I Won't Treat This Patient

Chapter 57 - The Imperial Marshal's Little Slave 54 Part 1

"What? You don't like it?" Audrose asked with some hesitation.

Everything had gone smoothly as planned, but he didn't expect to get stuck at the last step.

Su Duan did have some objections, but it seemed a bit hurtful to say it directly. Audrose was sincerely inviting him, and he couldn't just casually refuse.

Audrose reached out and touched his chin, speculating, "Although Reunion looks like a dull green now, it will be very beautiful when the flowering season arrives. It hasn't been opened to the outside world yet, so we can play there alone."

He then pulled up a photo of the planet during its flowering period. What appeared before Su Duan's eyes was a planet layered with various colors - pink, red, blue, purple... The petals of various colors were intertwined like layers of clouds, appearing soft and dreamy, as if a painting of the utmost rendering was depicted on the surface of the planet.

Su Duan: "..." No, I think it's become even greener.

Seeing that the little slave still didn't respond, and his expression seemed to become even more distressed, Audrose paused and turned off the information about this planet, "If you don't like it, we won't go. Let's pick another one."

Although he didn't know exactly where things went wrong, it seemed that the invitation for their first trip was likely to end in failure.

He would have to reflect carefully on where the problem was.

Su Duan was still struggling. Upon hearing this, he hurriedly said, "I don't dislike it!"

He paused and said softly, "It's just... can we go when it's green? I prefer that color, um... healthy!"

"Huh?" Audrose made a slight questioning sound. The green state of Reunion was its normal period, and the scenery was far less beautiful than when the flowering season arrived. Although he hadn't studied flowers, he knew this basic common sense.

The aesthetic sense of their little slave seemed to be somewhat different from ordinary people...

With this thought flashing through his mind, Audrose compromisingly kissed the slightly curved brow of the little slave, "I'll listen to you. There's still plenty of time, we can choose slowly."

No matter where they went, as long as this person was by his side, even the normal state of Reunion would have many sights to see.

Su Duan let out a sigh of relief and nodded repeatedly.

Stalling for now... maybe after a while Audrose would forget about this strange planet that blooms with many flowers!

The starship continued forward. After leaving the capital star domain, the visible scenery became the cold and vast black universe. Most of the time, it was quiet to the extreme. Occasionally, a corner of the starry river would appear in the distance, flashing with faint light, and then silently disappear at the next course change.

Four hours after leaving the capital star domain, the fleet began wormhole jumping. The jumps were dense and rapid. After the third jump, Su Duan quickly developed discomfort.

Although it was only a slight dizziness, Audrose decisively called for a military doctor.

Su Duan was completely wrapped in a quilt and was strictly forbidden to get out of bed and move around before the doctor arrived. He struggled to pull his two arms out of the quilt and tried hard to explain, "I was only dizzy for a few minutes, and now I don't feel anything. There's no need to go to so much trouble."

Audrose's spiritual body had been staying by his side, shielding him from most of the discomfort brought by the jumps. The part he could feel was already very small.

Audrose stuffed the two arms that had struggled out back in, leaned over and kissed the corner of his lips with thin lips that brooked no refusal, saying, "No, there are more jumps ahead. Any discomfort must be resolved as soon as possible and cannot be delayed."

Su Duan opened his mouth and froze in distress, "..."

He tried to make it clear to Audrose that his two minutes of dizziness, similar to the daze when waking up, was far from the point of calling a doctor, but no matter what he said, Audrose remained unmoved and firmly kept him in bed.

He wasn't the kind of person who would force himself to endure discomfort, as that would truly be troubling Audrose, but this level of discomfort didn't require such a strict response.

It would just be a waste of the doctor's time.

Just as Su Duan was distressed about how to persuade Audrose to dismiss the idea of calling a doctor, the doctor had already knocked on the bedroom door with great efficiency.

After the door opened, a slightly familiar figure walked in.

"Come, come, come, let me see what's going on. Already in bed, is it that serious?" Avid was wearing a decent white coat and carrying a silver medical kit in his hand. At first glance, he indeed looked like a noble battlefield angel.

-- If one ignored the third button that was always unbuttoned in a dissolute manner and the inexplicably somewhat messy golden hair.

Su Duan's eyes widened slightly, a little surprised by Avid's appearance on the starship. He remembered that Avid was from the research institute, so how did he become a doctor?

The system explained, "Avid's major was originally in the medical field, and he also passed the clinical test and has a medical license. When military affairs are busy and medical resources are tight, it is very common for researchers to also serve as military doctors."

Su Duan: "I see."

Audrose looked his younger brother up and down, but didn't criticize him for not dressing properly. Instead, he stepped aside to reveal Su Duan on the bed.

Avid took out the examination device, his emerald eyes meeting Su Duan's for a few seconds, the corners of his eyes curving slightly as he asked, "Where do you feel uncomfortable?"

"Dizzy," Audrose answered before Su Duan could reply.

Avid lowered his head to connect the examination device to several locations on Su Duan's arm, started it, and then asked, "How long were you dizzy for?"

Audrose accurately answered, "Two minutes and nineteen seconds."

"..." Avid paused for a few seconds, then dutifully asked, "Apart from dizziness, are there any other reactions, such as fever, limb weakness, swelling and pain in the eye sockets, and so on?"

Audrose glanced at Su Duan on the bed, and after receiving a firm shake of the head, said softly, "No."

Avid: "..."

Seeing his elder brother covering the person like this, he thought that this black-haired slave was already so uncomfortable that he couldn't get out of bed. He was puzzled as to how, with his elder brother's mental strength, he couldn't even protect one person.

As a result--??

After silently repeating "this is the man who reimbursed you double for the mecha" three times in his heart, Avid finally suppressed the urge to roll his eyes.

He wasn't sure if it was his illusion, but ever since he was beaten up that day in the mecha training room because his dragon instinctively went to sniff the black-haired slave, his elder brother's tall image had gradually collapsed in his heart...

The inspection device completed the check in tens of seconds and stopped with a beep. Avid looked at the data on it and read out the conclusion: "Hardly even mild sequelae of wormhole jumping. Probably about five minutes before I arrived, his body had already completely self-healed."

In other words: nothing was wrong at all.

Su Duan's face suddenly turned red. He said there was no need to have Audrose call the doctor.

So he mumbled a little, very embarrassed, and said, "Sor..."

Audrose used a little force and pinched his wrist, interrupting his apology before it could be spoken.

Avid also tactfully waved his hand: "No need, no need. I'm free anyway, not on the battlefield yet."

"...ry." However, Su Duan still persevered in saying the last word.

Audrose: "..."
