Chapter 50 - The Imperial Marshal's Little Slave 47 Part 2

Aegeanro.

This was a beautiful planet with an ocean coverage of over ninety-five percent. From a distance, it was almost entirely deep and light shades of blue, like a gentle large water ball that could soothe any restlessness.

In fact, it was indeed so. The temperature on Aegeanro was suitable and the weather was mild -- at least most of the time. In Audrose' memory, he and Avid had been brought here many times by their parents, and only once had they seen the sky's gloomy face.

When piloting a starship to land here and walking down to gaze at the sea, one would find that the seawater, which appeared to be pure blue from a distance, had taken on a lively cyan hue.

When the sun lazily shone down, the cyan seawater would refract shimmering waves, as gentle as sighs escaping from the mouth of the sea god.

Even if one did nothing and just looked, one would feel their soul being washed clean by a strange power.

This planet was already a famous tourist planet three hundred years ago. Later, it was acquired by Empress Sefir's father as one of her many dowries when she married the emperor. It was then gifted by Empress Sefir to her eldest son and recorded under Audrose's name.

Although he had been brought here many times as a child, this was the first time Audrose had set foot on this soft sandy beach since Empress Sefir's death.

On the light-colored sandy beach walked the three most powerful men in the Delaire Empire.

The person walking at the front had a similar build to Audrose, both tall and well-proportioned, full of explosive power, clearly from the military. Even their appearances were similar, both with light golden hair and deep light blue eyes.

It's just that compared to Audrose, he was obviously much more weathered, and his eyes also carried a hint of lingering turbidity.

This was undoubtedly Audrose's biological father, the current Emperor of Delaire. His countenance had the typical coldness and hardness of those in power, without a trace of softening even in front of his two sons.

Audrose walked slightly to the right behind the Emperor, his expression equally indifferent. Avid followed closely behind him, cautiously glancing at the calm sea from time to time, as if wanting to stick to his brother.

Audrose gave him a sideways glance, signaling him to walk properly, but Avid resolutely pretended not to receive his hint and continued to be a little chick following behind.

Audrose: "......"

None of the three spoke. After disembarking from the starship, they quietly walked to a small duplex wooden house.

This was the house they used to stay in when vacationing here. Although it looked simple, the materials used were a very special type of wood with strong resistance to corrosive substances. Even now, there was no sign of erosion from the sea breeze, still standing firm and steady.

With a creak, the wooden door was pushed open and the three entered one after another.

The place was regularly cleaned, so it was spotless without a speck of dust.

The Emperor looked around, using his psychic power to open a small box on the table. He took out an item, stared at it with a nostalgic gaze for a few seconds, then suddenly called out to his eldest son in a deep voice, "Audrose."

Audrose was momentarily dazed.

In the three years since Empress Sefir's death, the Emperor had never called his name again, always referring to him as "Marshal" even when sending messages discussing official matters.

After so long, hearing this form of address without any suffix, looking at the Emperor's face that was identical to his own, Audrose felt a bit unaccustomed for a moment.

But his daze didn't last long. After a brief distraction, he immediately responded, "Any orders for me?... Your Majesty."

For an instant, he almost wanted to address the Emperor as father, but due to years of habit, what came out in the end was still "Your Majesty".

The Emperor didn't seem to mind the form of address. He stared at him dully for a while, then handed over the item in his hand.

"...Something Sefir left for you," he said.

Audrose took it. It was a pale purple gemstone, almost transparent, with only a tiny pale purple flower bud crystallized in the very center, as if it would bloom at any moment.

This was a memory recorder, Audrose recognized it immediately.

—So this was a recording Empress Sefir left for him?

Why had he never heard the Emperor mention it?

Audrose held this small stone, pondering slowly with lowered eyes. The Emperor also fell silent, the air so quiet it was almost suffocating.

Just as the atmosphere was freezing over, a golden head poked out from behind Audrose.

