Chapter 38 - I Won't Hit You Anymore

Chu Sui seemed quite devastated, lying on the bed for half a day without moving, like a salted fish. The System wanted to cheer him on, but before it could shout out a slogan, it was swatted away by a pillow.

Chu Sui was in a foul mood: "Stop hovering in front of me."

The System thought to itself, 'This host is seriously messed up. I can only reform him slowly in the future. For now, I'll let him calm down.' So, it silently faded its form in mid-air.

When Arno rushed back from the Military Department at noon, he went straight to the second floor. When he pushed open the door, he saw Chu Sui sprawled on the bed with a blank expression, looking as if he had lost all will to live, his shoes still on.

He exuded an air of a noble young man, with pride and indulgence in the corners of his eyes and brows, clearly having never suffered any hardship. His ink-black hair was scattered on the bed, and his pupils were purer and more brilliant than obsidian. Due to his foul mood, his lips were tightly pressed together, as if wishing the whole world knew he was unhappy.

Chu Sui's hair and eye color were very special among the Zerg Race, a pure and mysterious black that Arno had never seen before. He noticed the faint shoe prints on the bedsheet, then knelt on the floor and leaned over to take off Chu Sui's shoes. "Male Master, what would you like for lunch?"

Chu Sui came back to his senses and glanced at him, still a little intimidated inside. But then he remembered he had been reborn, and Arno wouldn't dare do anything to him at this point, so he was no longer afraid. He rolled over on the bed, buried his face in the pillow, and said, "I don't want to eat."

Chu Sui's temper came and went quickly. To put it bluntly, he was heartless and thoughtless. A person with a heart and conscience couldn't possibly have enjoyed himself in the Zerg Race for so many years. He had kicked Arno this morning, felt his anger was vented, and considered the matters of his past life settled, turning a blind eye as if nothing had happened.

This was one of his few good qualities. The response clearly left Arno unsure of what to do, but his usual disposition made it impossible for him to say anything tactful, so he could only maintain his posture, continuing to kneel by the bed.

The System silently reappeared: 【Have him get up…】

Hearing this, Chu Sui lifted his face from the pillow and took a look, only then realizing that Arno was still kneeling on the floor. He rolled over, propped his head with one hand, and patted the spot beside him with the other, saying lazily, "Come sit."

If Arno knelt, Chu Sui wouldn't react. If Arno didn't kneel, Chu Sui wouldn't get angry either.

'He's the one who wanted to kneel, what does it have to do with me?' Chu Sui had always thought this way.

Arno glanced at him upon hearing his words, his blue eyes betraying no emotion. He did as he was told, getting up and sitting on the edge of the bed, his presence faintly cool. "Male Master, what are your orders?"

This Male Monarch was just as stiff and boring in his past life, like a dead fish in bed, with no fun tricks. Chu Sui was used to it. He reached out and casually fiddled with the military family's rose cufflink on Arno's uniform. "No orders, just sit and talk with me."

They had been married for three months, and the number of times they had actually spoken could be counted on one hand. Arno didn't mind. He did whatever Chu Sui told him to do; all married Female Zerg were like this. "What would you like to talk about?"

Chu Sui didn't know what to talk about either. He simply wanted someone to talk to, so he casually asked, "How many years were you on the battlefield?"

Arno answered his question: "I previously served on the front lines for eight years, but because of a Bloodline Riot Period, I entered a stiffening period prematurely and was transferred to the rear. I currently hold a position in the Fourth Legion."

Female Zerg who entered the stiffening period could also return to the battlefield after being soothed by their Male Master's Pheromones, but they were a minority.

Arno fell silent after speaking. Chu Sui glanced at him, "That's it? You're so boring."

In the Zerg Race, besides the males, there were also Military Females and Sub-Females. As their name suggested, Military Females were females who served in the military. They were physically strong with high combat power and were mostly sent to the front-line battlefields. However, because their features were not delicate enough and their bodies were not soft enough, they were not favored by the males. Sub-Females, on the other hand, were small and cute, and were much more popular.

This was easy to understand. On Earth, most men liked petite beauties. Who in their right mind would look for a wife covered in muscles with off-the-charts combat power?

In fact, the Male Zerg were not completely useless. They had to pay a large number of contribution points to The Empire every year. Aside from the nobility, ordinary Male Zerg found it difficult to afford, so they had no choice but to marry a Military Female, because every Military Female who retired from the battlefield was allocated a large sum of contribution points.

