Chapter 68 - Chapter 60 Part 2

His WeChat notifications went off at least ten times this afternoon, all friend requests.

Chu Yi looked at the messages one by one, feeling a bit baffled.

He's used to his WeChat being dead silent. Occasionally there would be one or two strangers requesting to add him, which he would directly ignore.

But now these friend requests are all like "I'm your classmate", "I'm from Early Childhood Education Class 2", "Hi, I'm your senior"...

They're all schoolmates.

This made him very confused. He couldn't just ignore them all, so he had to approve them one by one.

But after approving, there were all kinds of messages.

-Dog bro, finally added you

-Hey Mutt

......

"My WeChat ID," Chu Yi sat on the bed, looking at the few people sitting or standing around the table, "How, how did this happen?"

"Hm?" Zhou Chunyang looked up at him.

"So many people adding me as friends." Chu Yi said.

"Hu Biao!" Zhou Chunyang shouted towards the bathroom, "Only he can answer this."

As soon as Zhou Chunyang mentioned Hu Biao, Chu Yi immediately realized. Zhou Chunyang's WeChat had also been mass added before, because Hu Biao was bribed with a barbecue meal to give it out.

"What's up?" Hu Biao came out of the bathroom.

"Spill it," Gao Xiaoyang said, "Why did you sell out dog bro, you traitor of 403."

Hu Biao tutted: "I'm the publicity ambassador of 403, okay?"

"Thanks," Zhou Chunyang said, "Now I still have several girls on WeChat trying to make me straight. Should I treat you to a nice meal?"

"No guys added you?" Hu Biao asked.

"Get lost." Zhou Chunyang kicked him in the butt.

"I really didn't get any benefits from giving out Dog Bro's ID," Hu Biao patted his pants, "Really, a bunch of girls acting cute around you, doesn't it make your legs weak?"

"Nope," Zhou Chunyang said, "A bunch of handsome guys acting cute around me would make my legs weak."

The dorm room burst into laughter.

"No, but," Wu Xu sighed, "When people act cute around you wanting Chu Yi's ID, shouldn't you feel devastated instead of weak in the knees?"

"You don't get it," Hu Biao laughed and grabbed the upper bunk railing to climb up, "Chu Yi, Jiang Yanni is among them, don't you owe me a meal."

Jiang Yanni?

Chu Yi didn't say anything and looked at Hu Biao.

"He doesn't know who Jiang Yanni is," Li Ziqiang said, "People saying he's Zhou Chunyang's boyfriend wouldn't be strange. He's never even looked properly at girls."

Chu Yi suddenly felt a bit awkward.

"He's never looked properly at guys either," Zhang Qiang sighed, "That's how cool people are."

"Jiang Yanni," Hu Biao looked at Chu Yi like he was a hopeless case, "The campus belle, Dog Bro. Fair skin, beautiful, long legs, sweet smile."

Chu Yi had no impression at all. Other than these guys from their auto repair class and the few troublemakers they've fought with several times, forget girls, he doesn't even remember the guys.

"Oh." He could only politely respond.

"Forget I said anything." Hu Biao glanced at him and jumped down.

Zhou Chunyang sat by the table, rocking his chair while laughing.

"You want it?" Chu Yi looked at Hu Biao, "Her ID?"

"Damn," Hu Biao bounced back up, "I do."

But quite a lot of people added him and not everyone used their real name. In the end, Hu Biao identified her based on the selfies in her album.

"Didn't expect," Hu Biao said, "The campus belle's selfies are so edited that her mom wouldn't recognize her. I almost didn't realize it was her..."

Chu Yi smiled and took a look at the photos.

To be honest, he didn't find her that pretty, felt like she wasn't as pretty as Beike.

But his aesthetic sense has always been severely lacking, so not being able to tell if someone is good-looking is normal for him. After all, not everyone has Yan Hang's level of handsomeness that even an aesthetically-challenged mutt would find attractive.

Thinking of Yan Hang, he fell back on the pillow, facing the wall, and opened Yan Hang's album.

Yan Hang actually hasn't posted any Moments these past few days. Is it because his hand is inconvenient? Don't they say the left hand has hidden skills? He can't even manage to tap the screen a few times.

He sighed.

Ever since he replied with a super simple "Yes" to Yan Hang that day, Yan Hang hasn't contacted him.

Actually, it's not strange for Yan Hang to not take the initiative to contact him. Most of the time, he's the one who seeks out Yan Hang first. Yan Hang only looks for him when there's something, like asking if there was anyone in his dorm room that day.

Chu Yi frowned. The more he thought about it, the more he felt his reply that day was too curt.

Yan Hang was just worried that he would feel stifled being alone when returning to the empty dorm room, so he asked. And he just gave a one-word reply.

He flipped over and opened his chat window with Yan Hang.

He stared blankly for a long time, not knowing what to say.

In this instant, he suddenly panicked.

In just these few days, he actually can't find a reason to contact Yan Hang anymore.

No, it's not that he can't find a reason.

All along, he has sought out Yan Hang without any particular reason. Or rather, all his reasons only amounted to one - he wanted to talk to Yan Hang.

But now, it feels completely wrong.

Once he can no longer easily find Yan Hang just because he wants to talk to him, he suddenly has no idea what to do.

"Dog bro!" Hu Biao called out to him. "Ah." Chu Yi turned off his phone and rolled over.

"Damn, now Chu Yi doesn't even respond when you call him," Li Ziqiang said, "He only reacts to being called Brother Dog."

"Didn't hear it." Chu Yi sat up.

"Let's go out for a walk," Zhou Chunyang said, "You coming?"

Chu Yi hesitated for a moment: "Yeah."

If everyone else left the dorm leaving just him and Su Bin, it would be really unbearable. Besides, going out for a walk could help take his mind off things.

Yan Hang was lying on the bed, listening to his headphones.

Lying like this in broad daylight felt really stuffy, and after taking a few calls from the restaurant, he felt even more stifled.

While he was away, Zhang Chen covered his shifts. Zhang Chen was usually quite sharp, but after all, she wasn't very familiar with the supervisor's work and made quite a few mistakes. When Zhang Chen called to tell him, she was even crying. He didn't know how to comfort her.

When the phone rang again, he didn't even want to pick it up, afraid it would be Zhang Chen crying again and he still wouldn't know what to say.

But it was Cui Yi calling: "Has your fever gone down a bit?"

"Let me check." Yan Hang took the thermometer out from his clothes and looked at it. "Down a little."

38 degrees. It was 38.3 in the morning. Strictly speaking, it had indeed gone down.

"How many degrees?" Cui Yi asked again.

"37.5," Yan Hang said, "It should be gone by tonight."

"You should still get it checked out tomorrow," Cui Yi said, "Why would you get a fever if you don't have a cold or anything?"

"From being idle." Yan Hang said.

Idle, or stifled.

After hanging up, Yan Hang didn't move again for a long time, watching the sunlight slowly move from the left side of the opposite building to the right.

These past two days, whenever Chu Yi had free time, he would wander around everywhere with his dorm mates, as if patrolling the streets. He had almost memorized where every crack and bump was on the nearby roads.

"Your phone is ringing." Zhou Chunyang nudged his arm.

"Huh?" Chu Yi looked up, dazed for a second before hearing his phone ringing. He quickly took it out.

Seeing it was Cui Yi's number, he suddenly felt nervous.
