Fake Slackers

Fake Slackers

Chapter 77 - Chapter 76

Xie Yu had never spoken such clingy words before, although his tone was still a bit cold. He leaned against the back of the chair and looked at him silently after finishing. On the other hand, a can of ice-cold cola he had just bought at the door was beside his hand, emitting a cool mist.

You are He Chao.

Just be yourself.

It has nothing to do with anything else.

"..." He Chao slowly tightened his grip on his hand, wondering if he was hearing things, and begged, "Say it again?"

Xie Yu replied, "I advise you not to ask for too much."

He Chao was dressed quite plainly today, in a simple outfit without even a flashy earring.

Even so, he still stood out.

The lighting in the cinema was poor, especially in the back row. People around them couldn't help but turn their heads and whisper since they entered.

Even on the bus ride back, Xie Yu had no idea what the movie was about because He Chao, taking advantage of the flickering light from the screen, leaned closer to him across the armrest and took away his breath.

The action was intense and urgent, as if he was crashing into him.

He didn't even care about kissing him in public and whether or not anyone would see.

The voices around them grew fainter and fainter.

Apart from the movie sound effects and the noisy chatter, all that was left was He Chao's restrained words, as though talking to himself, "...it's killing me."

The movie was almost at its end, and finally, the male and female protagonists overcame all obstacles and embraced each other on the screen.

Xie Yu leaned back a bit and put some distance between them. His voice was a bit hoarse as he asked, "Are you going back to school later?"

He Chao looked down at his crotch and made sure his sweater covered it, so it didn't look too obvious. Then he said, "I'm going home. The school locks its gates at 4:30, and I won't make it in time."

No. 2 High School has always been strict, especially on weekends, to prevent boarding students from staying outside for too long and having any accidents. The school gates close promptly at 4:30.

Xie Yu didn't know what he was looking at, so he followed his gaze and his eyes landed on a certain spot, pausing for two seconds.

"Got hard?"

"If I'm not hard, I'm not a man," He Chao pulled down his sweater a bit and said, "Don't look at me, let me be for awhile."

Buses came frequently on this side of Century City, with an average wait time of ten minutes. Just as he boarded and the bus had yet to leave the road leading out of Century City, Madam Gu couldn't wait any longer and made a phone call. "You said you'd be back soon...It's already so late, are you still having dinner at home?"

"I'm on the bus."

"You always go out to play on weekends with your classmates. Who are they? When will you settle down and study? How much longer until you get here?"

Xie Yu chose to ignore half of what she said and replied, "About half an hour."

After Madam Gu finished nagging at him about safety, she continued to scold him, but Xie Yu quietly listened for a while.

The feeling of "secretly having a date with his boyfriend" grew stronger in his heart. At first, he didn't think much of it, it was just the usual routine of having a meal and watching a movie. But now, he felt like he had done something extraordinary.

After Madam Gu hung up the phone, Xie Yu lowered his head and wanted to open the music player to pass the time. But he saw his phone's home screen, with a social media app showing 99+ unread messages.

He clicked on it and found that the Class 3 chat group was unusually lively, even Old Tang and Wu Zheng, who usually didn't pay attention to the group, were getting involved.

[Luo Wenqiang]: @Complementary angles, parallel lines, class representative, can we talk? I'm really curious about what you posted on your space.

[Wan Da]: I want to know too. It's truly breathtaking. I guess I just don't know enough about this world.

[Liu Cunhao]: What's going on? Why are you talking about? I'm going to take a look.

After disappearing for a few minutes, Liu Cunhao returned with a furious expression.

[Liu Cunhao]: ...

[Liu Cunhao]: What the hell is this?!

Old Tang had been slow to check the QQ messages and by the time he logged on, the important content had already been swiped away. He calmly sent a question mark.

[Teacher Tang]: ?

[Teacher Wu Zheng]: What is all this.

[Wan Da]: Teachers, come and take a look with us. [picture]

[Luo Wenqiang]: The class representative is just inhuman.

The picture was a screenshot of Xue Xisheng's QQ space.

There were no cute pet photos or popular emoji collections in Xue Xisheng's space. Instead, all the reposts were about the most comprehensive high school math knowledge points, the most beautiful chemistry experiments, and ten ways to improve learning efficiency.

In the screenshot, Xue Xisheng emotionally recounted his fate with the "Trivia King Battle" and thanked the organizers for holding this offline event. He then described his wonderful day in great detail.

- During the summer, while walking on the street, a flyer accidentally opened the door to my learning. Everyone here loves learning so much, and I feel my heart beating rapidly...

- The study methods shared by the "Top Ten in The Grade" who took the stage to exchange ideas benefited me greatly. I also learned to better utilise my pockets of time. The <Birth of Einstein> documentary was really amazing, and by the end, everyone couldn't help but shed tears. The soul never dies, and learning never ends.

- However, the only regret was not being able to witness the showdown between God X and the "Trivia King".

......

The post was long, and it was even accompanied by a picture.

It was a group photo with over ten people, each holding a book and smiling at the camera.

