Chapter 77 - Chapter 63 Part 2

-Giving you a yacht!

-Giving you, giving you everything.

-Heavens, too cute.

"Now let's make puppy bread." Yan Hang brought the filling out of the kitchen and returned to the bay window.

-Let the puppy make an appearance

-Request a joint frame!

Chu Yi glanced at Yan Hang, who was lowering his head to pinch the proofed dough into small lumps and lining them up neatly.

He leaned over and pointed the phone at himself and Yan Hang.

"Hm?" Yan Hang turned his head.

"Joint frame request." Chu Yi said.

"You really do grant requests." Yan Hang said.

"Ah." Chu Yi smiled.

-Sorry I died again

-I died too

-Let's die together, save me a spot to lie down

"Next is shaping the puppies," Yan Hang said, "Give the camera a close-up."

"Okay." Chu Yi pointed the camera at Yan Hang's hands.

"My hand is injured," Yan Hang said, "With one hand, I won't make it too complex. I'll just make a puppy head. Overly complex ones are prone to deforming when baked."

Yan Hang's right hand could only assist. After putting the filling on the dough, it was basically his left hand shaping it.

But Chu Yi watched mesmerized. With a few casual motions of his left hand, Yan Hang shaped an oval, then with a few more pinches, a round puppy head emerged. He pinched small dough pieces to attach as ears and eyes.

"Our native dog has erect ears," Yan Hang said, "It only folds its ears back when acting spoiled..."

Chu Yi could no longer see what the ladies were saying on the screen, only knowing they were commenting rapidly and sending many gifts. His mind was filled with the buzzing of "our native dog" and "acting spoiled"...

"Okay, this is a puppy in bloom," Yan Hang said while using scissors to snip a small opening on the dough and gently pinching it into petal shapes, "Now it goes in the oven to proof a bit more, then bake at 180°C for 15 minutes. After baking, pour the cream sauce we just made into it and return it to the oven for another 5 minutes. Then it'll be ready to eat."

Yan Hang arranged the shaped bread on the baking tray and carried it into the kitchen.

Chu Yi followed behind him in a daze, bumping into the doorframe as he entered the kitchen.

Yan Hang put the tray in the oven and set the timer before turning around.

Chu Yi finally came back to his senses. According to Yan Hang's habit, the livestream could end now without any closing remarks or summary. He focused his energy and tapped the screen with his finger, exiting the livestream.

"There's still some flour left. Let's make some puppy cookies too." Yan Hang said.

"Okay." Chu Yi nodded, put his phone on the table, and went to the sink to carefully wash the flour bits off his hands. Then he turned around and hugged Yan Hang again.

"What are you doing?" Yan Hang asked.

"Acting spoiled." Chu Yi said.

"Oh," Yan Hang laughed and reached back to pat his head, "Where are your ears?"

"Folded back." Chu Yi said.

Yan Hang laughed and patted his hand: "You're pressing on my wound."

"Oh!" Chu Yi quickly let go.

The bread Yan Hang baked today was quite complex and time-consuming. He also made puppy cookies. By the time everything was out of the oven, it was already time for dinner.

"Let's just eat this." Chu Yi said, holding a puppy bread.

"Up to you," Yan Hang said, "Eat up. If you want something else later, we can make some pasta."

"Okay." Chu Yi took a bite of the bread.

"Is it good?" Yan Hang asked.

"It's good." Chu Yi nodded.

He was being completely sincere. He felt Yan Hang's baking skills could easily outshine any bakery.

There were a total of sixteen puppy breads. Chu Yi ate ten, Yan Hang ate four, and the remaining two Chu Yi planned to have for breakfast tomorrow.

"I have something to tell you." Yan Hang said while sitting on the sofa and looking at his phone.

"Okay." Chu Yi sat next to him.

"About that part-time job I mentioned before," Yan Hang said, "They said starting from tomorrow, it's from 7:30 to 10:00 in the evening."

"Tomorrow?" Chu Yi looked at him, feeling a rush of excitement at first since he didn't have much money left. But after the excitement, he felt a bit nervous. He had only worked one job before, and it was one where he didn't need to talk.

"Tomorrow evening I'll go with you to check out the place," Yan Hang said, "It's not too far from here."

"Okay," Chu Yi rubbed his hands together, "I'm a bit nervous."

"It's fine," Yan Hang glanced at him, "You can already trick people into giving gifts. What's there to be nervous about being a waiter?"

"I didn't!" Chu Yi was stunned, "Who tricked people for gifts?!"

"The ladies sent a lot of gifts today." Yan Hang said.

"That was you!" Chu Yi stared at him.

The ladies had a collective meltdown every time because of what you said!

But he was too embarrassed to say this out loud, and it was too long and tiring to say.

"Yeah," Yan Hang smiled, "Today... I'm in an especially good mood."

"Really?" Chu Yi asked.

"Really," Yan Hang looked at him, "I haven't been this happy in a long time."

"Are you tired?" Chu Yi felt he still looked a bit fatigued, not sure if it was from the exhaustion of baking bread or still being weak after the high fever.

"A little," Yan Hang said, "It's always like this after a fever goes down."

"But you still made bread." Chu Yi said.

"It doesn't matter when I'm in a good mood," Yan Hang rested his arm, "The year before last during Chinese New Year, I made a big feast while enduring a stomachache."

"Where were you for Chinese New Year this year?" Chu Yi asked.

"Here," Yan Hang thought for a moment, "Spent it with Old Cui."

Chu Yi recalled what happened around Chinese New Year. He could still clearly remember his mood from that time. He furrowed his brows, then suddenly raised his head: "Then next... next year..."

"Still spending it with Old Cui," Yan Hang said, "He's not going home anyway."

Chu Yi didn't say anything.

He had never thought about Chinese New Year plans. To him, Chinese New Year was just so-so. But now that he had found Yan Hang, Chinese New Year was no longer "just so-so".

He didn't want to go home for Chinese New Year, only wanting to secretly go back to see his grandparents and aunt. But this would mean being separated from Yan Hang again. Just thinking about those three days when he went home for National Day, his mood instantly plummeted.

"There are still several months," Yan Hang put his hand on his head, his fingers twirling a tuft of hair, "Look at your expression."

Chu Yi turned his head and gave him a wry smile.

"You're going to work part-time?" Hu Biao was a bit surprised, "Are you short on money? If you need money, tell us. We can pool some for you."

"No," Chu Yi sighed, "I want to work part-time."

"Why?" Hu Biao asked again.

"To earn money," Chu Yi said.

"Still, if you need money, just tell us," Hu Biao said.

"Hey," Zhou Chunyang lay on the bed, laughing, "He's going to work to earn money, not because he's short on cash and needs us to crowdfund. Why is it so hard to talk to you?"

"Working part-time is so tiring," Hu Biao said, "We're still kids."

Chu Yi looked at him.

"Aren't we? Don't you have a correct understanding of yourself?" Hu Biao said, "Aren't we just kids? My brother is 20 years old, and he looks at me like I'm a child."

Chu Yi didn't say anything. He never felt like he was a child, and no one at home spoiled him like one. He just felt that he was unsophisticated.

But when Hu Biao said that, he seemed to suddenly understand something.

Yan Hang.

In Yan Hang's eyes, he was just a child, right?

Little dog, little country dog, puppy...
