The kiss was fierce, stealing away Shi Jin's breath in an instant. With one hand held by Lian Jun and the other holding the gift for him, he was pinned against the door and unable to move.
"Wait...mmph!" Shi Jin tried to speak, but his words were immediately swallowed up by Lian Jun's lips.
Lian Jun didn't give him a chance to speak, instead changing the hand that held his arm to wrap around his body, while the other hand moved to the back of his head, pulling him into a more intimate kiss.
Thump.
Shi Jin's gift slipped from his hand and hit the floor. He raised his hand to embrace Lian Jun in return, feeling a bit excited by the passionate kiss.
With the response from Shi Jin, Lian Jun's eyes darkened. The hand that was wrapped around Shi Jin's back moved down, lifting his shirt and slowly slipping inside.
"Mmm... no, I've been on a plane for over ten hours and I smell." Shi Jin quickly turned his head in between kisses, using his skill to twist and grab Lian Jun's hand that was trying to sneak into his clothes. He leaned against Lian Jun's shoulder, slightly out of breath, and said, "And I'm hungry, the airplane food was terrible."
Lian Jun's movements instantly stopped, he took a deep breath and turned his head to rub his chin against Shi Jin's face, saying, "You've been gone for too long." His voice was a bit hoarse, with a hint of accusation.
"I'm sorry, I thought about Second Brother being alone abroad without anyone to take care of him, so I stayed a few more days." Shi Jin explained, stepping back to take a look at Lian Jun's face, then leaning in to kiss him again, praising, "You've gained a little weight since I left, baby, you're amazing."
Lian Jun refused the sugar-coated bomb and pulled him back by placing his hand on the back of his head, then gently bit his lip while turning his head.
Shi Jin deliberately stuck out his tongue and licked him.
Lian Jun immediately tightened his grip on his hand and said, "Stop it, don't mess around. I'm hungry and tired. I want to take a shower and go to bed. I can't sleep on the plane. Look at my dark circles." Shi Jin quickly acted pitiful, afraid that Lian Jun would continue to make trouble.
It was already past midnight, and if they continued to fool around, Lian Jun might not be able to sleep. Although he actually wanted Lian Jun too... No, no, everything was for the sake of Lian Jun's health.
Lian Jun could easily see through his little scheme. He felt both touched and heartbroken, so he held him tightly for a moment to feel his warmth before finally letting go. He took his hand and led him to a small table by the window, where he sat him down on a chair and presented him with a thermos food container.
"Is this for me?" Shi Jin was surprised that he had prepared food for him in advance. He hugged Lian Jun's waist affectionately and nuzzled him. "You're so sweet, my dear."
"You're being too loud again," Lian Jun scolded him, but he couldn't help but pat his head.
Inside the thermos food container were lean pork and preserved egg congee and two small plates of snacks, but the portions were not large.
"Before bed, it's not good to eat too much. It's hard to digest. Just have a little something to fill your stomach. Tomorrow, I'll take you to eat something delicious," said Lian Jun as he arranged the food. He then stood up and said, "I'll go prepare a bath for you. You can eat first." He bent down and kissed his cheek before leaving.
Shi Jin watched him walk into the bathroom, admiring his handsome figure. He then took a spoonful of porridge and savored it with closed eyes. "Lian Jun is so thoughtful," he sighed contentedly.
Xiao Si couldn't hold back and spoke up, "Jin Jin, don't you notice something strange about our baby?"
"What's wrong?" Shi Jin asked, confused. He was hungry and continued to eat his porridge, finishing half of it in no time.
Xiao Si raised his voice, "Our baby is standing up!"
Shi Jin was increasingly puzzled: "He could stand up before the rehabilitation, are you getting too excited now? Is your reflex arc too long, or have you short-circuited?"
After getting through the active period of toxins, Lian Jun gradually stopped feeling pain in his legs. Later, the factors that hindered him from walking normally were his physical weakness and lack of exercise for many years.
It was already July, and Lian Jun had been taking care of his body for more than two months. If you counted carefully, he had been in rehabilitation for almost a month, so standing up was not really a big deal. And to be a bit shameless, he had been gone for so long, so it was normal for Lian Jun to be excited and stand up to greet him, right?
"No, what I mean is that Baby's legs are not only able to stand, but also flexible and powerful. Didn't Baby just use his legs to push you around on the door? Can't you feel the difference in strength?" Xiao Si had to be more straightforward.
Pushing around on the door...
"Cough, cough, cough." Shi Jin instantly imagined some inappropriate things and almost choked on his porridge. He quickly said, "Xiao Si, what nonsense are you talking about? Baby is just a child, don't say such things..."
"Baby's legs are better! I didn't see a wheelchair in the suite, which means Baby is no longer using it! Even when Baby used to stand to greet you, the wheelchair was always nearby, but now it's not here in this room!" Xiao Si shouted in despair at Shi Jin's slowness.
Shi Jin was stunned. Finally, he understood what Xiao Si meant. His voice croaked out a meaningless and strange sound as he threw down the spoon and began pacing around the room.
There was no wheelchair by the sofa, no wheelchair around the corner, and no wheelchair behind the curtains. His heart rate increased with each passing moment as he hurried into the bedroom and searched around. Still, he couldn't find any trace of the wheelchair. He couldn't help but hold his breath and rush to the only wardrobe in the room that could hide the wheelchair. He pulled it open with a loud noise.
Clothes were hanging together, but there was no sign of the wheelchair.
"Ah!" Shi Jin couldn't help but shout.