Xie Yu: "..."

Xue Xisheng probably didn't use his phone much while studying. After the group finished discussing, the excitement died down and he finally spoke up.

[Complementary angles, parallel lines]: ?

[Complementary angles, parallel lines]: This is a learning game, very interesting.

Seeing the words "learning game," Xie Yu remembered that in the eyes of these people, the battle between God X and the "Trivia King" was still unresolved.

After hesitating for a moment, he clicked on the Wisdom Fruit icon.

To his surprise, the discussion area for the Trivia King Battle game was peaceful. Everyone seemed happy, a kind of happiness that Xie Yu had only seen in the comments section when he surpassed the "Trivia King" during summer break.

"Learning, Learning, Learning, It's All I Live For": Like I said, it must be God X who is better!

"Top Ten In The Grade": I really want to see the study gods solve problems live.

"985211": I didn't expect this result, really didn't expect...

Xie Yu vaguely sensed that something was not quite right.

It wasn't until he opened his friend list and saw He Chao change his signature from "Victory belongs to me" to: I surrender, God X go easy on me.

The car stopped at a crossroads, just as the traffic light turned red.

Leaning against the car window, Xie Yu couldn't help but curse, "idiot."

The No. 2 High School anniversary performance is next month.

It sounded like there was still plenty of time, but after the novelty of participating in the festival in class wore off, the enthusiasm for choreography had waned. This applied even to someone like Luo Wenqiang who never forgets to dance while on duty cleaning windows.

Early in the morning, Xie Yu just entered the classroom and was greeted by the cultural committee representative who clearly had something to say. Xie Yu stood at the door and asked, "What's the matter?"

Xu Jing hesitated to speak.

"She wants to ask you," He Chao arrived early and sat in his seat, legs crossed. "Did you practice dancing at home over the weekend...No need to ask, it's obvious you didn't."

Not only did Xie Yu not practice, he didn't even remember this matter. "What dance?"

Xu Jing had asked around, but had completely lost hope. "We agreed on the Unbeatable Most Handsome Squad, having a stunning performance, fulfilling our dream."

Liu Cunhao was at home over the weekend, with spare time to play games and said while collecting homework, "This matter...Wan Da, you speak."

Wan Da said, "I can't explain, next."

As Luo Wenqiang was still having breakfast, holding a bag of meat buns, he struggled to swallow the mouthful he had just taken before defending himself to everyone: "The thing is, we are too easily satisfied. Look at us, we spend all day fantasizing in the group chat, and that's enough for us."

The classroom was noisy, with some students reciting texts and others copying homework.

The Mad Dog walked past the window twice.

Each time he passed, the classroom would temporarily quiet down.

"Good point, being content is the key to happiness," Liu Cunhao applauded and checked the homework. He noticed that He Chao had arrived early but hadn't handed in anything, so he raised his voice and said, "Brother Chao, can you hand in your physics homework? And Brother Yu, you too."

Xie Yu had just put down his things when he heard this and immediately lowered his head to search for his physics workbook in his desk.

This was the homework assigned last Thursday. It was only two pages, but he didn't write much and left more than half of it blank. The few answers he did fill in were mostly wrong.

Before he could even turn it in, his hand was grabbed by He Chao.

"What are you doing?" Xie Yu glanced at his hand.

"Your professionalism is lacking," He Chao whispered. "Are you just going to turn it in like this?"

Xie Yu didn't react.

He had left everything blank that should have been filled in and had made countless mistakes. It was the kind of homework that a physics teacher would look at and make him go to the office for extra education.

Before Xie Yu could even figure out what was going on, he heard He Chao ask Liu Cunhao, "We had physics homework?"

"..."

Liu Cunhao was speechless, but it was completely expected. He picked up a random book out of a stack of homework and threw it at He Chao, reminding him, "Page 56, hurry up, I have to submit it before class."

He threw it accurately, and He Chao caught it with a whistle and said, "No problem, I'll finish it in two minutes."

"How about it?" He Chao found a pen and planned to copy a few questions just for show. "Are you impressed?"

Xie Yu raised his hand to his forehead and said, "Impressed."

Before the morning self-study, Old Wu hadn't gotten enough entertainment from the class group chat. While the bell hadn't rung, he asked, "What's going on?"

After listening to the comments of the students, he said, "Oh, that's good. I suggest that our class download it too."

Luo Wenqiang said, "No, no, no, teacher. It's not really suitable for us."

Liu Cunhao said, "It's impossible."

Wan Da replied, "I would rather die than give in."

As they continued chatting, the bell for class rang. Old Wu knocked on the podium and said, "Alright, it's time for class. Today during morning self-study, I will give you a difficult problem to solve."

Before Wu Zheng could finish speaking, He Chao turned to ask, "Are we playing games?"

They were indeed playing games, but as they played, the chat in their team channel became a bit strange.

[Handsome He]: For that problem just now, I have three solutions.

[XY]: Two solutions, where did the third one come from?

[Handsome He]: Take the center point of the hypotenuse and connect it to point F, then take a look.
