Chapter 72 - Chapter 61 Part 3

"It's not healed that quickly," Yan Hang slowly sipped the hot water, "it may feel better, but it's very easy to sprain again. Be careful when you walk."

"Mm," Chu Yi squatted down by his legs and looked up at him. Thinking about how he had left Yan Hang, an injured patient, here alone for a week without taking care of him, he felt especially bad. "Yan Hang."

"I know what you want to say," Yan Hang glanced at him, "keep it to yourself."

"Mm." Chu Yi nodded.

"Doggy." Yan Hang ruffled his hair, his hand resting on Chu Yi's head.

"Ah," Chu Yi responded, waiting for him to continue. But after a long time, Yan Hang didn't say anything more, seeming a bit distracted. Chu Yi shook his head, "Huh?"

"You're really a good dog." Yan Hang said.

"...You really know how to compliment someone." Chu Yi said.

Yan Hang laughed and leaned back on the sofa with a sigh.

The second kettle of water boiled and Chu Yi went to the kitchen.

Yan Hang felt his eyes getting dry. After holding on for so many days, he finally felt sleepy.

"I'm going to sleep first, a bit tired," Yan Hang went to the bathroom to wash up, "if you're not sleepy, entertain yourself for a while."

"Mm," Chu Yi was pouring the boiling water into a thermos, "I'll bring an ice towel later to bring down your fever."

"Okay," Yan Hang responded. When he came out from washing up, Chu Yi was still standing in the kitchen, looking quite worried. Yan Hang patted Chu Yi's face, "Don't sleep on the sofa tonight."

"Oh." Chu Yi nodded.

Having the intention to sleep and actually falling asleep were two very different things.

Yan Hang lay in bed and closed his eyes.

But lying there waiting for dawn without sleepiness, versus lying there slowly waiting to fall asleep with sleepiness, felt quite different.

After lying for a while, he heard Chu Yi come in, followed by a slightly cold towel being placed on his forehead.

"Will it disturb your sleep?" Chu Yi asked softly.

"It won't." Yan Hang didn't open his eyes. Chu Yi's voice sounded quite magnetic in this situation.

"I'll be right beside you." Chu Yi said.

"Mm." Yan Hang smiled.

The mattress sank a little as Chu Yi sat down next to him.

Chu Yi's stealth skills were very good. After sitting down, he basically made no sound. It wasn't until the towel on his forehead lost its coolness that Yan Hang felt Chu Yi move. The towel was gently taken away.

Then the mattress lifted slightly as Chu Yi stood up. Very light footsteps walked out of the bedroom.

Actually, for someone who had trouble sleeping, Chu Yi's movements that were light and barely audible but not completely silent were the most unbearable. One couldn't help but strain to hear clearly, and once heard clearly, the sleepiness would be gone.

But today Yan Hang didn't feel this irritation and rather enjoyed it.

During this time, he hadn't gone out. Other than Cui Yi and the housekeeper, he hadn't seen anyone else. Most of the time, the house was so quiet it suffocated him.

Perhaps it was because he was injured and had a fever, he became very sensitive. The feelings of loneliness spread through his bones and he could no longer find that sense of balance he used to have when living alone for long periods.

With Chu Yi here making various small noises, he felt at ease.

However, although his bit of pitiful sleepiness didn't completely disappear, it also couldn't continue to grow.

Chu Yi changed his towel four times as he kept his eyes closed, pretending to sleep.

The fifth time when the towel was removed, Chu Yi felt his forehead and didn't put on a sixth towel.

Yan Hang could hear him going to wash up, then turning off the living room light and entering the bedroom.

Probably afraid of disturbing him, Chu Yi didn't turn on the light when entering the bedroom. After taking two steps toward the bed, he kicked the foot of the bed.

"Fuck your ancestors." Chu Yi cursed in a low voice, almost just using his breath.

Yan Hang held back a laugh.

The little mutt could curse behind people's backs, huh?

Chu Yi got on the bed very lightly and then froze still.

There was only one blanket. When it was hot, the two of them slept in one bed without covering anything. But now it was very cool and they couldn't sleep without covering up.

Yan Hang originally wanted to speak up and let Chu Yi share the blanket with him, but he was afraid Chu Yi would feel awkward if he spoke, so he could only continue pretending to sleep.

Chu Yi stayed still for a good thirty seconds before finally reaching out to lift the blanket.

Yan Hang pretended to roll over to Chu Yi's side, spreading half the blanket over.

Chu Yi quickly took the chance while he was rolling over to slip under the blanket, scooting closer to him and covering himself properly.

The room quieted down, with only the very soft ticking of the small alarm clock by the bed.

And the sound of Chu Yi's breathing.

Yan Hang listened to Chu Yi's breathing go from fast to slow.

The mutt's speed of falling asleep was really enviable. In ten minutes at most, he heard Chu Yi's very light snoring. After snoring for a few minutes, it completely turned into light, relaxed breathing.

He had fallen asleep.

Tsk.

Yan Hang simply wanted to push him awake and make him sleep again. There was an insomniac here, how could he have the nerve to fall asleep so quickly?

He opened his eyes and looked.

Chu Yi was sleeping on his side with his back to him, and now he could only see Chu Yi's neck and shoulders.

... There was no particular feeling.

He didn't know if it was because he was sick and his mind couldn't spare the space to ponder those things, or if he really had no feelings for Chu Yi.

Of course, it was also possible that the stimulation wasn't enough.

Yan Hang suddenly felt like laughing a little, not realizing that he was actually so childish.

He stretched his hand over to Chu Yi's side and placed it on Chu Yi's waist.

Through the clothes, he could feel Chu Yi's body in his palm, rising and falling gently with his breathing, quite rhythmically.

"Doggy." He called out very softly.

Chu Yi didn't stir, not even a change in his breathing.

So he used his fingers to lift up the clothes and reached in again to touch Chu Yi's waist.

The current atmosphere was very strange. Yan Hang couldn't understand why he, who was always calm, mature, well-traveled, and unperturbed, would behave in such a hooligan-like manner, and even secretly act like a hooligan.

But what surprised him even more was that in this strange, stimulating, and crazy behavior, he... suddenly felt that Chu Yi's waist was very nice to touch, the skin was very tight, smooth...

The mattress shook a couple of times. When Chu Yi suddenly opened his eyes, Yan Hang had already lifted the covers and sat up.

"What's wrong!" He also sat up nervously. The room wasn't lit, so he could only see Yan Hang's silhouette.

When he reached out to turn on the light, Yan Hang grabbed his wrist. "Go back to sleep."

"Not feeling well?" Chu Yi asked. Yan Hang's hand was quite warm, but not particularly hot. The fever should have subsided a bit.

"I need to pee." Yan Hang got out of bed.

"Oh." Chu Yi breathed a sigh of relief and lay back down.
