Chapter 117

Chapter 76 Part 2

"I'm alright," Yan Hang glanced back at him. "Isn't it about time you got off work?"

"Mm," Chu Yi nodded. "I just need to finish up and then I can leave."

"I'll wait here for you," Yan Hang said. "Get some fresh air."

"Okay," Chu Yi put something in his hand. "Here, eat this."

Yan Hang looked at it. It was a small piece of chocolate with a puppy sticker. He smiled, "You took this yesterday?"

"Ah," Chu Yi also smiled. "I took everything they didn't eat."

"Stingy." Yan Hang unwrapped the chocolate and put it in his mouth.

After tidying up and locking the door, Chu Yi didn't say whether or not he wanted to go back to school. Yan Hang also didn't speak up.

When they got to the intersection, Chu Yi hailed a taxi, "Let's take a cab."

"Mm," Yan Hang smiled.

After getting in the taxi together, Yan Hang gave the address of the residential complex. Chu Yi sat next to him, pinching one of his fingers and rubbing it.

Although he could guess that nothing major had happened with Chu Jianxin, Chu Yi was still a rather thoughtful person after all, and was probably feeling uneasy right now.

"Do you want to call your grandma or your mom?" Yan Hang asked.

"No," Chu Yi's reply was very simple and decisive. "People who don't care, there's no point caring about them to the end."

"Alright." Yan Hang nodded.

"If my dad can get out," Chu Yi turned his head and whispered in his ear, "I have to go back for a bit."

"Hm?" Yan Hang looked at him.

"I want to ask what happened," Chu Yi said. "What exactly did he see."

Yan Hang didn't speak, he pulled Chu Yi into his arms and squeezed tightly.

Yan Hang would definitely still not be able to sleep well tonight, but Chu Yi was clearly tired, covering up several yawns that Yan Hang noticed.

"You're quite cultured." Leaning on the sofa, looking at his phone, Yan Hang suddenly said.

"Hm?" Chu Yi, who had been pretending to watch TV very seriously, turned his head.

"You turn your head when you yawn," Yan Hang said. "Quite shy."

"I didn't yawn." Chu Yi kept a straight face.

"I heard it, stop pretending." Yan Hang said.

"Nonsense," Chu Yi pointed at the TV. "I was watching a TV show."

Yan Hang glanced at the TV, it was a rerun of a drama about a young man fervently pursuing a beautiful young widow.

"Aren't you studying?" Yan Hang said.

"No," Chu Yi continued pointing at the TV. "The male lead is, really good at cooking. He makes food for her every day, to pursue her..."

"Starting tomorrow," Yan Hang pointed at him. "You're in charge of cooking."

Chu Yi was stunned for a few seconds before bursting into laughter, leaning against him and laughing nonstop.

"Stutterers from Planet Stutter," Yan Hang said. "Don't stutter when you laugh, huh."

"Mm," Chu Yi nodded. "Ha, hahaha, haha, ha..."

"Get out." Yan Hang pushed him.

"It's me pursuing you, right?" Chu Yi said.

"No," Yan Hang said. "You can't even cook, what makes you think you can pursue someone."

Chu Yi didn't speak, just kept laughing with his head tilted back.

Yan Hang sighed.

After laughing for a while, Chu Yi stopped, seeming a little confused and embarrassed. He stared at the ceiling for a long time before finally turning his head to look at him, "Is it true?"

"What?" Yan Hang asked.

"What you said before," Chu Yi said.

"What did I say before?" Yan Hang said. "I think I said quite a lot..."

Chu Yi bit his lip and clicked his tongue without speaking again.

Yan Hang laughed and after playing with his phone for a while longer, he finally spoke, "It's true."

Before the TV drama had finished, Chu Yi was already struggling to stay awake, no longer bothering to turn his head when he yawned. If he had kept turning his head every time, he probably would've spun into a spinning top.

"Wipe your tears and go to sleep." Yan Hang handed him a tissue.

"What about you?" Chu Yi took the tissue and dabbed his eyes.

"Don't worry about me," Yan Hang said. "When I cultivate, you can't compare to me."

"At least try to nap or something," Chu Yi said.

"Alright." Yan Hang nodded and stretched before getting up and going into the bedroom.

Lying in bed, Chu Yi turned on his side facing Yan Hang, looking at the tiny glimmer of light from the tip of his nose in the darkness, and wanted to say something more.

But he didn't dare talk about his dad and Uncle Yan in case it bothered Yan Hang.

And he was too shy to talk about anything related to having a boyfriend.

Just as he was trying to think of something else to say, he fell asleep.

On Monday, back at school, everything was still the same as before - familiar environment, familiar people, familiar daily routines.

But Chu Yi felt very different.

Although he couldn't pinpoint exactly what was different.

Everything was still the same every day.

His dad's situation seemed to be going smoothly. Sister Bai had contacted him twice, once to tell him she had brought some essential items to his dad, and once to tell him that things were progressing well and he shouldn't worry too much.

His dad had also sent messages through Sister Bai, saying he was sorry to Chu Yi, and asking him not to tell his grandparents about this situation yet, fearing it would worry the elderly.

Besides that, he hadn't mentioned anyone else. His mom, maternal grandmother, maternal grandfather - he hadn't sent any messages to them, nor had he asked about their situations.

He must have sensed it, after all, from the beginning, the only client when hiring the lawyer was Chu Yi.

Sometimes when Chu Yi was sitting at the edge of the basketball court watching his dorm mates play, he would suddenly feel that time passed quickly and some things changed so abruptly.

His dad suddenly disappeared, he suddenly grew up, his family was suddenly gone.

There was some sadness, like an old man looking back at the path he had walked...although the path he had walked so far was very short, just a few hops on his four legs.

But he was quite satisfied.

After all he had Yan Hang.

What also changed was his relationship with Yan Hang.

It looked the same on the surface, but after that night, in this relationship that didn't seem much different from before, there was now a sense of justification and self-evidence.

"Let's go out for a walk tonight," Yan Hang said, "I got off work early this afternoon, I want to go out for a nice dinner and walk around."

"But I have work," Chu Yi said.

"Take time off," Yan Hang said, "it's Tuesday today, not many customers either."

"Okay," Chu Yi thought for a moment, "I want to go to a bar."

"Where do you want to go?" Yan Hang asked.

"A bar," Chu Yi said.

"Do you even know how old you are?" Yan Hang said.

"19 years old," Chu Yi said firmly.
