Chapter 159

Reinforcements Part 1

After regaining his senses, Shi Jin got up from the ground and prepared to contact Number One to confirm the situation outside. But just as he stood up, he heard a muffled thud coming from outside the captain's cabin.

Someone was outside?

His expression changed, and he quickly pulled out his gun and tiptoed towards the door of the captain's cabin. He had previously instructed everyone to hide in the cabin and not come to the captain's cabin, but now there was a sound outside.

Could it be a spy? Everyone had fought tirelessly all night and was exhausted. If there was a spy, now would be the best time for a surprise attack.

He couldn't let his guard down. He tightened his grip on the gun and leaned against the door. Upon seeing the situation, Number Two furrowed his brow and also stood up, pulling out his gun. He lowered his voice and asked, "Is someone there?"

Shi Jin nodded and had already put his hand on the doorknob. After gently opening the door, he quickly crouched down and aimed his gun towards the source of the sound.

Number Two stepped back to cover Shi Jin.

Outside the door, where Shi Jin's gun was pointed, Fei Yujing was leaning against the wall with a tired expression. He was holding a rope, which was tied to the person lying face down on the ground, Li Jiuzheng. The scene was quite comical.

Shi Jin said, "Uh..."

"He insisted on coming over, and I couldn't stop him, so I just tied him up to prevent him from disturbing you," Fei Yujing explained, turning his head to look at him and asking, "Has the crisis been resolved?"

"Ah...well, maybe," replied Shi Jin as he put his gun back in his pocket. He glanced at Li Jiuzheng, who was tied up tightly on the ground and unable to move. He wanted to laugh but felt it was too inhumane. He cleared his throat and walked over to help Li Jiuzheng untie the ropes. "Second Brother, how could you tie up Fifth Brother? What if he hurt his hand? Fifth Brother is a doctor, you know," he said.

Fei Yujing's face was cold and indifferent as he spoke. "After we discovered the ship was surrounded, he suddenly went crazy and ran over here. We couldn't stop him, and he was waving a surgical knife around, threatening people. In order to prevent him from slowing us down or hurting innocent people, I had to tie him up."

Shi Jin imagined the scene described by Fei Yujing and paused in untying the rope. He glanced at Li Jiuzheng, who was stubbornly avoiding looking at himself, and with a warm expression on his face, he reached out and touched his head. He asked for a dagger from Number Two and directly cut off all the ropes on Li Jiuzheng's body, then helped him up.

Li Jiuzheng stood up, but kept his head down, not letting anyone see his face.

"Xiao Jin, don't mind him. He just cried in fear a moment ago. His face is probably covered in tears and snot, and he's too embarrassed to let you see," Fei Yujing added insult to injury.

Li Jiuzheng reached back and pulled out a surgical knife, reaching out to slash at Fei Yujing's face.

"Fifth Brother! Don't be impulsive! We're safe now, everything's okay." Shi Jin quickly grabbed Li Jiuzheng's hand and noticed that it was trembling slightly, with rope marks on his skin. It was evident that he had struggled fiercely while being tied up.

Shi Jin's heart softened, and he used his other hand to press down on Li Jiuzheng's tense shoulder, turning him around to face him. He then pressed Li Jiuzheng's head against his own shoulder, shielding his face and comforting him, "It's really okay, Fifth Brother. We're all alive and safe now."

Li Jiuzheng's body stiffened, and then he dropped the surgical knife with a clang, hugging Shi Jin tightly.

"It's okay." Shi Jin patted his back and looked towards Fei Yujing. Fei Yujing looked extremely disheveled, with his suit all wrinkled and buttons missing, covered in dust as if he had rolled on the ground. His forehead seemed to have hit something, forming a small purple bump.

Despite all this, his expression remained calm and collected. When Shi Jin approached him, Fei Yujing pulled up the corners of his mouth, reached out and patted Shi Jin's forehead, saying, "As long as we're alive, everything is fine."

He smiled, but Shi Jin inexplicably felt a bit choked up, and said with a smile, "I ate Fifth Brother's longevity noodles, which are supposed to make me live to a hundred years old. Of course, I'll be alive. Everyone will be alive... I'm sorry for putting you all in danger."

"It's nothing," Fei Yujing brushed off the dust from his clothes and looked around at the aftermath of the sea battle. "I don't think I'll ever experience something like this again in my lifetime. Thank you for letting me witness this scene."

Shi Jin watched him as he gazed into the distance with a nonchalant expression. He felt the tension in Li Jiuzheng's body slowly dissipate after hearing about the longevity noodles. He let out a sigh of relief and leaned against the wall.

Who would want to experience something like this again?

......

Number One, along with Number Three and Number Nine, quickly took down the enemy and cleared the battlefield. They then protected the heavily damaged main ship and left the vicinity of the channel at the fastest speed possible.

Half an hour later, Number One led his men onto the ship and reported, "One-third of Meng Qing's flying team escaped, four enemy ships fled, and the rest were all destroyed and sunk, leaving behind close to a hundred prisoners who are all locked in the cabin."

Shi Jin forced himself not to think about how many casualties the ambush had caused on the enemy side, nodded in understanding, and asked, "How are our casualties?"

"Twenty-eight wounded, none of them serious," Number One replied, glancing at his face and urging, "Young Master Shi, you've been up all night. Go eat something and rest for a while."

Shi Jin was feeling a bit tired, but he persevered and double-checked the situation in each department. Only when he was sure that everything was in order did he finally relax and say, "I'll call Director Zhang Zhuoyuan and then go rest. Everyone else can take a break and switch shifts. Thank you all for your hard work."