Besides being good at combat, Military Females didn't seem to have any other advantages. If one had to be found, it would be that they were durable to play with. Their recovery ability was very strong; a cut on their body would heal in two or three days. Thus, many Male Zerg took pleasure in abusing them.

It was difficult to explain the reason. It was probably a remnant of animalistic genes from nature; the males found it hard to accept that the females were stronger than them.

When Arno heard Chu Sui say he was boring, he misunderstood his words. He silently slid off the bed, took a whip from the drawer, and handed it to Chu Sui. His cold, pale fingertips held the black whip, on which dark red blood scabs could still be faintly seen. "Male Master."

He only said those two words and then fell silent. His long, thick eyelashes drooped, hiding the numb emotion in his eyes. Then he unbuttoned his military jacket, tossed the top aside, and his lean body was exposed to the air.

Arno's skin was cold and pale. The bloodstains on his back had not faded, crisscrossing his body, a jarring dark red that silently aroused the destructive desires in one's heart.

Chu Sui listlessly picked up the whip, frowning as if considering something. Before he could move, the System popped out with a "swoosh": 【Ding! Host, please cease this violent behavior!】

Chu Sui paused. "Why."

Looking closely, there was an almost cruel innocence in his eyes. His worldview had not yet been properly formed. It wasn't that he truly had any intention to harm others; he just did what others did.

The System could only teach him: 【It is wrong to hit people for no reason. It violates the reformation regulations.】

Chu Sui: "He handed me the whip himself. It's not like I asked to whip him."

The System paused: 【Chu Sui, everyone's personality is different. Their actions often do not represent their true inner thoughts. No one likes to get hurt. Do you?】

'Of course not,' Chu Sui thought.

It was the System's first time disciplining a problem child: 【You and Arno are already married. Do you know what marriage means? Just like your parents, your partner is the person closest to you. Only if you are good to him will he be good to you.】

Chu Sui was a piece of shit spoiled by his parents. No one had taught him these things since he was a child. His family was busy making money, leaving him alone to find his own fun. When you reasoned with him, he might not take it all in, but he would get the gist of it.

Chu Sui fell silent for a moment upon hearing this. He looked at the whip in his hand, then at the wounds on Arno's back, as if deep in thought. A moment later, he finally gave up and tossed the whip aside.

Arno waited for a long time but did not receive the expected pain. Hearing a slight sound beside him, he instinctively opened his eyes, only to see the whip lying quietly on the floor. He looked at Chu Sui, his expression a little stunned.

Chu Sui said, "Get up."

After he spoke, seeing that Arno didn't move, he held out his hand to him and patiently repeated in a low voice, "Get up."

Chu Sui's hand was fair and slender, soft and without calluses. It felt cool like jade to the touch. Arno reflexively grasped his hand, and just as he realized what he'd done and was about to pull back, the other person applied a little force and pulled him up from the ground.

Chu Sui's hand was already very cool, but he didn't expect Arno's hand to be even cooler, as if it had been plunged into an ice cavern. He glanced over, "Are you cold?"

Arno hadn't expected this series of actions from him. "I'm not cold..."

Hearing this, Chu Sui let go of his hand and patted the spot beside him. "Come over and lie down."

Arno didn't know what game he was playing, so he could only lie down as told. However, before he could ask, the space beside him suddenly sank, and he found himself meeting Chu Sui's obsidian-like eyes.

Chu Sui lay on his side next to Arno, propping his head up with his hand to study him—or more accurately, to study the wounds on his back. He quietly contemplated what the System had just said, his tone holding a trace of imperceptible curiosity, and raised an eyebrow slightly. "Does it not hurt?"

Arno was stunned for a moment before he understood what he was asking. "It's fine. The self-healing ability of a Female Zerg is very strong..."

In other words, it did hurt.

Chu Sui gazed at the wounds on his back. Arno's high nose bridge and quiet, attractive demeanor gave him a look that was considered outstanding among the Zerg Race. "Then why did you still ask me to whip you."

Arno rarely showed any other expression, as if nothing Chu Sui did to him could cause the slightest ripple in his heart. Hearing his words, he tugged the corner of his lip in a barely perceptible motion. "I wanted to make you happy."

Chu Sui gazed into his light blue eyes. "But hitting you doesn't make me happy either."

