Mrs. Gu, you're awake?" She looked surprised.

"I...am I in the hospital?" Cheng Chu remembered that she was still studying in M country and had passed out due to staying up late to do homework.

It should be Zhou Yanshi who brought her to the hospital.

But why was the nurse in this hospital Chinese? And why was she called Mrs. Gu?

Cheng Chu's confused mind was not enough to figure out what was wrong around her. She tried to sit up with her hands, but found that her calf was in excruciating pain.

"Hiss." The small nurse beside her quickly helped Cheng Chu up and said, "Madam Gu, you injured your leg, but it's just a minor injury. Rest for a few days and you should be fine."

But Mr. Gu was a different story.

Cheng Chu asked with some confusion, "Why are you calling me Madam Gu? And where is the person who brought me here?"

The small nurse became flustered. According to rumors, this couple had a good relationship, so why was Madam Gu rejecting this title? She obediently answered the second question, "It was a passerby who found the accident and called 120."

"Accident? What accident?" Cheng Chu gradually realized that something was not right and her tone became anxious.

The small nurse furrowed her brows, "Two days ago, you and Mr. Gu had an accident on Hubin Road."

Cheng Chu's heart skipped a beat. On Hu Bin Road, there was a car accident. Wasn't this a matter from a past life?

She grabbed the young nurse's arm, her voice trembling, "How is Gu Miao doing?"

The nurse was taken aback, looking at her expression before stuttering, "Mr. Gu, Mr. Gu just left the ICU yesterday."

"But you don't have to worry too much. Leaving the ICU means he's passed the critical period. Maybe he'll wake up soon." The nurse hurriedly comforted her.

Cheng Chu felt her eyes welling up with tears in an instant.

She threw off the covers and struggled to get out of bed, "I want to go see him."

"But Mrs. Gu, you still have an IV in your hand," the nurse exclaimed.

"I'll take care of it myself." Cheng Chu turned around and grabbed the IV bag. She was already frail, and now wearing loose hospital clothes, she looked like nothing but a skeleton. To make matters worse, one of her legs was injured, so she could only hop towards the door of the hospital room.

The young nurse sighed, "Let me find you a wheelchair and take you there."

It was just before sunset, and a few rays of evening light shone into the hallway.

Sitting in the wheelchair, Cheng Chu finally saw Gu Miao.

He lay on the hospital bed, his already pale face devoid of any color, his body covered in various tubes. The gloomy aura of death seemed to emanate from his body.

Cheng Chu bit her lip, tears uncontrollably streaming down her face.

The hospital room was quiet, with only the faint sound of medical equipment.

The young nurse had left at some point.

Cheng Chu lowered her gaze and couldn't help but hold the hand that was hanging down on the hospital bed.

It was icy cold, as if there was no sign of life. Cheng Chu's heart couldn't help but tremble.

In the past, Gu Miao's hands were always hot, and whenever he held them, Cheng Chu couldn't help but feel nervous and sweaty in his palms.

But now, the coldness emanating from those hands was so bluntly transmitted to Cheng Chu's heart.

She lowered her eyes and with a "plop," warm tears left a small water stain on his dry skin.

"Please wake up, okay?" Cheng Chu held onto those hands tightly, pleading weakly.

Outside the window, the autumn wind suddenly rose, blowing the yellow leaves all over the ground.

The fingers that Cheng Chu held onto seemed to tremble unintentionally.

But she was particularly aware, silently and despairingly weeping.

Until a hoarse and weak voice came from the air -

"Don't cry."

She suddenly stopped her tears and looked towards the hospital bed.

In the autumn day, the room seemed to have a hint of coldness.

The man seemed to have no strength left in him, but his eyes were slightly open, and the fiery flames that almost overflowed from them almost instantly burned up Cheng Chu's heart.

Her face still had tear marks, and her butterfly-like long eyelashes were wet with dew, trembling slightly, looking pitiful.

Gu Miao almost used all his strength to pull his hand out.

Then, he lifted his hand and slowly floated it up to the girl's tear-stained cheek.

It was warm and moist, like the breeze that blew in the spring, making Gu Miao's heart soft.

He gently wiped away the tears.

"Don't cry."

Don't cry for me, it's not worth it.

The sky was clear and the air was fresh. For some reason, since Gu Miao woke up, every day was a good weather day.

Cheng Chu was already able to leave the hospital, but Gu Miao needed to stay in the hospital for a while longer due to his more serious injuries. The bright sunshine poured into the corridor, making the world seem brighter.

Carrying a thermos, Cheng Chu walked into the farthest corner of the ward.

The once pale and cold room now had a touch of brightness.

Gu Miao lay on the bed, and upon seeing Cheng Chu, her heart trembled slightly.

His fingers curled up, unsure of what to say.

Since waking up, the girl had been much closer to him. He understood that it was all because of the accident, but even so, he couldn't help feeling satisfied.

In a corner of his heart, he even felt grateful for the accident that had caused him so much pain.

Several brilliant sunflowers were placed by the window, which Cheng Chu had brought a few days ago.

