"Being anxious is useless, calm down." Bai Ling shook her head and stood up, gazing towards the east with a hint of worry in her eyes. She now had a severe sense of crisis.
This feeling of a blade at her back finally made her understand why Old Seashell had been so afraid before. Her instincts were urging her to run, run as far as possible. But she was also worried that if she hid well and the Demon Dragon couldn't find her, he would go to Guiyi Immortal Sect, where traces of her aura remained.
Hearing her concerns, Old Seashell was dismissive, "The Demon Dragon is unlikely to go to Guiyi Immortal Sect. Even if he wants to vent his anger, it won't be at Guiyi Immortal Sect; there's also the White Sea..." Realizing something halfway, he glossed over it. "Anyway, little master, your priority now should be worrying about yourself."
"I know a place we might be able to go," Lu Linsheng suddenly said.
Bai Ling looked at him.
"Demon Abyss," Lu Linsheng said.
Demon Abyss was separate from the human realm, belonging to another world. The auras on both sides were isolated. If they wanted to temporarily hide from the Demon Dragon, Demon Abyss might be the most suitable place.
It was also the place Lu Linsheng was most familiar with. The only problem was that the entrance to Demon Abyss was in the East Sea, and the Demon Dragon was also in the East Sea right now.
"Demon Abyss, is that the place you mentioned before, where you used to stay?" Bai Ling thought for a moment and made up her mind, "Alright, let's go to Demon Abyss."
Old Seashell protested, "No, he must have ulterior motives, deliberately trying to trick you into going to the East Sea to die! Anywhere is fine, just not the East Sea. Little master, don't be bewitched by his looks! And he's not even that good-looking!"
Bai Ling tapped the clam shell, not answering him. She could understand Old Seashell's reluctance to let her go to the East Sea. The dragon race had an innate fear of the Demon Dragon, and species attached to dragons, like Old Seashell, were even more susceptible to it.
He was also timid, probably scared out of his wits. But besides that, she had nowhere else to go.
"We need to hurry," Lu Linsheng said, looking at the distant horizon. Now he could also vaguely sense something. A red glow appeared on the horizon, enchanting and charming.
"You don't like heights. If you can't see, will it feel better?" Lu Linsheng asked.
Bai Ling replied, "...If I don't know I'm high up in the air."
Lu Linsheng said, "Alright, I'll wrap you up. We'll just fly at the height of ordinary treetops, so you won't be able to see. Is that okay?"
Bai Ling could accept that height, but... "What do you mean wrap me up?"
It meant transforming into his original form and enveloping her in those black silk threads. Bai Ling was intrigued by Lu Linsheng's words and directly agreed. Lying in the darkness, she felt like a cat trapped in yarn.
Lu Linsheng's original form had a pair of huge, crow-like black wings on his back, which he rarely used. At this moment, feeling Bai Ling inside his body, his entire being seemed to be filled up. He miraculously felt a sense of complete satiation, no longer feeling that ever-present hunger and appetite.
Those black wings suddenly spread open, carrying him into the sky like lightning. Unlike what he said before about flying at treetop height, he directly soared high into the sky, touching the moist clouds.
But Bai Ling didn't know. She lay inside Lu Linsheng's body, feeling it was very magical, because he was completely made up of black silk threads without any internal organs. It looked like an empty black box.
After some turbulence, she felt Lu Linsheng must have taken flight. There was a bit of dizziness, but not too severe, probably like the feeling of sleeping in a bunk on a train in the past.
"Wuwuwu, I knew this Lu Linsheng had ill intentions. He tricked the young miss into his mouth. Isn't he going to eat the young miss? Young Miss, why are you so foolish? He opened his mouth and you still jumped in. Now you're really going to die. My young mistress has such a bitter fate, wuwuwu!" Old Seashell wailed.
Bai Ling: "What are you afraid of? I believe Lu Linsheng won't eat me. Even if he wants to eat me, I'm going to die anyway, so I might as well let him eat me. I'm more familiar with him and don't know the Demon Dragon. Don't you think this makes sense?"
Old Seashell: "..."
Bai Ling: "Old man, stop crying, okay? There are pearls rolling everywhere, hurting my waist as I lie on them."
She pushed aside the pearls that had rolled under her body and were pressing against her. Out of boredom, she curiously began to pick at the black threads. These threads were very soft. Although they were terrifying and brutal when catching demon beasts, now they were soft and had no attacking power as they wrapped around her. Bai Ling was secretly a little excited and touched everywhere. As a result, she pulled out a thread end.
A thread end? Bai Ling lay there and started winding the thread end around her finger. As she wound it, she discovered that light was sparsely shining through in front of her.
Bai Ling: Oh no! I poked a hole in Lu Linsheng's back!
She remembered when she was a child, she would pick at the threads of her sweater out of boredom in class. By the time she had wound out a ball of yarn, the nice sweater on her body was only half left, turning into a small vest.
Bai Ling let go of the thread end, not daring to pick at it anymore.
"Lu Linsheng, are you okay?"
Lu Linsheng's voice was a bit different from when he was in human form, a muffled voice, but seemed to carry a hint of laughter. "It's okay, just for some reason it feels like my body is a bit drafty."
Bai Ling guiltily covered the place she had picked open with her hand, instantly forgetting that she was in midair.
She was inside his body, so how could Lu Linsheng not know what she had done? If he were in human form right now, he might have laughed so hard he fell over.
Author's Note:
One day, Bai Ling was very bored, so she rolled Lu Linsheng, who had transformed into his demon beast form, into a big ball of black yarn and knitted a black scarf. (What a silly little skit!)
