Chapter 109 - Chapter 95 Part 2

Usually by this time, teachers of other subjects would not call students up to do questions anymore. They would seize every minute to lecture nonstop, or have students do test papers, then go through the test papers, repeating the key points over and over.

This is a key point, that is a key point, these are all key points, those have all been tested before! After one round it felt like there was nothing in the textbook that was not a key point.

Only Old Lu persisted tirelessly in calling names every class, feeling like this was the reason students paid relatively more attention in his class, never knowing when they might be picked out and scolded if they couldn't answer or recall something.

"Your handwriting has improved," Old Lu looked at the translation Jiang Cheng wrote on the blackboard, "Improved, not bad, not bad. If I were grading papers, I wouldn't deduct points for your handwriting."

"Thank you Teacher Lu." Jiang Cheng said.

It was true that his handwriting had improved, he knew it clearly himself. When he recited, he would also write out key points on scrap paper to reinforce memory and practice his handwriting at the same time.

According to Gu Fei, it had finally become legible.

"Da Fei!" After school, Wang Xu squeezed to the front row and sat down, "Jiang Cheng!"

"Hmm?" Jiang Cheng responded, lowering his head to continue writing the test paper he didn't finish during the last class.

"Are you free later?" Wang Xu said, "Let's go eat stuffed buns, my dad made a new flavor, try it?"

"What new flavor?" Gu Fei asked.

"Corn filling," Wang Xu said, "Actually it's nothing too special, but the taste is good, really, want to eat it?"

Gu Fei looked at Jiang Cheng.

"Ah forget it," Wang Xu waved a hand, "Shouldn't have asked you from the start...Jiang Cheng?"

"Okay." Jiang Cheng smiled and nodded.

Sooner or later he would have to shut Wang Xu and Zhou Jing up, Wang Xu could stay for a few more days, after all he could provide delicious stuffed buns.

"Call Er Miao too?" Wang Xu said.

"No need," Gu Fei said, "My mom made wontons for her today."

"Then let's go," Wang Xu stood up, "Let's go, go, go."

Jiang Cheng's time every day was arranged very tightly. After school he went straight back to the rented room, didn't even go to the store anymore, because the time spent waiting for meals wasn't very efficient, it was somewhat distracting. So he was asked by Gu Fei to just go straight back to the rented room, and food would be delivered.

After eating, basically there were no other activities for the rest of the night, just reading, reciting and doing exercises.

Of course there was still leisure and relaxation time, bedroom activities though tiring were very rejuvenating...

Going to Wang Xu's house to eat stuffed pancakes today was considered the first socialized recreational activity in two months.

"I used to think Yi Jing was studious enough," Wang Xu lamented as he rode his bike, "After seeing Jiang Cheng I know I was inexperienced.

"Isn't Yi Jing quite hardworking?" Gu Fei said.

"Still feels different," Wang Xu glanced at Jiang Cheng, "I noticed these days, Jiang Cheng is skinnier than Yi Jing."

"....Shut up." Jiang Cheng said.

Couldn't mention getting skinnier again. The ingredients and portions of the meals Gu Fei prepared every day were aimed at high quality pig fattening. Hearing Wang Xu say he got skinnier, Gu Fei could probably pry his mouth open and stuff food in.

"Hey," Wang Xu rode up next to Jiang Cheng, "Top student Jiang, have you decided which university to apply to? Have you decided on a major?"

"No." Jiang Cheng said.

"The f*ck?" Wang Xu was stunned for a moment, "People all say top students have the ambition from young to get into a certain university no matter what, and they finally make it in, very motivational. How come you still haven't decided?"

"I," Jiang Cheng turned to look at him, "will go wherever I want, don't need ambitions from young."

".....Fuck off," Wang Xu glared at him, "I can't stand top students like you pretending to be poor!"

"I'm not pretending to be poor," Jiang Cheng laughed, "I'm just showing off."

"So annoying." Gu Fei said from the side.

"Damn!" Wang Xu yelled, "Can you two be more upright! We're going to my house to freeload a meal! Can you show some tenderness towards the provider of this meal!"

Wang Xu's dad Wang Er...seems not to be called Wang Er, but Jiang Cheng had never asked what his actual name was. In any case, the meat buns made by Wang's dad were definitely the most delicious meat buns he had eaten in his entire life.

These meat buns with just a few bits of meat and mostly corn filling were still so tasty.

Of course, after eating a bunch of the corn buns, he supplemented them with three large layered pork meat buns.

"My goodness," Wang Xu's mom came in to bring them snacks and looked at the empty basket on the table, "How did you eat so fast?"

"He's trying to gain weight for winter," Wang Xu pointed at Jiang Cheng, "A top student like him can eat like this and still stay skinny."

"And you dare say that," Wang Xu's mom slapped the back of his head, "You eat it all and it just goes to your body, none of it to your brain!"

"Ow!" Wang Xu gave his mom an embarrassed look, "Don't hit me in front of my classmate!"

"So what if I hit you? So what?" Wang Xu's mom slapped his head twice more.

"It'll make you dumb." Gu Fei said.

"Oh it's already too late for that, I've been hitting him since he was little, he's probably dumb already," Wang Xu's mom put two plates of spicy dried beef on the table, "Try it, it's aromatic, spicy but not tough."

Jiang Cheng took a piece and put it in his mouth.

"Does Jiang Cheng really love eating the buns from our home?" Wang Xu's mom asked with a smile.

"Yes," Jiang Cheng nodded, "Extremely delicious."

"We'll have new flavors for the New Year," she said, "If you find eating at home too oily during New Year, come here to eat buns!"

Jiang Cheng was taken aback for a moment before nodding: "Okay."

"You talk too much," Wang Xu pushed his mom, "Go on, we want to chat for a bit."

After Wang Xu's mom left, Wang Xu went to close the private room door, "Jiang Cheng, sorry about that, my mom doesn't know..."

"It's fine," Jiang Cheng smiled, "Really, it's fine."

The New Year is almost here.

If Wang Xu's mom hadn't mentioned it, he wouldn't have noticed the New Year was almost here.

He only knew the winter break was almost here but there would be make-up classes, and his classmates had all expressed their inability to accept this cruel reality.

But Jiang Cheng had never associated the winter break with the New Year.

Perhaps he didn't dare think about it.

A tranquil mind doesn't mean one can remain tranquil when New Year arrives.

After all, it's a time of family reunion, red and fiery, dizzy and chaotic, hahaha...