Gu Miao would occasionally look at them, and the pain in his body seemed to diminish. Cheng Chu walked over and placed the thermos on the windowsill. She whispered, "Are you feeling better today? Does it still hurt?"

Gu Miao, who had been in pain and unable to sleep last night, shook his head and said softly, "It doesn't hurt anymore."

"Well, that's good." Cheng Chu couldn't help but smile, and the light in her peach blossom eyes made Gu Miao's heart skip a beat.

He pursed his lips, and the little person in his heart danced with joy.

Cheng Chu said, "I heard that the hospital food isn't very good, so I brought some porridge for you to eat today."

She rocked the bed and then turned to open the thermos.

The thick aroma filled the ward.

Gu Miao watched her slender figure and felt a warm feeling slowly flowing in his heart.

He looked at the girl's still unstable footsteps and said, "You don't have to go through so much trouble, just rest at home."

But the next second after he said these words, he regretted it.

"Will I never see her again if she doesn't come?" Gu Miao's leg pain gradually dissipated, only to gather slowly in his heart. He lowered his gaze, staring at the snow-white sheets, filled with regret and saying nothing.

The girl paused and said, "No."

Gu Miao's eyelashes trembled as he looked up in disbelief. A warm light fell on the girl, and in the hazy glow, Gu Miao saw her bright, star-like eyes, revealing a hint of stubbornness and seriousness.

The girl looked straight at him and said, "I will come."

Gu Miao's fingers trembled, and for a moment, his brain lost control. By the time he regained his senses, he had already nodded in agreement. But that was his innermost desire. He wanted to see her every day, every second.

The girl suppressed a smile and asked, "So, do you eat porridge or not?"

This time, he followed his heart without hesitation.

The autumn ward was warm.

Cheng Chu handed him a bowl of porridge.

Gu Miao reached out to take it, but was avoided.

"I'll feed you," Cheng Chu said seriously, looking at him.

"What, what?" Gu Miao was stunned, his heart pounding wildly, causing him to stutter for the first time in many years.

The girl looked at him, her clear peach blossom eyes showing a hint of amusement.

Even her voice sounded light and cheerful, "Let me feed you, okay?"

He lost his heartbeat, his breath, completely immersed in the girl's words, and lost himself.

A warm sensation spread across his lips, and he came back to his senses, only to find that the girl had already brought the spoon to his mouth. His ears were a little warm, but that was nothing compared to the boiling heat surging in his heart.

He stared blankly, mouth agape, as the girl fed him porridge.

The warmth flowed down his throat and into his heart, and he felt a strange emotion silently spreading throughout his body.

He lowered his gaze and looked at the girl who was so close to him, his eyes gradually filling with warmth.

"Is it delicious?" she asked, her eyes shining like the bright sunlight outside the window.

Gu Miao felt like the car accident had taken away his sense of taste, but the trembling in his heart made him ignore everything else, focusing only on her.

But he still nodded and praised, "It's delicious."

The girl suddenly smiled, her eyes curving with joy, and the happiness that flowed from her almost made Gu Miao lose his mind.

Since they got married, he had never seen her smile so happily before. Most of the time, she was as cold as ice, even the occasional smile she showed was mostly polite and distant.

Outside the window, birds chirped and the autumn day was particularly warm and charming.

Gu Miao looked at the girl's smiling face and felt like he was lifted up into the clouds, soft clouds enveloping him, and even his heart was filled with a dizzying happiness.

He was fed another spoonful of porridge.

This time, he learned his lesson and took the initiative to compliment, "It's delicious."

Cheng Chu's movements paused, she looked up and met those clear and cold eyes.

Those eyes were like the only light shining in the long night, piercing through the cold air and softly reflecting in her eyes.

Her heart felt a little sour.

Why did she never notice before that his eyes were so bright when he looked at her?

It was as if in those pitch-black eyes, he only focused on seeing her alone.

A small crack in the window allowed a cool breeze to drift in on this autumn day, but Cheng Chu felt warm and content inside.

She lowered her gaze and blew gently on the porridge in her spoon, speaking softly, "From now on, I'll make this for you every day."

Gu Miao's breath caught in his throat for a moment.

"You made this?" His dark eyes were filled with disbelief.

Cheng Chu nodded. "Yes, I made it." She felt a bit embarrassed and murmured, "I haven't made it many times before."

She knew that Gu Miao was always quick to praise her, even if the food was barely edible. He would probably drink it down without batting an eye.

For a moment, the air seemed to still.

Then, like fireworks exploding in his heart, Gu Miao's voice turned hoarse as he tightly clenched his fingers. "It's delicious. Really delicious."

Everything she made was delicious. Cheng Chu couldn't help but laugh, a hint of mischief in her peach blossom eyes.

"Really?" she asked.

Gu Miao nodded vigorously.

"Well then..." Cheng Chu grinned and took a sip from her spoon. "Let me try it too."

With a "swish," Gu Miao's ears turned red as if they were bleeding, and countless fireworks exploded before his eyes, dazzling him with a brilliant light that almost made him lose his mind.

That was what he had just eaten from!

The author has something to say:

Gu Miao: So it's true that people go to heaven after they die.