His voice was very soft, a mumble, more like he was talking to himself, but it was caught by Arno's sharp five senses. Arno propped himself up slightly, the smooth muscle lines of his back tensing like a leopard lying in ambush in the dark of a forest. Then he looked at Chu Sui. "Then... what should I do to make you happy?"

Chu Sui: "Do you know about Blue Star?"

Arno thought for a moment. "I do. But according to ancient records, Blue Star disappeared millions of years ago."

Chu Sui hummed an emotionless "en," then said out of the blue, "Your eyes look a lot like it."

Arno's eyes were light blue, but his hair was silver-white. The combination of these two traits made him seem as cold as ice and snow, unapproachable. Back on Earth, Chu Sui had never liked to hang out with this type of person. He preferred those who were lively and could stir things up. Today, however, was a rare exception; he lay on the bed and chatted idly with Arno for quite a while.

This had never happened in his previous life.

Perhaps it was because he had company, but Chu Sui's heart, which had been shattered by the System's blows, finally healed a little. He opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling, feeling a sudden wave of loneliness. He thought of his parents, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't remember what they looked like.

He had been in the Zerg Race for too long...

Time was like a merciless beast, slowly devouring his remaining memories.

Chu Sui threw a leg over Arno. "It's numb."

Hearing this, Arno sat up. His long, strong fingers began to slowly massage his leg. A moment later, Chu Sui's voice suddenly sounded by his ear, "I won't hit you anymore."

Arno's movements paused abruptly. He then heard Chu Sui repeat, "I won't hit you anymore."

Although Chu Sui still didn't think there was anything wrong with hitting people—he often got into group fights in school, leading a gang of underlings to brawl until they were black and blue, trading punches and creating chaos—he not only felt no shame but thought it was quite manly.

But perhaps the System was right. A partner was different. At least Chu Sui had never seen his parents fight.

When he said this, his mind was still wandering, but his tone was about seventy to eighty percent serious. Arno didn't understand why Chu Sui seemed a little strange today. He leaned over slightly, a lock of silver-white hair falling beside his face, and looked into his eyes, saying in a low voice, "Thank you."

Chu Sui was shameless. "Mhm, you're welcome."

Perhaps because he was so easy to talk to today, Arno's actions seemed less reserved than usual. After a moment of silence, he tapped the Light Computer on his wrist, and a message resembling an invitation popped up in mid-air. "The Capet Family is holding a banquet tonight. Would you like to go?"

Just as Earth had the rich and the poor, the Zerg Race also had nobles and commoners. It was just that their class division was more stringent, with four ranks: a, b, c, and d. Above that was s, but the latter mostly only existed among Military Females. Male Zerg were too useless; having an a-rank was already reaching the heavens.

The higher the rank, the stronger the spiritual power, and the more powerful the offspring they produced.

Arno was an S-class Military Female and came from a noble family. Chu Sui's physique was tested as A-rank. In the gene pool, the two of them had the highest compatibility rate, which was equivalent to a state-assigned partner.

Chu Sui didn't often make public appearances. He felt that his looks were too unconventional for the Zerg Race. For at least several years in his past life, he had never seen another Zerg with black hair and black eyes like him. It was as strange as an East Asian person being dropped into a crowd of foreigners.

Chu Sui thought for a moment before saying, "Alright."

He was idle anyway, so he could treat it as looking for some fun. If worst came to worst, he could just wear a mask.

There were ready-made formal suits in the closet. Arno picked one out and helped him dress. Chu Sui lazily spread his arms like a grand old man. He casually glanced down and saw Arno buttoning his shirt for him, his eyelashes trembling slightly, his nose bridge fair and high. He suddenly found it quite interesting, raised an eyebrow, and flicked his earlobe with a fingertip.

A fleeting ticklish sensation brushed against his ear, startling Arno into raising his head instinctively. Chu Sui then watched as the spot he had touched began to spread with a faint blush, like rouge dissolving in water.

Chu Sui found it a bit novel. He had never seen Arno look like this before. He couldn't help but stare at him intently for a long while. His own eyes were too bewitching, making it hard for others to look at them for long.

Arno's heart fell into disarray. He didn't even notice he had buttoned it wrong. Only when he reached the bottom did he realize the alignment was off, and he hurriedly undid it. "My apologies, I'll redo it for you."

Chu Sui hummed in acknowledgment, like a three-year-old disabled child who couldn't take care of himself. The System felt this couldn't go on, and appeared with a "ding": 【Host, please dress yourself.】

Chu Sui felt this ball was pushing its luck. "On what grounds?"

