Fake Slackers

Fake Slackers

Chapter 103 - Chapter 101 Part 1

As class time approached, the noisy hallway gradually quieted down.

Wu Zheng sat beside the podium, his eyes fixed on the two special "candidates" in the front row without blinking.

There were only three people in the entire classroom, making it look empty. One of them had finished the test, threw his pen, and went to sleep on the desk. From Wu Zheng's angle, he could only see the back of his head.

The other person had nothing to do and was doodling on a piece of scratch paper with a pen.

Before lying down, Xie Yu had only one thought in his mind: half an hour was still a bit long.

He closed his eyes for a while and vaguely felt a strong gaze on him. Feeling uncomfortable being watched, Xie Yu opened his eyes again and met his boyfriend's unreserved and scrutinizing gaze: "..."

"What are you two doing? Just hand in your papers when you're done," Wu Zheng said, glancing at his watch.

These two had only been working on the math test for about twenty minutes. He knew that this pair of desk mates had a good relationship, but they were still flirting right in front of him.

Wu Zheng didn't know what to say to them. He had already been through enough these past few days and couldn't handle any more. "Hand it in, then hurry up and get back to class," he urged.

In fact, Wu Zheng never even considered the possibility of cheating. He was more inclined to believe that these two had been struck by lightning during a walk together over winter break...and had damaged their brains.

Because with their grades, cheating was out of the question.

With the way He Chao was answering, who would cheat like this and give themselves such trouble? Where would they even find this kind of answers?

"Wait a moment."

Xie Yu took a few steps, only to hear Wu Zheng calling out to them from behind.

Wu Zheng cleared his throat and asked, "Did you guys organize any activities during the winter break?"

He Chao didn't understand the meaning behind his words and answered, "Yeah, we sang songs?"

Wu Zheng really wanted to ask about the weather that day, whether there was thunder or not, and most importantly, whether the thunder struck them. He hesitated for a moment, then swallowed all these meaningless questions and waved his hand, saying, "Alright, hurry up and go."

They took exams in Chinese, math, English, and one science subject, all morning long.

Although they said it was a new set of questions, in reality, there were only ten major questions on the test paper, but they were all far from ordinary and almost as difficult as those in top schools.

After handing in his paper, Xie Yu still had the various subject questions swirling around in his mind.

Lost in thought, he suddenly felt someone slip a piece of paper into his hand. "What's this?" he asked.

As he left the classroom, the noon sun beat down on him, and He Chao opened his jacket and said, "This is a masterpiece I'm giving you."

Xie Yu opened the scrap of paper in his hand, and on the back, in addition to some messy formulae, there was an abstract-style sketch.

The lines were messy, and it vaguely resembled a human figure. If he hadn't thought back to when that person had been staring at him during the retest just now, he wouldn't have been able to tell who the drawing was supposed to be of.

...Masterpiece his ass.

He Chao was quite confident in his drawing skills. "Are you surprised?" he asked.

"Surprised," Xie Yu calmly folded the draft paper and gestured for He Chao to come over.

He Chao was about to say "I don't ask for much, just a kiss on the cheek," when he was suddenly pushed and almost kicked down the stairs by Xie Yu.

Listening to the commotion in the hallway, Wu Zheng shook his head and looked back at the retest papers in front of him.

In the joint exam of four schools, No. 2 had produced two high scores.

After confirming that the scores were correct, this explosive news quickly spread across the year and not only circulated within the second year group, but also spread throughout the entire school.

The scores were unbelievably high, with either full marks or close to full marks in all subjects, and the gap between them and the third place in the grade widened by three digits.

The students in Class 3 were completely unaware, still immersed in the thought of "the other classes did so poorly on this test".

The first class in the afternoon was taught by Old Tang.

The scores had already been calculated, and knowing that these kids were eager to find out their grades, Tang Sen brought their report cards and planned to analyze the results with them, so that these students could have a plan and goal for the next half of the semester.

"Our class average this time is four point six higher than the other classes..."

He Chao was rushed by Xie Yu to the classroom door, and heard the cheers coming from Class 3, as if they were about to flip the roof: "What are they going crazy about?"

Xie Yu raised his hand to cover his ears, not commenting.

Wan Da was the first to jump up and shout, "It's true!"

Liu Cunhao's eyes were red with tears. As a grown man, he could easily shed tears of joy. "We actually did it!"

Luo Wenqiang exclaimed, "This is a miracle! We have created a miracle!"

"..."

Old Tang didn't quite understand what they were getting so emotional about. "Wait a minute, I haven't finished..."

But Liu Cunhao and the others couldn't wait. They had been skeptical about the possibility of achieving such a class average, but now even Old Tang had personally stamped its truth. They were overwhelmed with disbelief and joy.

They had truly defied the odds this time, dragging two bottom-ranking students along with their own strength and successfully raising the class average!

This group of people was beyond excited.

It wasn't until Xie Yu raised his finger and knocked twice on the door that they calmed down. He had no expression on his face as he said, "Reporting."

"You two came just in time. Come over here and stand next to me."

As Old Tang spoke, he flipped over another page of the report in his hand, pondering how to announce the news.

The entire Class 3 watched as the two students who ranked last in their year stood side by side at the front of the classroom. Xie Yu looked like he hadn't slept well, with his hands in his pockets and leaning against the wall.

"Well, it turns out that the top two students in our year are both in our class. Xie Yu, with a score of 150 in math, 146 in Chinese, 148 in English, and 300 in science, has a total score of 744 and is ranked first..."

"He Chao's total score was only one point behind, but..."

Before Old Tang could finish his sentence, there was a loud "bang" from below the stage.

Liu Cunhao had fallen off his chair and onto the ground, trying to grab onto the desk for support but failing. He lay there motionless: "..."

As his desk mate, Wan Da didn't offer a helping hand: "Does it hurt? It shouldn't hurt, how would it hurt in a dream."

Not only were all the students in Class 3 who had just been shouting "We're amazing, we've created a miracle" now in a daze, but the students in the neighboring Class 4 were also not doing well.

Liang Hui's face turned pale and then blue.

During physical education class in the morning, he had already bought drinks and shared them with his classmates to celebrate, saying that they would definitely beat Class 3 in the mid-term exam.

But now, every word he had said was like a slap in the face, constantly hitting him.

How could this be possible.

"Did they cheat? Those two in their class...is it true or not?"

"Don't talk nonsense, they passed the retake," said the homeroom teacher of Class 4. He was also surprised, but some things cannot be said recklessly, "The teachers of the grade level stayed up all night to create new questions, which were much harder than your mid-term exam questions."

The whole room fell silent.