Xiao Si was startled and asked, "Jin Jin, what's wrong?"
"Really gone." He muttered to himself, feeling a surreal sensation as if his soul had been pulled into mid-air. Suddenly, he slammed the closet door shut and ran towards the bathroom.
The bathroom door was open, and Lian Jun was crouching in front of the bathtub, carefully adjusting the water temperature. He leaned forward, one hand propped on the edge of the tub, the other hand feeling the water temperature, and most of his weight was on his legs. Moreover, he was squatting on one foot, in a posture resembling a single kneel, which was more strenuous than squatting normally.
Shi Jin looked at Lian Jun's current posture, unable to say a word. Even when his legs were at their best, Lian Jun couldn't do this kind of movement. His legs and feet would ache with just a little exertion, and after walking for a while, they would start to tremble.
This action, which compressed the nerves and muscles in his legs, would cause him so much pain that it felt like he was losing half his life.
Later, although his legs no longer hurt due to toxins, his body was too weak to stand for long periods of time, and he couldn't maintain his balance when squatting. Therefore, he had never tried to do this kind of movement before.
But now, Lian Jun was doing this ordinary movement naturally, and it seemed like he had been holding this position for a long time. This was the first time that Shi Jin had such a clear realization that Lian Jun was slowly recovering and getting closer and closer to being a normal person.
It had only been half a month since they last saw each other, yet Lian Jun had completely left his wheelchair behind. What had he missed during this time?
Splash.
The bathtub was finally filled with water. Lian Jun turned off the faucet and stood up, using the edge of the bathtub for support. He moved his legs, which were a bit numb, and turned around.
Their eyes met. Lian Jun stopped in his tracks and immediately smiled, leaning over and asking warmly, "How did you get here? Did you finish eating?"
Shi Jin's gaze fell on Lian Jun's legs, which were now able to walk naturally. Suddenly, he squatted down in front of him, reached out and grabbed his leg, gently pinching it, and asked, "Does it hurt?"
Lian Jun was taken aback for a moment, then his face softened and he bent down to pat his head, saying, "It doesn't hurt, and it doesn't feel sore or weak either. The effects of the toxins are gone, and the weakness in my body is gone too. The rehabilitation progress is going well. Just yesterday, Uncle Long took away my wheelchair."
Shi Jin tightened his grip on Lian Jun's hand and asked, confirming, "Does that mean you don't have to sit in a wheelchair anymore?"
"Yes, I don't have to sit in it anymore," Lian Jun replied confidently.
With a loud noise, Shi Jin's soul, which had been suspended in mid-air, finally returned to reality. He relaxed his body and leaned against Lian Jun's leg.
Lian Jun patted his head.
"I'm sorry," Shi Jin said, feeling both sad and happy, his emotions in turmoil. "I couldn't accompany you during your rehabilitation. I'm sorry... but I'm so happy that you don't have to sit in a wheelchair for the rest of your life, never again."
Lian Jun supported his shoulder and crouched down to touch his face, asking, "Shi Jin, how about we go watch a movie tomorrow? I'll buy the tickets."
Shi Jin was stunned, looking up at him and meeting his gentle gaze. He remembered the last time they went to the movies, when Lian Jun had to sit in a wheelchair and couldn't even see the ticket booth. His heart ached, and he nodded vigorously, "Okay, let's go watch a movie."
......
Shi Jin slept soundly without any dreams. When he woke up, he stared at the ceiling for a while in a daze before suddenly remembering something and snapping out of it. He turned his head to look beside him.
Lian Jun was sleeping peacefully next to him, a rare occasion where he didn't wake up early.
"Made you stay up late," he muttered, frowning. He turned to face Lian Jun and greedily admired his sleeping face for a moment. Then, he secretly leaned over and hooked his hand around Lian Jun's collar, while his leg under the blanket touched Lian Jun's leg.
Snap.
His hand was suddenly grabbed, and Lian Jun opened his eyes and asked, "What do you want to do?"
Shi Jin was startled and quickly leaned back, avoiding eye contact as he replied, "I just accidentally brushed past you, I didn't mean to do anything."
"Is that so?" Lian Jun grabbed his hand and pulled him closer, his leg moving under the blanket as he flipped over and pressed down on him. His right leg slid between Shi Jin's legs and rubbed against him in a suggestive manner. "But I want to do something."
Hiss...
The man who had just woken up was teasing him, but Shi Jin quickly retreated and said, "No, you have to eat breakfast on time, no fooling around."
"Breakfast time has already passed." Lian Jun pulled him back and pressed him down with his body. With his other hand, he grabbed his hand and placed it on his own collar, asking, "Don't you want to see how much weight I've gained?"
Shi Jin's gaze fell on his chest, hesitated for a moment, but ultimately, impulse overcame reason. He hooked his finger on Lian Jun's collar and said seriously, "Since you asked, I'll reluctantly take a look."
Lian Jun's lips curved up, and his hand moved down, slipping into Shi Jin's shirt hem.
......
The second morning back in B City, Shi Jin spent in his room. Fei Yujing, who had gotten up early, sat in the dining room with a cup of black coffee in front of him, expressionless.
Number Two glanced at him and comforted him gently, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder..."
"Give me a study," Fei Yujing interrupted him calmly and coldly. "I need to work."
Number Two shut his mouth and looked at him up and down, deciding to put away his sympathy and humanity. He stood up and said, "Speaking of work, Number Eight, who is responsible for business integration, has something to ask Lawyer Fei. Can we have a video conference?"
Without a word, Fei Yujing stood up and said, "Lead the way."
