A Lucky Coin

Chapter 59 - Chapter 57 Part 1

Chu Yi had never sprained his ankle before. He had been chased by people many times in the past, but he was always able to run swiftly and never sprained his ankle. He didn't know what happened today. He had just run to the fire escape when he sprained it.

The ground in that area was all flat, and there were no debris. He didn't know how it felt like he had stepped on air and suddenly swayed violently.

The person chasing him wasn't running very fast, but the fire escape led to the lobby where people handle inpatient procedures, and there were many people. When Chu Yi continued to rush over, he could no longer see the person. He originally wanted to go out and look around, but when he thought of Yan Hang sitting alone in the small garden, he broke out in a cold sweat.

When running back, he kept staring at the surroundings of Yan Hang, even the cleaning lady he stared at several times, fearing that she would suddenly raise her hand to pull off a wig and pull out a machine gun from under the cart.

It wasn't until he had to take off his shoes that he found his ankle was so painful that he couldn't even touch it. Such a simple action that normally wouldn't feel any exertion made him break out in sweat from the pain.

"Go register," Yan Hang stood up, "Let's go."

"No, no hurry," Chu Yi quickly stood up too, bending his sprained foot, and looked around, always feeling that it was unsafe here, "I'll send, send you back first."

"I..." Yan Hang frowned, wanting to bend down and look at his foot.

"Hey, don't, don't move." Chu Yi grabbed his arm.

"I can be discharged in a few days," Yan Hang said, "When I'm with you, you won't even let me move?"

"I'll send you back, back to the ward." Chu Yi tried to stuff his foot into the shoe he had taken off.

It failed, it couldn't be stuffed back in, and it hurt a lot.

He could only hand the shoe to Yan Hang: "You take, take it."

"You sit," Yan Hang sighed, took out his phone and dialed a number, "Uncle, come down for a bit, to the small garden here, my brother sprained his ankle...Mm, quite serious, you push him to get it checked...Okay."

"That, that person," Chu Yi kept his arm raised around Yan Hang's back, "Can the po, police uncle check the sur, surveillance and catch, him?"

"Don't worry about it," Yan Hang said, "I'll tell Cui Yi in a bit..."

"What do you mean don't! Don't worry about it!" Chu Yi got anxious all of a sudden, couldn't help raising his voice, and stared at Yan Hang, "How can, can I not worry! Ah!"

Yan Hang seemed to be startled by him and turned to look at him.

He instantly felt a little embarrassed. Just as he was about to speak again, Yan Hang also shouted at him: "Foot!"

After shouting this word, Yan Hang paused, then his voice returned to normal, but his tone was still fierce: "It's already like that, and you're still worrying about that person! I told you not to worry, so don't worry! I'm telling you to go get your foot checked now! You fucking go get your foot checked! Understand?"

"Understood." Chu Yi nodded.

"Don't yell at me!" Yan Hang got close to his face and said fiercely, "I just can't exert strength now, otherwise I could yell at you until you back up and run over here again."

"Ah," Chu Yi glanced at him, "In, inner strength not, enough?"

"Scram," Yan Hang kept a straight face for a while, then finally laughed, "Scram scram scram..."

The caregiver uncle quickly came over and pushed Chu Yi in a wheelchair, first sending Yan Hang back to the ward.

"Don't go, go out." Chu Yi said.

"Mm." Yan Hang responded.

"I'm very familiar with the hospital," the uncle pushed Chu Yi out, "No need to register, directly go to the orthopedic ward and find a doctor to take a look first, treat him a bit before anything else."

"Thank you." Yan Hang said.

"What are you thanking for," the uncle laughed, "It's no trouble."

After seeing Chu Yi being pushed away, Yan Hang didn't close the ward door. His hospital bed was next to the door, and the nurse station was diagonally across. As long as the door wasn't closed, the nurses could see if there was any movement.

He sat back on the bed and called Cui Yi.

"You sure?" Cui Yi was a little surprised.

"Sure," Yan Hang said, "Chu Yi recognized him."

"I'll contact the police again," Cui Yi said, "Last time the surveillance couldn't capture it clearly, this time in the hospital, it should be able to capture more clearly."

"Recognizing the person is useless," Yan Hang frowned, "If this person has no criminal record, even if we know what he looks like, we won't know who he is."

"I'll arrange a hospital transfer for you." Cui Yi said.

"No need," Yan Hang glanced outside the door, "He doesn't have the ability, and I feel he..."

"He's waiting for your dad to appear." Cui Yi said.

"You think so too?" Yan Hang bit his lip.

"Mm," Cui Yi said, "But your dad won't take this bait."

"Yeah, old fox." Yan Hang laughed.

"Have to be more careful now," Cui Yi said, "I can't find a place to hide you for now, and hiding is useless, you're out in the open."

"I won't hide," Yan Hang said, "If I hadn't been distracted that day, he wouldn't have been able to get close to me."

"You have the same reckless temper as your dad," Cui Yi sighed, "Then you'd better not get distracted again."

"Mm." Yan Hang responded.

Distracted.

Yeah, that day he was distracted by Chu Yi.

But he didn't mind too much, he was just afraid Chu Yi would feel guilty because of this.