Number One responded with a sound and then left the captain's room. He walked to a place where no one was around, took out a satellite phone that showed an ongoing call from his pocket, and respectfully called out, "Young Master Jun."

"Has he gone to sleep?" Lian Jun asked on the other end.

"Not yet. Young Master Shi said he would call Director Zhang first before resting," Number One reported, hesitated for a moment, and then asked, "Why don't you contact Young Master Shi directly? He would be very happy to hear from you."

After a moment of silence, Lian Jun replied, "Let him rest for now. Summarize the situation at the scene and send it over. Remember to keep an eye on the surroundings and stay in contact." With that, he hung up the phone.

As soon as Number One put down his phone, he glanced back at the captain's room before turning and leaving.

Meanwhile, the conference call ended and everyone decided to retreat immediately to minimize losses and prepare for the aftermath and potential trouble from Zhang Zhuoyuan.

After arranging for the escape of the flight team members, Meng Qing sat calmly in front of the flight map, thinking about what Qi Yun and Lu Shan had said earlier.

His eyes flickered with uncertainty before he made a decision and dialed a number. "Hello? It's me... Yeah, I'm done with the conference... Can you lend me some firepower? I know, you'll have a share of the benefits... Yes, I'll give you the approximate location. There's only one person, and no matter what, I will make sure he dies at sea today!"

......

After contacting Zhang Zhuoyuan, all the people on the old ship, including Shi Jin, were finally able to relax and move to the new ship that had just arrived. Shi Jin went straight to the bedroom and threw himself onto the bed, falling asleep in an instant.

He didn't know how long he had slept when he was awakened by Xiao Si, who said urgently, "Jin Jin, don't sleep! Your progress bar suddenly started to rise again, and it's already at 700!"

Xiao Si's tone was anxious, and he seemed to be on the verge of breaking down. "What?"

Shi Jin suddenly woke up and looked at his progress bar. He saw the value jump from 700 to 800, which made his scalp tingle with shock. He quickly threw off his blanket and rushed to the captain's room without even bothering to straighten his clothes.

It was already past two in the afternoon, and outside the window, the blue sky and white clouds were peaceful and serene. The sea was calm, and seabirds flew by from time to time.

However, Shi Jin's heart was beating fast because as he ran, his progress bar was still increasing at an incredibly fast speed!

"What's going on? Weren't the enemy forces wiped out in one fell swoop? Lu Shan said everyone had retreated. Why is the progress bar still rising? Did someone send a second wave of troops over?" Shi Jin was on the verge of collapse. He stepped out of the cabin and ran towards the captain's room.

"8-880 points! Jin Jin, the progress bar is rising too fast. There must be danger nearby--wait, there are enemy forces in the sky behind us!" Xiao Si's voice suddenly rose.

Shi Jin was shocked and quickly asked it to give him the Thousand-Mile Eye buff. He ran to the railing and turned his head to look at the sky behind them. Sure enough, he saw three strange-looking small planes approaching rapidly from far away, and couldn't help but gasp in shock. It was a warplane, a real one... He grabbed onto the railing and turned to run towards the captain's cabin.

Number Three was standing outside the captain's cabin when he saw Shi Jin rushing towards him with disheveled clothes. He frowned and hurriedly asked, "What's wrong, Young Master Shi?"

"There's an enemy army!" Shi Jin said, rushing past him and into the captain's cabin. Inside, Number One and Number Nine were chatting together, and the captain and others were also chatting. Everyone seemed calm and peaceful, so Shi knew that the warplane that had just arrived must have been equipped with anti-detection devices.

Without explaining further, he ran to the captain's seat, immediately increased the ship's speed to the maximum, and opened up partial communication, ordering, "Attention all ships! Increase your speed, there's an enemy army approaching, be on high alert!"

The captain was startled by Shi Jin's actions and asked in confusion, "Enemy ships? But the radar didn't..."

Beep beep beep beep...

Suddenly, the alarm sounded, indicating an unidentified flying object appeared behind the ship.

The captain fell silent, staring in disbelief at the radar. What was this? Did Shi Jin have some kind of premonition?

"There are indeed ships approaching us, and they're big! One, two... a total of four! There's also a helicopter approaching," Number Nine, who was typing away on a strange laptop, suddenly stopped and frowned as he warned them.

Number One quickly leaned over to take a look at his computer screen and then looked up at Shi Jin.

"There are more ships?" Shi Jin was surprised, but then he breathed a sigh of relief - it seemed that their monitoring system was still very powerful, able to detect enemy attacks, even if the range wasn't as far as his buff.

He also joined Number Nine by his side, although he knew his behavior was already somewhat suspicious, but the situation was critical and there was no time to cover up. He quickly said, "It's definitely not a helicopter, helicopters don't have this kind of speed!"

If it wasn't a helicopter, then what could it be?

Number Nine thought of something, his expression changed, and he quickly began typing on the computer. After more than twenty seconds, the computer screen changed, showing satellite images of several fast-flying fighter jets.

"They actually came," Number One suddenly spoke up. Shi Jin was taken aback and frowned, asking, "What do you mean? Do you know that there will be enemy troops coming?"

"There is a secret cooperative organization near LS Islands under the Meridian Gate. Young Master Jun guessed that with Meng Qing's personality, after suffering a loss, he is likely to be unwilling and continue to send people to chase us. So he asked me to be vigilant at all times," Number One replied, holding back a sentence in his heart.

But he never expected that Shi Jin would be faster than the instrument in detecting the enemy's attack... Could this also be a kind of crisis intuition? He's too sharp.
