Fake Slackers

Fake Slackers

Chapter 110 - Chapter 104 Part 2

There were six or seven people in the principal's office, all dressed in sharp suits and divided into two rows of school leaders.

Even though the principal of No. 2 High School had a bald spot on his head, he was still meticulous in applying hair wax to the remaining strands of hair, making them shiny and slick. He placed his hand on Xie Yu's shoulder with a smile, looking quite pleased with himself: "Cheese."

He Chao: "Cheese."

Xie Yu: "..."

"Come on, smile a little please, that student there," the photographer said, crouching down. He wanted to say "don't be so gloomy", but halfway through the sentence, he realized that the word choice wasn't quite appropriate, so he changed it to "don't be so serious".

Earlier, the principal had said that he wanted to include them in the school's history, and Xie Yu thought it was just a casual remark. But he didn't expect the school leaders to actually call in a photographer to take their picture.

As soon as they entered the office, before Xie Yu could even get a good look at the surroundings, the principal took a ribbon and hung it around his neck.

On a red background with yellow letters and two long gold borders, it read: Excellent Student.

"This photo must be placed in the center and recorded in the school history!"

"Let's write an introduction about the miracle created by these students of No. 2 High School..."

After taking the photo, even Head Teacher Jiang couldn't contain his excitement and led them out, saying, "You still have classes in the afternoon, go back quickly."

Without hesitation, Xie Yu took off the ribbon on his chest.

As He Chao closed the door and was about to go downstairs, he stopped at the staircase and said, "Head Teacher Jiang."

Turning around, Teacher Jiang asked, "Is there anything else?"

He Chao smiled and said, "I did pretty well on the exam this time."

"Hmm?"

"My desk mate did well too."

Head Teacher Jiang couldn't quite understand what He Chao was trying to say with this trickery: "Mm."

"Can we change dorm rooms now?" He Chao asked.

Previously, when He Chao came to apply for a room change, Head Teacher Jiang was furious. Two students who were at the bottom of their grades wanted to share a room? That was insane! Without hesitation, Head Teacher Jiang kicked them out.

But who would have thought that they still had this idea in mind?

Head Teacher Jiang hesitated and said, "You two..."

"We'll help each other, study together, and progress together," He Chao interrupted.

Xie Yu leaned against the stair railing, listening to this nonsense. Unable to resist, he lightly kicked He Chao's foot.

After considering their grades this time, Head Teacher Jiang was actually convinced by He Chao's words of "progressing together." Finally, he relented and said, "Okay, fill out the application form and submit it to my office before the end of school."

The efficiency of No. 2 High School was very high.

The application was submitted and all procedures were completed in no time.

That evening, after the end of self-study, there was a new name on the names posted outside Xie Yu's dorm room.

Xie Yu was used to living alone. He sat with his legs crossed on his chair, looking at He Chao who was busy organizing his things. There was a pile of stuff in the other half of the room that was originally empty, and Xie Yu was having a hard time adjusting to it.

He tried to focus on his test paper, but after only a few glances, he put down his pen and noticed that He Chao had already packed everything neatly in a cardboard box. "When did you start preparing?" he asked.

"A few days ago," He Chao replied.

"I wanted to be closer to my little friend," He Chao said as he moved his belongings over a few trips, sweating on his back and taking off his jacket. "To the point where I can open my eyes and see you every day when I wake up."

Xie Yu was stunned by what he heard.

As He Chao finished making his bed, he suddenly realized that he had forgotten about the content of the questions he had been working on.

He Chao didn't have much things, he moved just a few boxes over and he was done. He also brought over the "Sprint for the College Entrance Exam" poster that had been hanging on his door for a long time.

When Aunt Mei called, He Chao had just finished tidying up and was on his way to the bathroom with his dirty clothes.

Xu Yanmei was so excited that she couldn't speak properly, "Really the first place?"

Hearing the sound of running water from the bathroom, Xie Yu absentmindedly responded with an "Mm."

"Has that idiot at your house caused you any trouble?" Xu Yanmei calmed down and continued to curse with a slew of insults.

Xie Yu had to think for a moment before realizing that the "idiot" she was referring to was Zhong Jie.

"No, don't worry about it."

He didn't know how Zhong Jie reacted. Madam Gu had told him not to worry about it. It had been several days since the results came out and he hadn't received a call from Zhong Jie.

After chatting for a while, Xie Yu solved the last problem distractedly.

"Okay, I won't keep you. Take care of yourself..."

After Aunt Mei finished nagging, Xie Yu hung up the phone and threw it aside, only to see someone who had just finished showering and wasn't properly dressed opening the door.

He Chao's hair was still wet, and he was only wearing a shirt with a few unbuttoned buttons.

Xie Yu didn't think it was a wise decision to share a dorm with this person.