"What about me, Father... is there one for me?" Avid asked in a very small voice.

The Emperor glanced at him and replied coldly, "No."

Avid didn't seem to give up. "Could you... could you double check?"

"Stand properly when you speak." The Emperor scolded him. Seeing Avid hurriedly come out from behind Audrose and stand up straight, he then said, "Yours was given to you three years ago."

Avid: "...Oh right."

Audrose: "......"

Although he had never been close with the Emperor, perhaps because they were too alike, he almost immediately guessed the Emperor's thoughts.

Three years ago, Empress Sefir had left mementos for both him and Avid. Avid received his at the time, while his was privately withheld by the Emperor.

The reason probably stemmed from dissatisfaction with his indifference towards his mother's death at the time, coupled with long-standing disapproval, finally erupting.

He had been angry for a full three years before agreeing to give him the memento left by his mother.

Audrose: "......" The duration of the anger was indeed quite long.

Before Audrose could say anything, the Emperor was already impatiently urging them away in a cold voice, "You may leave now."

Audrose hesitated for a moment and said, "Your Ma..."

The Emperor immediately interrupted him, "I'll stay here alone for a while. You take the main ship back and leave the spare ship for me."

There was no room for negotiation in the Emperor's tone. Audrose could only say, "Alright. Goodbye, Your Majesty."

He and Avid didn't take the main ship, but left in the spare ship. The main ship had better safety measures, so leaving it for the Emperor was the most reasonable choice.

As the starship rose higher and higher, Audrose looked down at the shrinking beach and wooden house.

Suddenly, a huge black dragon crawled out of the wooden house. Audrose's eyes narrowed.

This dragon, viewed from behind, was almost identical to his and Avid's.

It should have been in its prime, but due to the loss of its mate, it showed a hint of untimely aging. It dragged its tail, leaving a long trail on the sand, finally stopping not far from the shoreline, quietly gazing at the tranquil deep sea, without any of the calmness and ruthlessness its master usually displayed.

Avid said beside him, "That's Father's dragon."

Audrose let out a soft "Mm", lifting a hand to press down on his hat brim.

After the starship completely left the range of Aegeanro, Avid suddenly asked, "Brother, do you remember that time it rained on Aegeanro?"

Audrose glanced at him from the corner of his eye. "I remember. You nearly drowned—although to be precise, you were just stuck in the shallows for half an hour, then got so scared you never dared to go near the sea again, and still haven't learned to swim to this day."

The esteemed imperial prince still can't swim. No one would believe it if word got out.

A constipated expression appeared on Avid's face, a mix of relief and embarrassment. "...I didn't realize Brother remembered things about me so clearly."

Trying to save face.

However, the only other person present didn't give him that courtesy. After watching for a while longer by the observation window, he turned and left.

Avid knew he was probably going to view the memory recorder he just received from the Emperor and had the sense not to follow and bother him.

His jade-green eyes shifted slightly, gaze falling on the Aegeanro planet that had become a mere dot, sighing softly.

Sure enough, he still hasn't remembered—

......

In the prince's residence.

Su Duan stared blankly at the dragon who had buried its head in the iris flower bed, for a moment he even doubted his own existence.

With such a dense flower bed, who knows how much pollen from other people's flowers would be rubbed off by plunging its head in!

——It would be better to come and steal his instead!

Su Duan sniffled aggrievedly, but before he could squeeze out any tears of sadness, the dragon excitedly raised its head, then used its pollen-covered head to nuzzle him, pushing him into the flower bed as well.

Su Duan: "......" No matter where he breathed, it was the scent of other people's pollen.

Forget it! This partner is unacceptable!

However, before Su Duan could angrily struggle out of the flower bed, the dragon, as if showing off its accomplishment, gently pushed something in front of Su Duan with its bony wings.

Its throat even emitted a purring sound representing excitement.

Su Duan looked down and saw a small black box, covered in soil, apparently just dug out.
