Chapter 41

Forcible Advances Part 2

Did he force himself on the young lady?

Hiss—

Pei Feng sucked in a sharp breath, pointing at Xie Yanli. "Xie Yanli, you, you, you!"

His shocked gaze fell on Xie Yanli's disheveled loungewear, pulled open below the neck, and his short hair, which was messy as if from after that. Pei Feng couldn't even speak properly.

Xie Yanli looked at him casually. "Is there something you need?"

After hearing his voice, Pei Feng finally knew he wasn't dreaming. His first reaction was to push Xie Yanli back into the room and then slam the door shut with a bang.

After hearing him shut the door, Xie Yanli turned and glanced at the bedroom door.

In the now empty and quiet living room, only Pei Feng's slightly heavy breathing could be heard.

He gripped Xie Yanli's wrist, his eyes serious and solemn as he asked, "Did you... to that young lady..."

"She's asleep." Seeing him so shocked he could barely breathe, Xie Yanli offered a rare explanation.

However, Pei Feng's imagination had already run wild to the ends of the earth. As expected of someone in the arts, his train of thought was truly marvelous. Upon hearing Xie Yanli's words, his face turned pale. "Asleep or unconscious?"

Unconscious?

Xie Yanli's eyes narrowed slightly. Qin Fan was perfectly healthy; she could run, jump, and bully people. How could she possibly fall unconscious while sleeping?

"No, I have to go see for myself!"

Saying that, Pei Feng tried to get past Xie Yanli to go to the master bedroom.

Xie Yanli's voice was light and faint. "She's just asleep. No need to worry."

"Really?" For once, Pei Feng doubted Xie Yanli's words.

Xie Yanli gave him a cold glance, then sat down on the sofa and began to busy himself with the tea set on the tea table next to the coffee table.

He disdained lying and couldn't even be bothered to explain.

Pei Feng probably calmed down gradually as well. He sat opposite him and downed the nearest teacup in one gulp.

Xie Yanli watched him drink the water used for rinsing the tea leaves but said nothing.

A short while later, he pushed a cup of properly brewed tea towards him.

Pei Feng picked up the teacup. Through the rising steam, he could vaguely make out the most handsome face among his childhood friends. Xie Yanli's expression was still indifferent and calm, as if nothing could cause the slightest ripple in his emotions.

Back then, when Pei Feng saw him start wearing a string of Buddhist prayer beads one day in middle school, he had suspected he had seen through the vanity of the world. He had even lamented that a person like Xie Yanli would probably never be interested in women; no matter how beautiful a woman was, in his eyes, she would just be a pile of pink-hued bones.

Unexpectedly, it wasn't that he had no interest in women, but that his standards were too high. Ordinary beauties couldn't even catch his eye; what he wanted was a fairy!

He sighed deeply. Only after confirming that he had completely calmed down did he say, "What are you planning to do? Are you planning to divorce?"

Xie Yanli's long fingers held the white porcelain teacup. He took a slow, methodical sip of the clear tea before saying faintly, "No divorce."

"There are no divorced descendants in the Xie Family."

Pei Feng stared at Xie Yanli, dumbfounded: "..."

Is he going to let Qin Fan be his mistress for the rest of his life? How wronged would Qin Fan be? Such an ethereal fairy, untainted by the mortal world, bullied by a capitalist reeking of money?

For a moment, he didn't know what to say. Pei Feng's expression was complicated as he stood there, contemplating the meaning of life.

Meanwhile, inside the room.

Qin Fan slowly woke up. After a comfortable stretch in bed, she tilted her head to look at the other side.

At some point, the bed had become empty.

Hmm, he just left like that?

Qin Fan blinked, then hesitantly reached out and tugged at the V-neck collar of her dress. Her skin was as white as jade, without the slightest hint of a love bite. Her whole body was clean.

Xie Yanli actually got out of bed just like that?

The image of Xie Yanli's usual abstinent, sacred, and inviolable demeanor appeared in her mind. She thought of what he said about the Greek word for diamond: hard and inviolable.

This was truly the best interpretation of him.

The dog of a man usually acted cold, abstinent, and inviolable, but in reality, the Little Xie hidden in his suit pants was hard and honest.

So what about Little Xie now?

To be able to get out of bed after using a wife as ethereal and beautiful as her as a pillow, maybe Little Xie really had a problem.

Qin Fan abruptly sat up in bed. She looked around and saw that Xie Yanli's black suitcase was still there, which meant he hadn't left the hotel yet.

No, she had to ask him clearly.

Qin Fan pushed open the bedroom door barefoot. Before she even entered the living room, her voice, slightly nasal from having slept for a long time, was the first thing to fill the space: "Xie Yanli, is your Little Xie still like the Greek word for diamond? Is it..." unable to get hard?

Her eyes met Pei Feng's dumbfounded handsome face, and Qin Fan's next words died in her throat.

The two stared at each other across the sofa, both wearing expressions of disbelief.

Qin Fan's mind was flooded with thoughts: Oh my god! Why is Director Pei here? Wait, what did I just say? Did I just make a dirty joke in front of Director Pei? And it was about Xie Yanli!!! I'm begging you, Director Pei, please be uncultured and not know this obscure piece of knowledge!

Pei Feng's mind was full of: Who is Little Xie? What was the Greek word for diamond again?

Right, a hard and inviolable substance.

So???

Holy shit?!!

After it dawned on him, Pei Feng's eyes nearly popped out of his head: So, who was bullying whom?!

He had actually thought Xie Yanli was bullying Qin Fan. But judging by Qin Fan's tone, it didn't sound like she was the one being bullied; it was more like she was bullying Xie Yanli.

Three minutes later.

Qin Fan sat obediently on the sofa opposite Pei Feng. Xie Yanli came over from the kitchen island with a glass of warm water, handed it to her, and then naturally sat down beside her.

Pei Feng crossed his arms, his interrogation-like aura undiminished. His foxy eyes narrowed slightly as he scanned the two of them. "You two, what's going on?"

"Who's going to explain?"

He had thought it was a one-sided thing from Xie Yanli, but now it seemed these two might be—partners in crime.