Seeing Chu Yi so anxious today, he felt quite sorry, and was especially afraid that Chu Yi would rush over and encounter something. Although Chu Yi looked like he could fight, he didn't have much experience in street fights after all, and he might suffer if there was anything underhanded.

What role Chu Yi's father played in this matter, he still couldn't figure out. Maybe he just came to help drive a car, was forced, was deceived, all possible, anyway he wouldn't be a key figure.

But Chu Yi wouldn't think that way. Yan Hang could sense that he always had a strong sense of guilt, even though this matter had nothing to do with him.

This personality, not at all like Brother Dog.

When Chu Yi was pushed back to the ward by the uncle, he was even less like Brother Dog, with his foot wrapped in bandages.

"Is there a problem with the bone?" Yan Hang was stunned when he saw it.

"No," the uncle said, "There's medicine wrapped inside, took an X-ray, no problem with the bone, ligament strain, will have difficulty walking for a while."

"No problem," Chu Yi stood up and hopped to the bedside in one step, "Look."

"I'll go borrow a crutch for you," the uncle said, "You can hop faster with it."

"Okay." Chu Yi smiled.

"If you come these next few days," Yan Hang said softly, "just take a taxi, I'll reimburse you, don't be stingy with money."

"Mm," Chu Yi nodded, thought for a moment and glanced at him, "You haven't reimbursed me for the phone money yet."

"Ayo," Yan Hang clicked his tongue and took out his wallet to hand to him, "Go take the card and withdraw it yourself."

"What's the password?" Chu Yi asked.

"The first six digits of your phone number." Yan Hang said.

"Mine?" Chu Yi was stunned for a moment.

"Mm," Yan Hang smiled, "My dad gave me this card, the password he set before was really weird, I could never remember it, last time I went to withdraw money it was too much trouble, so I changed it."

"Oh." Chu Yi looked down at the card.

When Chu Yi was withdrawing money with Yan Hang's card in the hospital lobby, he glanced at the balance, there was actually nearly 100,000 yuan, which was a huge sum for him.

When he returned to the ward after withdrawing the money, he was practically holding the card in his mouth, hopping very nervously on his crutch the whole way, afraid that the person from earlier would appear again, and also afraid that someone would snatch his card, feeling that he was going much faster than when his foot wasn't injured.

It wasn't until he entered the ward that he realized, if the card was snatched then so be it, it's not like they had the password anyway.

These past two days Yan Hang had been on a liquid diet, the so-called liquid diet being things like congee, which must have been very painful for the food lover Yan Hang.

When he put the card back in Yan Hang's wallet, Yan Hang was staring blankly at a bowl of rice soup.

"Don't want to eat?" Chu Yi asked.

"Waiting for it to cool down a bit so I can drink it in one breath," Yan Hang said, "You should eat something, Uncle will go get food in a bit, have him get a portion for you too?"

"Mm." Chu Yi nodded, he also hadn't had much appetite these past few days, after returning to Yan Hang's home he didn't feel like eating either, but if he sat here and ate together with Yan Hang, he seemed to have quite the appetite.

The caregiver uncle brought back two portions of twice-cooked pork rice, the two of them sat to the left and right surrounding the hospital bed, with Yan Hang and his rice soup in the middle, this scene was a bit heart-wrenching.

"I want to eat twice-cooked pork." Yan Hang said.

"Too oily," the uncle said, "There's meat in yours too, it's just been blended into a juice."

"Can that still be considered meat?" Yan Hang stirred the rice soup with his spoon, "I'm not afraid of oil, I want to eat meat."

"Stay strong." Chu Yi ate very quickly, trying to eat fast to avoid stimulating Yan Hang for a long time.

"Piss off." Yan Hang laughed.

Chu Yi scarfed it down very quickly, in just a few minutes there was only a small piece of meat left in the lunch box, he picked it up with his chopsticks and was about to put it in his mouth when he noticed Yan Hang staring at him.

"Hm?" He looked at Yan Hang.

"Give it to me." Yan Hang said.

Chu Yi looked at the piece of meat about the size of a pinky nail held between his chopsticks: "You want to eat it?"

"Give it to me," Yan Hang glared at him, "Hurry up."

Chu Yi hesitated for a moment, then brought the piece of meat to his mouth, Yan Hang snatched it away in one bite.

"Can you chew it?" Chu Yi asked.

Yan Hang chewed a couple times then stopped, sighing: "It's already disappeared."

"It'll be better tomorrow," the uncle laughed, "The food ordered for you tomorrow won't be this anymore."

After eating, Chu Yi leaned against the side of the bed watching TV together with Yan Hang.

The patient in the neighboring bed had just changed wards, no new patient had moved in yet, the uncle went next door to chat with his fellow villager, so only he and Yan Hang were left in the ward.

It had been quite a long time since he had quietly stayed with Yan Hang like this.

Although the TV was very boring, although his foot was a bit uncomfortable and he had to prop it up on the chair next to him, he felt very comfortable.

His phone beeped, Li Ziqiang had sent a message.

-We're all back, what's going on with you? Chunyang said you took time off?

-Mm, Yan Hang was hospitalized so I took three days off to take care of him

He replied to Li Ziqiang's message according to Yan Hang's instructions.

Within a couple seconds, Li Ziqiang called directly.