System: 【Do you know who has others help them get dressed?】

Chu Sui raised an eyebrow. "The emperor?"

System: 【A Zerg with no hands.】

Now, whenever Chu Sui heard it mention the word "Zerg," he felt uncomfortable all over, unable to stop himself from recalling that heartbreaking question of whether he was a human or a Zerg. Hearing this, he frowned and irritably pulled the clothes from Arno's hands. "Forget it, I'll dress myself."

It had been too long since he had done it himself. His movements while buttoning up were incredibly stiff, and he only gradually became proficient after a while. Then he sat on the edge of the bed to put on his shoes, frowning in thought for two or three seconds before remembering how to tie a bow.

The System thought to itself, 'This good-for-nothing can't even tie his own shoelaces. This is killing me.'

For some reason, Arno did not intervene. He stood aside, watching Chu Sui finish dressing and tidying himself up. Only then did he reach out to straighten his collar, saying in a low voice, "You are very capable."

Chu Sui was a little happy and a little smug upon hearing this. He was just a very vulgar young master who loved to hear praise, and at times, he was also very simple-minded. He pinched Arno's chin and said half-jokingly, "If you had been this savvy before, I wouldn't have hit you."

In his past life, Arno had worn a deadpan, icy expression every day. Chu Sui didn't even like looking at him.

Arno lowered his gaze to the hand pinching his chin. "Before?"

Chu Sui listlessly retracted his hand and started walking downstairs. "You wouldn't understand even if I told you."

The Flyer was parked at the entrance, similar to the cars used for transportation in the human world. Chu Sui got on, found a good seat, then put on his mask, crossed his arms, and leaned back against the seat to feign sleep.

Arno followed closely behind, then silently sat down opposite Chu Sui. He rested his chin on his fingertips, his light blue eyes quietly studying him, hiding a hint of deep thought. The pilot turned his head to look at him. "Major General..."

Arno didn't look at him, simply raising a hand silently, signaling him to head to the destination.

The Flyer flew very smoothly, without the slightest bit of turbulence the entire way, so much so that Chu Sui didn't even know when they had arrived. Arno stepped forward and reminded him in a low voice, "Male Master, we've arrived."

Hearing this, Chu Sui's chest rose and fell for a moment, and then he woke up. He glanced outside, slowly got up from his seat, straightened his collar, and stepped out of the Flyer with Arno.

The Capet Family's manor was very large. Sub-Females stood at the entrance to welcome guests. Further in was a garden lawn with a huge fountain in the center, the sound of its trickling water incessant. The passing guests were all elegantly dressed, no different from the human world.

In this world, Male Zergs were mostly shorter than the females. Chu Sui's figure was tall and slender, almost the same height as Arno. Although he wore a mask, he still attracted a lot of attention.

Chu Sui hadn't come here in his past life, so he wasn't very familiar with the place. He put one hand in his pocket, undid the top button of his collar, and couldn't help but feel a little creeped out, remembering that he was surrounded by Zerg. He glanced at Arno before looking away again.

The latter seemed to sense his mood. He took a small step forward, moving closer to him. The light fell on his pale eyes, making them shine for a moment. "I will accompany you inside."

The Imperial Capital had four great noble families, second only to the imperial family. The Capet Family was one of them. If one didn't have status and standing, they really couldn't get into this banquet.

Arno was from the Hoffmann Family. His Female Father was the Adjudicator in charge of The Empire's laws and was currently the highest-ranking law official. There was one thing Chu Sui could never figure out: nobles usually chose to marry into families of a similar rank. Arno was an S-class Female Zerg and wasn't bad-looking either. Logically, it shouldn't be hard for him to find a partner, for example...

The eldest young master of the Capet Family?

He raised an eyebrow, his gaze sweeping across the banquet hall. In the crowd, there was a gorgeously dressed Male Zerg with two delicate and soft-bodied Sub-Females in his arms. Because these Sub-Females had long hair, they looked no different from human women. He was truly enjoying a life of luxury with beauties.

Just then, a Sub-Female happened to pass in front of Chu Sui. He was petite with a slender waist, and his flaxen-colored long hair was draped over his shoulders, his figure graceful.

Very coquettish, right?

Very beautiful, right?

Very alluring, right?

...

Whips it out and it's bigger than yours.
